Way to go, Ty! You start to solidify your place in the 1st round, then go out and do something stupid. When you are on the verge of getting a nice NBA contract, dont sit in a car playing loud music while you are drunk!!!
I hope you dont go in the 1st round. As a matter of fact, I hope you stay around until - oh, say pick #38! Then, I'll forgive you - you big dummy.
Edit: It is a DWI. Damn, I'm named after him on the Planet. I'm gonna have to do more to work my way up to another starter!!

He actually got charged with drinking after driving b/c he is not 21 yet. He was below the legal limit, but was popped b/c he was under 21. He likely had ONE drink and drove.

He's about to get drafted and sign a very nice Contract to play a great game. Underage and want to drink? Go home, and drink all you want. Just stay home so the cops wont have to worry with you. Please.

So you know, I'm not saying he wasn't wrong. He was. However, your report is misleading. They didn't charge him with DWI b/c he was below the legal limit. His crime was the fact that he did this 5 months before he turned 21. If he were 21, there is no driving after drinking charge. That said, again, he is responsible for his actions and he has to know to be on his Ps and Qs and not take any chances on anything.

Could be good news for us. Perhaps he decides to stay in the draft and his stock slides to us in the 2nd round OR he decides to come back to UNC for another year with my beloved Tar Heels and pick up a national title. If either scenario happens I will be happy. I do feel for Ty, but his dumb mistake could be our gain.

On another note I just realized I am at the beach now, what the hell am I doing posting now? I guess I am just another sports nerd like us here on bobcats planet, I guess I will enjoy the rest of my time on the atlantic ocean sipping on cocktails.

Watch out. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Remember a month ago Cedric Benson of the Bears gets nabbed for Boating While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest. Raised a big stink about how he was innocent. Here he goes, only one month later, and popped for a Drunk Driving charge early this morning (Saturday). When you have these kind of issues, you need help.
I'll say this much. These NBA teams put too much $ into players not to check them out extremely thoroughly. I'll guarantee you teams thinking of taking him have people talking to anyone up at UNC who knew Ty well, and find out if he was a frequent at parties, did they often see him drunk, etc... If I heard about him being known as a party person, I would absolutely pass, even in the 2nd round. But if this is just a one time thing, just a mistake in his judgment when his judgment has usually been good, then I have no issues taking him late first or early 2nd. People make mistakes, especially when they are just out of their teens.

Dude, you missed the Nuggets camp on Sunday? What the hell are you thinking? Are you still drinking? Get your crap together because these kind of headlines are only going to drop you further in the Draft. Any more, and you need to pull out and go back to school. I mean, dang it Ty, get it together!

Ty withdrew his name today and is coming back to UNC as well as Danny Green and Wayne Ellington. It is a good day to be a heels fan, next year almost won't even be fair. Anything less than a title will be a disappointment.
