The more I think about it this is more of our likely scenario. We trade our pick for Charlie V. then we go after Frye and Jack and sign a combo guard like Julius Hodge besides what we get in the draft. Our line up wouldn't be all that bad

Felts / Jack
J Rich / Carrol / Hodge
Wallace / Dudley / FA who can provide a scoring spark if Wallace goes down (2nd pick)
Charlie V / Frye / May / Davidson
Okafor / Nazr / Hollins

This is a solid lineup with our starters and reserves. We have backups that can step in and take the place of our starters in case of injuries. Hodge provides height, defensive skills, and ball handling abilities. Maybe even bring in Arroyo or a vet guard for insurance but someone like Hodge we be okay until injuries force us differently which I hope the injury bug stays away from us this year. Charlie V and Okafor would be like Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace for us. We have a balance of scoring and defensive pressure and if May comes along it's an added plus to our depth.

I would say the most realistic to happen is:

Bobcats draft the best player available at # 8 and no moves at all happen.

this year there just doesnt seem to be anything out there that seems like something the Bobcats would do.

what makes any plan "more realistic"? No one nos what MJ is thinking, what Bob will agree to, or what offers the bobcats receive. In reality, like always, its more of a wait and see thing.

Most realistic to happen: Sean May gets gout

Especially since we are at #9 and not #8. I know Mustachio, wishful thinking. We should have had #8. Damn Bulls!

Let me be the straw that stirs the drink. My guess is there will be preliminary talks of a trade with at least 1-2 teams. It will be one of those deals where it will go down IF a certain player is still on the Board at #9. I think that IF Gordon is there at #9, we draft him and trade Crash for a PF. If that PF is good and solid, but a step below Crash's value, we'll get a pick with him. IF Gordon is gone, but Westbrook is still there, I think Westbrook is the pick. I then think we will package #38 with someone like Ammo or May (preferably May) and move back up into the 18-25 range to grab a Pf/C like McGee/Ibaka/Jawai.

Honestly, as much as we all love Crash, I am getting very jittery over his health. Hell, his nickname is Crash! He hits the floor hard at least 3-4 times per night. All it takes is a little hit of his head on the floor, and he'll be out for 5-7 game stretches more than once this season. Draft a good SG which will allow J-Rich to move to SF, and we can get our veteran PF if we can get the one we want. That is how I am leaning. I'm not happy to say this because I really like Crash. He is the heart and soul of this team. But if he takes a hit and is out several games with another concussion, he is of no use to us on the Court and his Trade value would be completely gone and even worse than Ammo's.

I think for the big picture success of the Bobcats, Crash needs to be moved and will likely be moved.

Well said Ohara...I'm with you.

BTW, nice to see you on RealGM...IMO you handled yourself very well.

Thanks Spectre! I tried to come up with something for them to discuss.

I just read Chad Ford's 2nd Mock. After talking with GM's, he has both Westbrook and Gordon off the table before our pick! He has us going with Brook Lopez who slips to us at #9. Not bad for a #9 pick, but that means moving Okafor to the PF. Is he not more suited for the C? Interestingly enough, he has Golden State taking Love a few pick later. Why do that when they just snagged Brandon Wright? Are they wanting him to play a Center rather than PF position?

I think Mek's gotta be a center. We've seen what happens when he's gotta chase folks outside of his comfort zone. I just looked at Ford's mock and I think it's crazy how far Love's slipped, but what do I really know anyways?

I think we are courting disaster if we try to play Okafor at the PF. He just doesn't have the offensive skills to play that position, and his Defensive presence is really around the paint. If he gets pulled away from the basket, a quicker PF will go right by him.

I argree with the idea of keeping Okafor at C, and if the opposing team has a big man around Shaq's size, we could just put in Nazr at C and Emeka at PF.

As for Charlie V, that would be a great trade for us as i first suggested in the possible trades topic, (trading the #9 pick for him) as he would give us great versatility, being 6-11, can run the floor, and he can hit the 3. It would spread out our offense greatly.

However, I say we give Morrison another year, as he was drafted at #3 for a reason. I heard about his great summer league play last year, and am excited to see what he can do on the court with 2 years of experience now. All i can say is he better be working on that defense of his this offseason though.

As for PG depth, i say sign Chris Duhon (as much as that hurts me to say being a UNC fan and all). And in the 2nd round of the draft, just go for the best available player. That would give us:

PG: Felton/Duhon
SG: J Rich/Carroll/2nd round pick?
SF: Wallace/Morrison/Dudley
PF: Charlie V/May/Jamareo
C: Emeka/Nazr/Hollins

P.S. Not a big Julius Hodge fan; he's got a big mouth and is a step to slow to guard NBA sg's.

1288 Welcome to Bobcatsplanet. I would love to have Charlie V. . A trade was all most made last year May for Charlie V straight up . But i don't think May could have passed the physical last year.
Charlie V is back in the rotation for the Bucks and it don't seem to he has much of a fucture for him with them.
May and a second round pick might just land him.
Thoughts......
Then we could go after Mayo , Gordon or Westbrook.

Charlie V. for May and #38 would be a steal. Like taking candy from a baby. I cannot believe they would let him go for just that, but who knows.
