ESPN Insider reporting that the Nuggets and Nets are working on the following as a deal:
Melo and Camby would go to the Nets
Denver would receive Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's Contract and the Nets Lottery Pick ( projected to be #10 )
Interesting deal. Would rather not see it strictly from the point of wanting to keep Melo and Camby out West. Any thoughts on this trade if it goes down and how it may impact the Nets as our opponent?

well i'd go from hating the nets to hating the nuggets...due to richard jefferson
but i don't think melo and camby can save that franchise....carter is up there in years and injury prone...camby for that fact is old also
they have a young PG who is still learning...and a myriad of 4s and 5s who have proven to be wastes of space...so unless melo can pull up 35+ a night, i don't see them getting that much better

can you even make trades yet??

:yeahthat:
Sean Williams will really benefit from learning from Camby. I don't see how this deal would improve the Nets that much though.

Well here's my take.....
Jefferson is a slight downgrade from Melo; more talent for Nets but less problems for Nuggets - Nets win
Marcus Williams will be a backup due to Devin Harris - Nuggets win, but Nets didn't need him
Keith Van Horn's contract off books - both win
Nets Lotto pick for Camby - Unsure talent @ 10, and Camby will strengthen the Nets frontcourt, combining with S. Williams - Nets win short term, possibly long term
I think it helps Nuggets long term because they obviously aren't going anywhere with the team they have now. Jefferson can do more things without the ball then Melo can which helps the Nuggets because they don't need two primary scorers, and they have K mart, Kleiza and JR smith.
Nets need someone to replace the primary scoring of Carter because of his age, which Melo does (and Jefferson can't provide). The Nets also had weak front court depth (they started jason freaking collins) which Camby will fix, along with helping develop Sean Williams and Josh Boone.
Nuggets get a starting PG that's a true PG, unlike AI. AI is also getting up in years, and Anthony carter isn't a starter.
The nuggets getting a lotto pick...probably will draft a PF or a big to develop, which helps them.
I think it helps both teams really...

yeah, this is like a nothing for nothing with big names. Sounds like stern trying to ballance things out as far as stars or something? Bad conspiracy theory, but whatever, both teams will continue to make the playoffs and not much else for a while until their aging stars really fall off. Doesn't really get me excited.
