Interesting. Not sure we need to move up for them, but interesting none the less

The heat were looking at Bayless too! Maybe we go to #5 to get Bayless and then trade with Miami for Beasley??!!!!

i dont like the sounds of this. taking Kevin Love at 9 kind of lessens any bust potential he might have. Trading 2 first round picks or players to move up to 5 puts all that bust potential right back on him.
I get the feeling that if this is true we will trade the #9 and a player (probably Ammo) for the 5 and keep the 20 and 38. or package those two and move back up higher.

The only way I would be ok with moving up the the #5 would be if this happend:
We trade #9 and McMay to the Grizzlies for the #5 and Cardinal.
Then at #5 we draft Bayless.
Then we trade Bayless, Ammo and the #20 to the Heat for Beasley.

Pretty much agreed. I'll take the 5th, but only as a stepping stone to the top 3.

agreed with you all...i rather not trade up just to guarantee love or westbrook...bayless is great though, but idk...i'd rather not trade up just for him if we need to trade our 20...
only for beasley in the end IMO

I sure don't want to trade 9 and extras to get to 5 and draft Westbrook. He will be a bench guy. I just can't see why the Cats would do that. They need a starting PF who can score, either Beasley(I wish) or Love(I think he will be really good).

I love Slams idea but I'm wondering if we did move up would it just be a pick switch with 9 going to Memphis and us getting the 5 pick and we keep 20 and 38 I'd take Bayless at 5 and than Big Roy at 20.

If this team takes Westbrook or Love they can rot in hell.

Wasn't it even a switch? I think he's talking about 5 for GW straight up (he goes on to mention that this is cool capwise).
Still, It boils down to something like Wallace for Love or Westbrook. I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm pretty sure that that's not worth it. There's got to be a somewhat lesser commodity that we could trade. Hate to see any of these guys go, but what about Matt (whose contract decreases, something that Memphis will like) for the 5th? I don't know, would we need to throw in #9 or #20 to make it work? How about Matt and #38?
Could you imagine having picks 5, 9 and 20?

if we trade GWallace for 5, the only thing that would make this worthwhile would be to trade the 5 & 9 for the 3rd or 2nd pick (heat are interested in bayless and could nab him with the 5th pick) so we can get beasley...then use the 20 & 38 for big man and backup pg or something...
i really hope we don't trade wallace though :(

that would be awesome. as much as we would love it, Matt and the 38th for 5 wouldn't work.
Matt, May and the 38th for 5 sounds better and we give up nothing but backups.

LOL if they even consider giving up the 5th for those offers...i'd take those trades in a heart beat...if we couldn't package the 5 pick to move up to 3 or 2, then we could at least get bayless or westbrook...which would basically be trading matt or may (or both) for westbrook/bayless/love...which would be fine with me...

I'm guessing you guys wouldn't like this. I don't like this idea one bit.

#5 and Brian Cardinal for #9, #20, and Sean May
This is interesting to me. If you think that those five contender at #5 are of roughly equal value, then you can still get one of them at #9. Why not do so and also pick up #20, which could net Courtney Lee or some other similarly promising prospect? If you can make the upgrade — on court and on the books — of Cardinal for May as well, then all the better.
The question is: Who would Charlotte be taking at #5? The suggestion is Westbrook or Love. If it's Westbrook, then there's a good chance Love slides to #9, in which case I love this trade. If it's Love, then one of Westbrook, Gordon, or Gallinari should be there at #9.
As a back-up plan to not getting Michael Beasley, I think this could be a good trade.
That's all for now. Not sure if I'll be able to post again before the draft starts, but I hope to. Still haven't written much lately about candidates at #28 (or #20) and I'm sure there will be a lot of news and rumor breaking as the day progresses.
Enjoy Draftmas!
EDIT: Sorry that I didn't seen this at the other thread

from that article writer's philosophy, why wouldn't we just stick with our 9 and 20 since either westbrook or love would slip to 9 anyway...this is not guaranteed though, but just judging from the writer's philosophy, we should just stick with 9 and 20

Chad "fivehead" Ford just wrote this in his chat.
Mike (Charlotte, NC): The Bobcats just picked up #20. Is the plan to package with #9 and try and move up, or sit back and hope Hibbert falls to them at 20?
http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Chad Ford: (1:31 PM ET ) They have been trying to move up as well, but I'm not sure how far #9 and #20 can get them. Their targets are Kevin Love or Russell Westbrook. They'll be stuck if both of those guys are off the board at No. 9 and could just swing for the fences and try to grab Anthony Randolph here. At 20 ... they'll go Roy Hibbert if he's there. If he's gone, I've heard Jason Thompson of Rider or Alexis Ajinca.
personally i dont think he even bothers to research the Bobcats. but if this is the latest news, then all the tradenics are gonna be pissed.
would you guys be ok with Randolph at 9 and Hibbert/Ajinca at 20?

I would be real happy actually if Anthony Randolph pans out he COULD be one of the top prospects to come out of this draft I'm still on his bandwagon to be honest. And I'd take Hibbert at 20 Ajinca and Randolph might be a little too similar. And yea I don't think he watches much Bobcats B-Ball sense he swore up and down Lopez would be such a great compliment to Mek I just don't see how neither will probably be able to guard the guys we have problems with (Bosh, Boozer, D12, Yi's etc)

Can you imagine if we trade G-Force for the #5? That would be awesome! We draft love at #5, Westbrook, Gordon or Augustin at #9, and Hibbert, Ajinca, or Robin lopez at #20!!!!!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That wouldn't be the worst draft we could have. I'm not pissed at the idea of Ajinca at 20, and I've thought Randolph was the guy at #9 for a while. Then again, I've heard so many conflicting reports on these guys lately that I'm not sure who's up and who's down.
I think it's still possible that Love is around at #9, but it's more likely that we'd have someone like Randolph or BGA (best guard available).

Just throwing this out here, but what about this:
Mike Miller
#5
Cardinal
for:
Wallace
#9
Mcmay
Reason being is that Miller would be our 2, slide J-rich over to the 3 and draft Love, Bayless, or whoever. We then draft doc Hibbert @ 20. I doubt Memphis would take on any contracts with the same size as Miller's, especially for a longer period of time. Who knows, though?

I'm cringing at the thought of Miller & Swish together on the same team playing (or should I say trying to play) defense.
We'd be a force offensively though.

That would be a team with great offense, but the D worries me. But I am all against Anthony Randolph. Not only is he dropping in the mocks, but almost every reliable expert I've seen/heard, Bilas and others from ESPN, NBA Radio FCP guys, and others almost to a man says this guys scares them as being a major bust. Bilas said the guy has "no basketball skills at this time - it's all potential based on his athleticism. Cannot see taking him at #9. Maybe if he falls to #20 he's worth a shot, but not at #9.

Agreed. However, Crash was the same way, but fell to 25.

isn't miller taller/bigger than Jrich, so wouldn't he play the 3?
anyway, i'm not sure about trading GW for #5...idk...i mean, it sounds good when you say we get: love, westbrook, and hibbert....but when you break it down like "GW for Love or GW for westbrook straight up," it doesn't sound as sexy :(
