Report: Bargnani & Parker Offered for Okafor

It was apparently reported today at approximately 4:17 PM Eastern on WFNZ Sports Radio 610 in Charlotte that the Raptors offered Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani in exchange for Emeka Okafor from the Charlotte Bobcats.

I don't like it. I admit that Bargnani would be a significant scoring upgrade, but he isn't a fraction of the player that Emeka is defensively

I dunno, I don't like the idea of getting Bargnani in place of Okafor. It's definitely an Offense for Defense trade. Also, it doesn't work in the trade machine, for what that's worth. Parker and Bargnani together make over $9million, whereas Mek makes $5.
If we add in Matt, the deal works, but I'm not sure I like that either.

It would work for Okafor and Othello to Toronto in return for Bargnani and Parker. You get a starting 4 and a terrific backup 2 to back up J-Rich. That opens up to trading Carroll. *If we could somehow swindle Toronto out of their 1st rounder also, I'd absolutely love it. I think Bargnani will be a really great player one day very soon.

Mek is good. you really cant base our players performance fairly with the coaching they recieve. they have all had 2 below average coaches who have no system and no concept of scheming.

Ever since about 3 weeks ago when Mek started trying to dunk on everyone, i have been so happy. thats all i ask of him. play with fire and desire and he will be a great talent. i wouldnt trade him for many players in this league if he keeps it up. NOT TO MENTION regardless of what you think of him the man is a double double machine.

If this was pulled from the Raptors' board on RealGM (didn't see a link to the quote?) that thread was locked and (for now) is considered a hoax. The poster who started the thread is a big advocate of Mek and has been posting a lot about trying to get him.

yep I agree. I was doubting him, but when he wants to be he is a beast. Maybe thats part of the problem, will he ever become the beast he needs to be in Charlotte? Or is a new system the only way?

This trade doesn't work salarywise. We'd have to include somebody like Othella. This proposal is total failure.

But suppose this trade works. If they include Jose Calderon instead of Parker, I'd do that. I don't want to surrender our last keeper in the paint unless we get a wonderful "pure" point guard (although his contract is expiring).
