Being realistic what is your wish list picking at number nine in the draft. Who is your top three picks , Let see if Bobcatsplant can pick our pick this year.
1.Randolph is my first choice
2.Westbrook is my second
3 Love is my third

1) Anthony Randolph -Would bring the type of versatility for a big man that we have never had before in Bobcats uniform. Huge question marks on whether he can bulk up or not but his skill set for a 6-10 guy in the videos I've seen would be to much to pass up on even at only 197 pounds.
2) Kevin Love - Would be for the Bobcats what a healthy May was would be an immidiate starter at the 4 spot.
3) Russell Westbrook - Sick combo guard for us to spell either Felton or JSwish and in the future could possibly be a starter at the two spot in the future for us.

Scratch Love off your list. He must have a promise, likely at #5 from Memphis. He cancelled his visit with Nets at #10, and he isn't coming in to Charlotte.
1. Eric Gordon: put him at SG, move J-Rich to SF and trade Crash for a solid PF
2. Randolph - strictly going on potential, but he wont make a big difference this season which will hurt us. But 2 years from now, we may love him.
3. Westbrook - he's too good to pass on if all others are off the Board.
4. If all above gone, might as well take a flyer on DeAndre Jordan.

1. Anthony Randolph
2. Russell Westbrook
3. Joe Alexander - not because we need yet another wing, but he may be the best thats left on the board if Randolph and Westbrook are off the board.

Good thread, dz! I'm not so modest as to think my predicting us taking JD at 22 last year had nothing to do with this ;) (I promise, I'll eventually let that one go, but damn, that was sweet to be so right on a pick that was not a gimme!)
I'll approach this as a pure wish list, meaning, who I want us to take, not necessarily who I think we'll take:
1. WESTBROOK!!!! I want RW more than I wanted Corey Brewer last year, and I was pretty high on him (no, turns out it wasn't my finest moment). I just see GW in a smaller package, with handles, athleticism, strong finishes at the rim. His shot needs some work, but the same thing was said about B Diddy when he came to the Hornets in '99; I see us potentially grooming him for the job, like Silas did BD.
2. Eric Gordon. He doesn't have the "it" that Westbrook has for me, mainly a tenacious defender with a nice wingspan for his size, but his offensive package is more polished, and he could serve a similar purpose as Westbrook, but just not as well, in my opinion.
3. Anthony Randolph. Long and limber with decent skill set and exceptional potential. I really like Demareo, but and he has some fine qualities, but we've never had a player in this mold with the potential Randolph has. Really, the draft has screwed us in the past, why can't we luck up and get a guy who develops into a KGish 4, and take this franchise to the next level?

assuming rose, beasley, mayo, bayless and love are gone... i will be happy with gordon, westbrook, lopez, dj or randolph. either way, we will have our choice of 2 of the above players when we pick.
first talent drop-off is after 2, second talent drop-off is after 5, third talent drop-off is around 10, fourth talent drop-off is after 14 (after gallinari, alexander, jordan and arthur).

Well Love and Gordon will be off the board...
My hope is that Randolph is there for us, though I'm doubtful of that as well...
1. Randolph
2. Jordan (might as well drink the Kool-aid)
3. Westbrook
Alexander would be fine as well.
I think I'm losing interest in Westbrook. He seems like a tweener, not a good PG and not a great shooter for a SG; good defender though, and very athletic.
If we do trade the pick, I just hope its for someone fairly exciting, like JRich last year. I hate to waste the opportunity...
...and I see Chad Ford STILL has us picking Lopez in his Mock 5.0 which is nearly infuriating. He's staying with his "Bobcats want to move Okafor to Forward" BS. I do not want the Bobcats to pick Brook Lopez.

I've been wanting to post my wish list for some time now, but my lack of knowledge of most college players and the total confusion I'm suffering from the workout rosters we've been having have kept me from posting.
Anywho, here goes:
1. Randolph
2. Love
3. Jordan
I'm not married to that list or the order, but those are guys that could help us a lot. Westbrook sounds great and all, but we need a PF in the worst way. 8 more days 'til we know what we get.

1. Lopez
2. Hibbert
3. Koufos
I don't want any more 2's or 3's. We have too many as it is!!

1. Kevin Love - A versitale big who could really help Emeka out alot...
2. Kosta Koufos - I really like this guy. I have watch alot of tape on him today and he could be a superstar in the NBA.
3. Eric Gordan - He woud start at the 2 guard but could potionally take Ray's spot at the 1.

1-Westbrook:As a rookie, should be a good one on one wing defender who injects energy off the bench...potentially could become another Baron...maybe? 2-Trade back with the Suns for Koufos: The Suns want another pick right? Maybe they could settle with parting with a player(Barbosa?) and trading first round picks...Might take a little time, but could definitely see Koufos-Mek as a Okur-Ben Wallace type duo. 3-Lopez-Honestly, I would be alright with this pick, I don't believe it could put us over the top. but it would give us a solid bookend beside Okafor If Love did somehow drop to us though, I would start crying like KG and tell a random woman, "you're looking good tonight girl" http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/vb/images/smilies/smiley.gif

You'll have to pardon my cynicism, but I've become increasingly more skeptical about those highlight videos. The more I see, the more I feel that the right music can make anyone look like a baller.
I mean, these kids are in line to get drafted by the NBA. It's not like any of them flat-out suck.
In any case, Koufus could be really good. Teams have been praising his workouts.

yeah youtube
good source and a bad source.
good in that there is a lot of stuff, bad in that its mostly all highlights so you dont get the full picture. But that doesnt really matter. He is a beast
1 - Randolph
2 - Westbrook
3 - Ajinca
Although at this stage I think I have Randolph 1a and Westbook 1b (but that is not allowed. I have to choose one or the other for the #1 spot)

This is my core of players also I just have Ajinca 2nd and R.W. at the 3rd spot I'm loving everything I read about this guys game. He seems to be able to do everything Randolph can do and already has the NBA body (not a huge frame but not rail thin either) we would hope Randolph can gain.

After hearing about Randolph's demeanor and really being raw, I think that I'd rather trade down, nab a player (pg) and draft Koufos, Darrell Arthur, or Speights.
I personally think that Phoenix or Portland are the most likely trade avenues.
My dream, however, would be to trade with Golden State. We get the 14th pick and Marco Belinelli; in return we give them the 9 and either our 2nd round, expiring contracts, etc. We already have a working relationship with Rod Higgins and traded with GS last year. With the 14th pick we take the Best big available.
With Swish and Hammer on the roster, why would you want Belinelli? If we made that trade with the GSW's I would rather B.Wright coming back our way.

True, I agree I'd rather had Wright. However, Bellinelli can play the point and is a good leader. If we could nab Wright awesome, if not Bellinelli would be our backup PG and we always need shooters.....he'd be an excellent starting SG with Jrich focusing more on driving the lane; if not then we have more guys that can hit from 3 range and you can never have too many shooters.

Jordan
Westbrook
Randolph
on a side note if we could get Belinelli I'd be very happy, he is a very good leader and would love to have him on our team. Not to mention his shooting touch, makes JJ redick look like Ed Cota. lol

+1. We've all seen how well the Bobcats do when they have good spacing, and conversely, how bogged down/lousy they do when they don't. Belinelli can play the point, or slide over the the 2. He is one of the better 3 point shooters, something the cats were in short supply of once Hermann got traded, and Adam went down.
One could argue that Marco is just a better handling/passing Matt Carroll. But Matt is stronger, better D, and can only run the point in a pinch. At 14 Koufos would make the most sense, energizing the Greek community, as a 7 footer, he can spread the floor, allowing space for Crash and J Rich to operate. But Arthur, Alexander, Jordon, Hibbert would be OK too.
May has dropped 15 lbs, and says he wants another 15-which will be twice as difficult to loose. In an ideal universe, he would come back healthy, in shape, to start, and give the Bobcats rebounding and mid range shooting. He also works well with Ammo ;>)
Belinelli reminds me of everything that Jazzy Cabbages was meant to be.....................but never was.
