I am so tired of hearing:
"Matt Carroll was a bad signing"
"Adam Morrison is a bust"
"Adam Morrison cost us Brandon Roy!"
Come on guys! Matt Carroll for one, has done nothing but good for our franchise! He is a phenomenal shooter and a great locker room guy.
And, My GOD!!, Quit criticizing ADAM MORRISON!!!! What happened to calling him "The Next Larry Bird"!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Yes i am a BIG Morrison fan and Yes I do give him a little more love than some of the other players BUT I support them ALL. I dont want to see one of our players get traded just because his contarct is too big or something similar to that. Our team is very young. We need time to develop(Well we are young outside of Othella and DA...LOL)
We are all here on BobcatsPlanet because we are Bobcats fans. We need to support our team.....
I am really frustarted right now about some peoples attitudes towards the team that I love to watch and keep up with...
This thread has no value what so ever when you post it after making this comment:
"No MC wishes he was as good as Adam..."

but that isn't saying that Matt is abad player or not worth his contract. My comment was basically re-stating what I said before about how Morrison is more of a complete player than Matt....

Ammofan, I know you are a Adam Morrison supporter, but when it comes to The Hammer or Ammo, I will take the hammer 7 days a week and 3 times on Sunday before Ammo. Why? because The Hammer has been busting him arse, and putting up with Sam Vincent's crap for 72 games, while Ammo has been on the bench living up to his superman status :)
I know, I know, that's not fair, but let the truth be told.

I love Matt more than pretty much anyone else but you're crazy if you think he's more of a complete player than Adam.

What has Adam Morrison done to prove he's a more complete player than Matt Carroll aka The Hammer., can't touch this :)

7.9 PER = extreme lack of a complete game.
Matt can drive, shoot off the dribble, create his own shot, and catch and shoot better than Adam Morrison. Matt also does more on defense then watch guys blow past him and slap at them. Matt tries to rebound and is not allergic to blocking out. Matt also can finish on breaks as opposed to Adam who once when he had a clear path to the basket turned around and ran back out to the 3 pt line because he thought he'd get ran down and blocked from behind.
I'm not trying to rag Adam and I hope that he improves next year and comes back healthy but from all we know which was his rookie year, It's quite clear who the better player is at this time.

According to NBA 2k8, Adam has a rating of 74 and Matt has a rating of 71. MY VIDYA GAMES TELL NO LIE!

Not on my copy of 2K8.
Matt is a 73 and Morrison is a 69.
Edit player ftw!!

Well, I can pretty much gurantee that Morrison has been busting his butt to get back to the game. Morrison loves the game and not just the lifestyle. He most likely does not enjoy sitting around on the bench doing nothing. he will come back with SUPERMAN strength next season and helping our Cats get into the 2009 NBA playoffs!!!!!!!

Ammofan, I also hope Adam comes back stronger next season, but right now he cannot touch The Hammer.
Can we get rid of Vincent already, so we can have better things to talk about.
I'm done with this conversation.

Can't we just bring Walter back since he was better than either of them?

yeah its quite clear whos the better player??? When does Matt Carroll drive by the way? When does Matt Carroll shoot off the dribble? Sure he might try harder on defense...but what does that get him??? the same result someone breezing right by. trying your best and playing with heart doesnt mean dick to me unless theres results behind it. hell if i got put on this team i would try until i died ... that doesnt make me worth 5 million dollars and a roster spot.l
Look i like Matt Carroll. Nice guy, good locker room guy. i would just like Matt Carroll a lot more for 3 million a year for 3 years. instead of double that.
notice no mention of adam morrison.... just not happy with MCs performance and contract and all that it hinders us from.
and when your 32 wins at the end of the season... what do you want me to say to the players and coaches... aww shucks guys you sure did give it your heart out there Matt... even though you missed nine of your 11 3 pointers and we lost by 30. WAY TO GO your totally worth 5 and half million dollars !!

lets be real here. Your saying dont criticize nba players who make millions of dollars, when they arent performing at the level we had expected or wished for. Maybe you dont understand the side of the nba that is a business, or dont understand how competitive the world is.
Criticism is essential, especially on a website like this. Why should we not discuss whether or not Ammo (the greasiest mother on earth) or carroll were bad signings? Its the point of the forum.
I really dont understand what you have with adam, he has not been proved himself, and plays terrible defense, but thats another topic. Why should I not be able to say that? If it helps us futher the discourse on why and where the bobcats fail, and how we should move ahead, then it makes sense.
No offense, but I really dont think many of your posts make sense. It started with the comparing your own personal basketball style to that of adam morrison, saying when you played like him your team won, (or something along those lines) to demanding we dont criticize the players.
I can see your a loyal fan, so am I, and I appreciate your optimism, but think about what your saying, and what the reality of this team is.

Matt's been just like everyone else on the roster: up and down. Like I said earlier, I think he's done a lot more on the court this year than just shoot open threes. However, his overall game is usually connected to his shooting. So, if he's shooting poorly, he's usually not doing much on either end of the court.
In all seriousness, Matt's the guy on the team that as soon as you say he can't play D, he'll make a great stop, get a steal, and get three rebounds in a couple of minutes. I've seen it happen time and time again. He's just no Wallace.
As for his contract, while I don't think it's a great contract in any way, shape, or form, I don't think it's that horrific. Kapono got 6 per, and Carroll can do at least as much as that guy.
This is a tough year to evaluate people. Hopefully, Matt returns to last year's form, where he'd go for 20 on any given night with sharp outside shooting.

No one has been harsher on our players this season than I have, and I know it. I was hard on Ray and Okafor all year long, but in my opinion they both deserved it. That does not mean I dont like the players or appreciate the. But remember, they are grown men, and get paid handsomly for their efforts. They can take the criticism. Dont get your feelings hurt when someone criticizes a player, we are all allowed to vent our frustrations. Heck, if I made $5-$10 mil for the yr, I think I'd expect criticism from some people who thought I should have produced more. Especially if I turned down $13 mil - Mr. Okafor!
My loyalty lies with the Bobcat Team. I love the Team, and the players are only a component of the team. If trading a player is best for the team, I'd do it. If not resigning a player is best for the team, I do that. If having a player retire so we could get a Hardship and sign another player, I'd push for that as well - Mr. Harrington! Whatever is best for the team!
My heart and soul is wedded to the Bobcat's team. Players come and players go, but the Bobcats Team is forever! Keep your focus on what is most important - The Team. Remember, 30 years from now, your grandkids wont know who the heck Crash or J-Rich were, they will only know the players whom they are watching at the Arena or on TV at that time. And, they will know that Team - the Charlotte Bobcats.

this i agree with completely. this is a tough year to be calling someone out. the "on any given night" is a problem for me as it should be every night... but i get the point.
look i like matt and we have to have a back up sg... my problem is really just with the management giving him a 6 year deal worth that much money. I think he is a fine player who plays hard and appreciates the opportunity given to him here. I just dont think he is even close to worth his current contract. thats all... so really im more upset with Managment than i am with any player.
i think we paid for MC's potential which would be ok... if he didnt hit his potential last year.

Your not getting the point. Sorry, but I am trying to say that we are all Cats fans here(obviously...lol) but we seem to be hating on our players to much. Yeah its okay to criticize once in a while if say Adam, Matt, Gerald, J-Rich or whoever else makes a bad decision in a game that causes us to lose or anything that hurts the team BUT we shouldn't put down a guy like matt carroll who works his butt off to help our team because of his contract maybe being to big.
And YES I do know that the NBA is a business.....
no, I am getting the point, but this isnt just a fan club. I like that Mustachio made the post about his contract. I got to express my opinion on the issue, and he got to express his, and we have collectively thought about the issue.
There is nothing wrong with saying Matt who is making more then $5,000,000 this year, has not been performing to that value and discussing why we think that is or whatever, it makes this place what it is. Without that aspect of the forum, it would be really boring.

The Pistons have not thought much of him. No burn what so ever. At the start of the season I thought he rode the seats way too much for our team but with Detroit his ass must be really sore.
I liked the lift Fabio gave us last year but his performance has not persuaded either the Cats or the Pistons to give him playing time. Maybe he was a flash in the pan.

I think if we had a big to command a consistent double team then MC's numbers woud go up to about 12 ppg. With the personnel (and 'coach") we have now he is going to have get less opportunities than last year, since J-Rich is a much better option at the 2.
I think constructive criticism is a good thing for us fans. Its almost like expectations of your family. If you have a brother who you know could be great things academically, but he is getting C's and D's then you get on him with the hopes that something will change. I don't agree with alot of posts, and i know you don't all agree with mine, but sometimes they bring up points you didn't think about, and gives you and a new way of thinking. We all want our team to win, even if there is some criticism of a player we like, but I will take a critical fan to an apathetic one any day of the week, at least they care.
