I must admit i smiled when i saw the Immortal Tech video (Cunny too), I love Peruvian Cocaine (?) song (the one with the beat from Scarface where they go to Bolivia). The two genres I listen to the most are are hip/hop and inde folk-bluegrass kind of weird i know.

J Dilla. Galactic. DJ Krush. Beck.

I used to listen to 2pac and Dre and all that, and I still do on occasion, there is no doubt that the emotion and lyrical choices are excellent, but I have sort of evolved beyond them, they always have a place in my iPod though.

I listen to most everything, from hip-hop, reggae, jazz, some rock

my favorite stuff is combining jazz and hip-hop. Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth type stuff or DJ Krush and Toshinori Kondo

Can't go wrong with the old school Black Star, still probably my favorite album ever. 98-02 were my golden years for music, i was in college with nothing to do (relatively speaking), T1 lines in the dorms, napster was still legal, a great time for Hip-Hop in general Mos and Talib were on the top of the world, Quannum/Solesides, Rawkus was still valid, Def-Jux just beginning, it was a perfect storm.

I like music that makes you feel something in your gut. Whether its older stuff like Marvin Gaye's Make me wanna Holler

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qDckI2P_DPA

Gil Scot Heron's The Revolution will not be televised

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uTCQSk2l8bc

Or newer stuff like Common's The Corners

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZztlOiOjo8E

I like music that moves me mentally.

Cool thread. I give you guys all the credit in the world; you're much more diverse than I (and I thought I had a decent range). I have to date myself here (I was a middle and high schooler when this genre was hot)and post my favorite song from the grunge era. If the energy from this song doesn't get you amped, I'm truly sorry...

And it's impossible to go wrong with a classic...
