so far i think Call of Duty 4 is twice as good as GTA 4. GTA is kind of boring once you get over killin anything that moves for no reason. Call of Duty online never gets boring.

try the Bourne Conspiracy demo on PSN. i think the real game is gonna be very nice.

Agreed. GTA IV is well worth it.
GTA IV is great... Its the only game where you can carjack a garbage truck, run down a half dozen cars and pedestrians, escape the police then find an overweight hooker for a little "happy ending".

One question though about 2K8: When you update the Rosters to play online, can you use injured players? For example i know from playing at a friends house that on PS3 when you update the rosters, I cant use Adam Morrison on the Cats, or Bynum on the Lakers.

well I just downloaded and played the ncaa football 2009 demo for the first time and I gotta say it sucks. It seems like they spent more time on the mascot game then improving any of the other features. The graphics and the framerate are trash.

I'm saving money in stock at wal-mart. I've got about 400 invested. So in about 2 more months I'll be able to by one and a few good games. Although I only play nba, and college games. So I might just get a PS2.
and a lot more sports games. I work at wal-mart so I get a 10% discount on everything.

I would if I could use much of it. I have 56K, dial up. I can't get a high speed connection so I doesn't make since to play on line. Which is one of the great things about the ps3. I know it plays blue ray disc, and I wouldn't mind that. But without an HDTV it really doesn't make much of a difference. I'll get one later, when they drop down to about 2hundred. I hope so at least. Then I'll up grade.

I've had my PS3 since Christmas. I must say COD4 is by far one of the best games I've played. Almost as good as SOCOM 2 and 3;)

GTA4 was okay, I beat it in 2 days, and the online games aren't that fun. So basically I play COD4. You can add me, my name is EU4IC.

GTA4 is way better than COD4 for online play. Use of the cover system, vehicles, and gameplay options provide a more varied and dynamic experience.

GTA4? Are you serious? I played it once online and it was nothing on COD4. It was too choppy, too awkward, too unrefined... COD4 is by far one of the smoothest and graphically pleasing games out there.

I never really was much of a sports games guy. I'm an athlete and I love sports, but for some reason I just don't enjoy playing the games:confused:
SOCOM, Rainbow6, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, even Battlefield. Guess that just shows the militarized society we have now-a-days:p

Sucks Resident Evil doesn't come out to next year (I think) but the E3 gameplay video I watched on IGN got my hyped up for the game.

Your right The Evil doesn't come out till March 23 2009. But i have play'd it since 1990 something on three different game systems, lucky #4 will be the PS3. Putting that game on a big HDTV would probably scare my plants and everything else to death. If i can ever buy a controller from a pawn shop i plan on hooking my 8-bit Nintendo up and reliving my childhood on Zelda.

Picked up Madden 09 today and Metal Gear Solid 4 last week.

MGS 4 has been pretty amazing so far. I'm only done with act 1, haven't had much time game. My initial first impression of Madden is 10/10.

Loving it so far the game's presentation it's by far the best in the series EA finally has it looking like what you would expect out of a next-generation game. The gameplay has been refined for the better even though I'm still having trouble running the damn ball :mad: but I'm sure I'll get better as I continue to play more. Also the auto adjusting difficulty based on how you play the game makes the this years version alot more fun and balanced.

With Smitty I'm a beast though nobody can bring dude down in the open field he just breaks tackle after tackle.

1)Jake = 85, Smitty = 98, Peppers = 96, Jon Beason = 93, DWill = 85, Stewart = 83, Moose = 84.

2)They gave us a 86 overall so we are above average on defense and offense I played the best rated team (New England) and I won a close but tough game by field goal against them 23-20.

3)Don't worry they left that out of this years game.

Those are good ratings for the Panthers. Beason was a beast last year, He deserves his 93. Wasn't Jake the snake rated higher on "07". 85 is ok, He's never really been a top flight QB. I'd like them to add in the 4th quater cluth factor for the QB's. In "06" i think Jake lead the league in come for behind victories. This would be a nice addition to future Madden games.

If you knew anything about the MGS series you should of known that's what you were gonna get. It's one of the things that makes MGS so famous and great. It's basically a movie with gameplay thrown in and the production value is absolutely top notch. If you're not impressed with the single player (which can be understandable for someone who wasn't a fan of MGS before) then I suggest playing online, it's a lot of fun and very refined.

My problem with Madden before was that it got to a point to where it was almost scientific. QB vision and seeing from the players POV and all that mess took the fun out of the game for me. I've never been much of a sports games fan since, but if Madden is really back to how it was before being fun for even the casual player then i might go pick it up.

I've been playing the crap out of NBA 2K8. For the first time ever, I may actually complete an 82 game season!

Have the Bobcats at 54-17 so far. Made a trade for Antawn Jamison after both May and Hollins got hurt in the same game.

Wow, that is impressive. I can't handle playing with the same team over and over that long. I play tons of games but I have to switch it up so I'll do a 27 game season or whatever the lowest one is and then the playoffs. By the time the playoffs are over I'm ready to move on to a different team. My last season this year was with the Hornets but I ended up losing in the Conf Finals.

Another thing I like to do is me and my friends will play a season using player lock where we can only control our one guy. We'll pick a random team who's uniforms we like and then do a League draft each choosing a player and a bench player that we want to play with. Each time we'll rotate which one of us gets to pick first so that it's fair in the end. I'm telling you it's a blast and you should try it sometime to change things up a bit.

Won 3 games last night and lost 1 to take me to 57-18. The only move I made roster wise was the Jamison trade and I probably wouldn't have made it if May & Hollins hadn't both got hurt in the same game.

Could've clinched the division if I'd won the last game I played, but I lost on a 3 pointer at the buzzer from just inside half court. I almost lost my composure when it went in.

I usually get bored playing the same team, but for some reason haven't this time.

I won't be getting a basketball game until NBA Live comes out. But even then it might have to wait because hopefully SOCOM comes out within the next 2-12 years

Taking a break from Madden right now I made the playoffs as a wild card team after beating the Aints in the final game of the season. My first playoff game is against the Green Bay Packers (minus Brett I traded him to the Jets) I'm pretty sure it will be a snow game which is a hard game to win especially if you like to run the ball :(

I have to give credit to anyone making through an entire 82 game season. I've only done it once and that was this years 2K8 with that Bobcats. I only lost somewhere around 20 games and won the championship.

Metal Gear is a classic game, I've been playin he series since it was on Nintendo and it's really amazing how video games have changed since then.

Makes you wonder what kinda games will be out for my kids or grands in the future. Can the game get any more real looking? How far are we from virtual reality?

If any of you remember the real first GTA and compare it to the one out now it's like blue ray vs. 8 track

Game freezing on you too? It's happened a couple times to me on the play selection screen I end up having to restart the system to get it going again. It's happening on both the 360 and PS3 versions but runs great on PS2 :mad:

Memory, depends on what you use it for. Casual gamers or people that stick to only a couple games are going to be fine with 40. But I've seen people load up music, pictures, videos, and other things that chop away at memory.

For example, I guess you could say I'm a pretty solid gamer. I have 8 PS3 games and I have the memory from a few PS2 games loaded up. Maybe 5-10 pictures, no music, no videos, etc.

I have 54/74 GB Free Space. (I've had it almost a year)



So basically its up to your needs, you can buy additional external memory and you might come out slightly ahead on the price. But to be on the safe side, pay the extra $100 or whatever it is and get the bigger one

Around $500 , The ps3 was $420 somthing, GTA 4 was $60 something. Plus i had to buy a remote for the DVD part of the ps3 so it got me up to $500.
Yeah i have wireless, I haven't set up an account yet. If i have time on monday i plan to do it.

the 80 model ps3 also plays Super Auido CDs or SACDs which is a nice touch, the 40 doesn't

I am thinking about getting that remote and also a keyboard, only thing is I already have 3 remotes TV, reciever, cable and I am not looking forward to having 4 on the table

I am also thinking of doing the cheap memory upgrade and adding another operating system probably windows for internet surfing and media. I was thinking about getting media pc which I still might for this but upgrading the PS3 would be a lot cheaper plus I wouldn't have to buy another HDMI cable.

Well, for the hell of it I broke my PS3 out of storage a couple nights back and, even though 360 kicks its ass in terms of multiplayer and game library, I'm enjoying it more than I did when I got it last year as a gift.

Only multiplayer game I have right now is COD-World at War (which I have for 360 also....what a moron, right?), but I'll get Resistance 2 eventually. Any other games y'all have that I should get in order to multiplay?
