I've been snooping around different Draft sites to see what people are saying about our selection if we fall in line at #8. I'm starting to see a lot of Darrell Arthur love out there for the Bobcats. Very athletic PF, not a bruiser, but has several aspects to his game which would be helpful to us. Plus, being from Kansas, I know Larry Brown will have some love for him. And, the Bobcats love to have NCAA Champs on the team.

I know he's not the big bruising PF, but he will be a good PF much more swift and athletic. If definitely fits the "running" style we seem to be leaning towards.

What are your initial thoughts on Drafting Darrell Arthur at #8? Do you think we could trade back 5-7 slots and still get him while acquiring another pick?

I think he is a down grade of a Sheldon Williams from Duke.
Physico Hansborough would be a better choice, But no way in hell at eight.
Love is not going to be any thing more than a back up in the NBA. as stronger and more atlathic players abuse him .
The kid Randolph is just a better verison of Davidson both high risk high reward player.
D.J it's no way he compeats with Felton . DJ. look to see a rookie BK .no better no worse. Lawson has more tools and is way futher back in the draft.
Westbrook has a lot of upside and should go befor any of the other players just talked about . Hes a defencive hawk can play the point or the two . He has a place in the Nba but we have no need for him except two back Felton . We in need of a P/F.

I see no real help at all in this draft after the fifth pick . So if the ping pong balls don't fall our way i would strongly consider trading the pick away.
Or drafting Westbrook and trading him away kinda like the J Rich deal.

Couldn't agree more Dav, I think this is a weak draft outside of 1,2 and maybe westbrook and mayo.

Gotta disagree with you. This is a very deep draft. Beasley and Rose are preordained superstars, and all others considered a step down from them. But forget comparisons to who is at the top. When you look at the talent pool, with these young guys having to have a yr of College ball to prepare, it makes for a very deep pool of talent. Sometimes, great ones dont get drafted 1 or 2, and sometimes #1 and #2 turn our to be busts. You just have to look at each individual player and see the talent and take your shot. Remember, MJ went only #3, and players like Tony Parker and Ginobli lasted until late in the 1st round. You just have to have people in your front office who can realize the talent vs the BS.

I can't think of any one out of the top five you don't have to roll the dice on.
Except Westbrook , You know what you getting thair. Thats assuming Bayless, Mayo, Lopez, Rose , and Beasley is the top five. Yes it's a few gems left ,but it's few and far between. See i think CDR and Ellington are sleepers and if around in the 2nd round and we have a pick . They would be steals.

IMO you stay away from Arthur if you are the Bobcats. Other than Defense (which he wasn't the greatest defender) he was not really consistent. People say it's because of the Kansas guard play, but watching pretty much every Kansas games it's not like they didn't pass him the ball, or that he wasn't involved in the offense.. He just wasn't that good..

Im not saying it's not many good players in this draft either. But a lot of unproven players. Personally if we end up with the eighr pick i would try and trade down with the Nets , . Give them the eight pick for the tenth pick and the twenty first pick. I think we still get Westbrook at ten or Randolph.or Love who ever is left. And at twenty one it shouold be a decent big left.CDR, Ellington , Lawson whitch ever way we want to go .
Trading with the Nets could be a good thing.
