Discuss... Who would be better for us and which would be easier to bring in? I would think Brand is the better player but how serious is the injury? What would it take to get him? Etc. I think either could be a positive beside Okafor but it really depends on what we have to give up to get either player...

I'd have the team doctor's check Brand out. If they cleared him, he'd be my choice over Boozer in a heartbeat. Brand is tough, and I saw Boozer "disappear" too many times vs the Lakers. Brand is by far a better PF.

either way we are improving our team drastically. Brand is a little older, but id say hes a little more talented as well.

but id take either of em

Brand.

He is better by the fact that he plays D.

I'd actually take Boozer.

Brand may or may not return to peak form. Meanwhile, Boozer is looking more and more like Karl Malone. He'd open things up for Okafor and give us a guaranteed offensive presence inside for years.

Boozer would come at a cheaper price and he would also come with another young player while Brand comes alone with a high price.

Bingo. Brand would cost a LOT.

Rather have him tho...pretty easily.

To be honest, I would take whichever one we could get. Either one would automatically makes us a better team. Brands injury scares me a little bit, but if he's cleared by doctors then I'd give Brand the slight edge over Boozer.

Boozer Boozer Boozer. Great player, great motor as Bilas would say. Brand scares me, big time. I wouldnt want that many leg injuries on our team if James Andrews was the team doctor. And he is really, really good but I just dont like him.

Neither would ever be traded here because they're both Dukies.

J.O. will most likely be leaving Indiana sometime this year and if you think trying to get him is a gamble just wait til he is kicking Bobcats ass while playing for another team. Dismiss me all you want but the reality is that neither Boozer or Brand is likely to leave their current teams. J.O. due to his injuries will most likely come much cheaper anyhow.

The only way j o comes cheaper is if he was cut outright by the pacers. I read a article on inside hoops stating that utah is afraid that the would loose boozer next year and get nothing for him. Why not give them something and hope like hell his family still stays in this area so he would be close to them and we get the homeboy hook up.

Admittedly I've pretty much switched over to all-out Astros baseball mode, especially the wonderful month they've had (Big Puma for NL MVP!!), so maybe I missed something, but are the Jazz shopping Boozer? I can't imagine why they'd do it if they are, but he'd be a phenomenal addition. Also, I'm not familiar with Brand's contract, but if he's not a FA, I'm sure Sterling would be okay with shipping him out for some cheap or expiring contracts and 2nd round draft picks.

I really don't favor one over the other as I think they're both represent our significant missing piece: a offensive post threat that can step out and hit a 12-8 foot jumper and rebound like hell. Actually, now that I think about it, Brand's the one: he's a great shot blocker, has massive wingspan and as "stoney" as Mek's hands are, Brand's are like a catcher's mit. Plus, I think he'd get along slightly better with LB than Boozer.

boozer. better interior scorer, and thats what we need, and he rebounds well. Weve got okafor as the defensive interior, now we need a scorer.

Could you imagine if the balls would have dropped for us, A lineup of

Felts
Mayo
Swish
Boozer
Oka

I'd go with Brand.

05-06 he averaged 24.7 and 10. He also had 2.5 blocks.

Brand can score, is a better defender, has more fire and leadership.

Boozer has had more past injury issues than Brand has, which last year was his first injury year.

Brand is a higher risk, but higher reward also.

Good question. Both of this year's picks plus JD? Nothing realistic, but I just don't want to have to suffer 'Crash withdrawal' anytime soon.
