Those were my exact thoughts last week when I heard that he was hired as head coach of the Bulls.

Both had limited coaching experience (none in Vinny's case) and were hired because he knew the right people.

Does anyone else see this being a disaster for the Bulls?

My first thought was "and they said Bob Johnson was cheap!".

It's amazing to me that an owner could make that much money off of a team and care so little for the development of a nice young core of players that he'd let salary be a chief factor in determining the coach.

Anyway, getting Ben Wallace was what really screwed them up last year and now he's gone. Of course Hughes isn't reported to be a coach's dream either, so Del Negro still won't have it quite as easy as the Idiot did. We had no cancerous type players other than maybe Touche'...but why would he bitch since he's the only coach that would ever give him starter minutes?

I think it all depends on whether Del Negro listens to his players, plays to their strengths and implements an easy but effective system that they all can buy into. At his presser I think he said a faster offense but respectable D. I think the Idiot said similar, but at least Del Negro came from that system.

He'd have to be really bad to = the Idiot. It's going to depend a lot on what moves Paxson makes this season including who he picks 1st.

we will see wont we. If he runs three guys who are less then 6 foot then yeah he is. God I still remember Boykins, Felton, and McInnis on the floor at the same time. I wanted to tear my eyes out.

Since they are both rookie coaches to a young group, we may consider them as equal. At least I believe the outcome will be the same. Del Negro has front office experience, but not coaching. Paxson will regret about this decision.
