This year with Vincent we have achieved the longest winning streak in team history (5) and the longest road winning streak in team history (4) yet with all want him fired and guess what, so do I. Simply put, the expectations were much higher this season and the roster improved A LOT yet we're just as bad if not worse than we've been in the past. He needs to go, this team needs to win NOW. It was a mistake hiring a rookie coach and we should of known it from the start.

Yeah, those benchmarks were achieved by the Bobcats this season, but "coach" was more or less a bystander in the process. JRich is the key reason those franchise records have occurred this year; not to mention Crash's phenomenal (if oft-injured) season, and Raymond at (gasp) PG. I'll be damned if MJ wasn't "this" close to promising on his playoff promise at the end of last year, because this is an eastern conference playoff team in terms of talent and inherent desire, but he misfired on his coaching hire. Was it because of economics like the article states? No doubt. But it's not the only reason either, which the article acknowledges. He wanted to look like a genius, finding a diamond in the rough; he wanted to hire an acquaintance.

All that's missing is a legit post threat 4, some PG depth, and, probably most important, an actual head coach. I'm in favor of LB because of my insider who tells me LB would be a good fit, and would like to coach the Bobcats if given the opportunity. I think the premise that he coach for 2-3 years, turn this team into a consistent playoff contender, while having an assitant coach, preferably with NBA coaching experience as an assistant, be groomed to take over is a great idea.

In MJ's interview, he says something along the lines of "I don't anticipate any drastic changes in personnel or coaching." Well, I don't consider getting rid of a head coach as "drastic" by any means. If LB is hired, Ford stays on since he's been LB's assistant at Detroit and New York, and Capel and Sanders would probably be retained. I expect Rose to not be back next year, regardless of what happens with "coach", and Mokeski hasn't done anything to warrant being back next season anyway, so there's no loss there.

We'll see what happens, but I know Bobcats management is feeling more and more confident with their personnel as the season has progressed, though they are feeling all kinds of pressure about their coaching situation, as evidenced by Bob's "vote" and MJ's rare interview on the subject. If there concern is with the "bottom line" as the article indicates (and it obviously is, as with any business), they need to consider that spending some money on a head coach will pay dividends at the box office and future ST sales/renewals. Ultimately the question is: just how deep are the depths of MJ's pride?
