Could be part of the deal with Memphis for #5. And getting #5 could be big. We'd get Bayless and Miami looked strongly at Bayless so that may lead to the Beasley trade!

I really don't understand the reasoning Felts is mentioned unless we have plans on bringing in Billups or someone. No way does Brown survive the season going with a rook PG.

But if Felts has been mentioned could it be in regards to Miami's 2? They need a PG pretty badly too. I just see it as being very hard to fill out the roster if we suddenly need a starting PG without creating yet another hole.

Unless we see Beasley as a 3?

Trade Ammo/Felts/9th for 2nd/Banks (not checking salaries)

Trade Crash for Billups (maybe a reach)...20th we take Hibbert, 38th BPA

Billups/Banks/38th pick
Swish/Hammer
Beasley/Duds
Mek/Davidson
Nazr/Hibbert/Hollins

?

I don't see it, but I can't say I would be shocked either. It's funny to watch a guy take such a disproportionate amount of the blame for an expansion team not breaking every expansion winning record.

Look at Chauncey's numbers before Brown and compare them to Felton's. Heck, look at Chauncey's the season he won Finals MVP and look at Felton's. The problem is not the pg. The problem is the mismatching of surrounding pieces and skillsets along with the lack of direction from the top.

Hey I'd keep Felton and try this:

Felton
Swish
Crash
Beasley
Mek

Adding a scoring PF like beasley would open up the offense so much and would allow the entire team to flow more evenly. Remember the few games May was healthy and we played so well? I can only imagine a much more talented PF that is healthy always and drool.

Maybe in some form....

Miami gets 5 and 9
Memphis gets Ammo, May, 20 and dumps Cardinals contract
Bobcats get 2 and Cardinal

Sounds like alot form the Cats but you have to pay to play.

Bonnell's latest blog clears up a little on why Felts' name popped up:

The Bobcats have been assessing the value of their players in trade, a fairly common practice around draft time. Based on the impressions of several NBA sources, the following patterns have emerged:

If the Bobcats have an untouchable right now, it’s Jason Richardson. They have virtually no willingness to trade him.
They’re not nearly as interested in moving Raymond Felton as some Felton-bashers might think.
Gerald Wallace or Emeka Okafor could be had by another team (though with Okafor – a restricted free agent – that would have to be a sign-and-trade). That doesn’t mean either one is being shopped, but they’re available.
The injured forwards, Sean May and Adam Morrison, could easily be thrown into anything to make a deal work.

They're not shopping Felts unless a "no brainer" deal comes along. More than likely they're trying to get a feel about his contract this summer.

I'd be willing to move felts for the right offer...yes he's a pretty good PG and could be even better under LB, but if he can't improve his shooting, i'm willing to trade him for something else we want and eventually get a PG that can spread the defense as well as distribute...

I hope to god we not even thinking of taking on Marions contract . After he just turned down a 17 milion dollar quilifing offer.
Felton , May , Morrison , and probely Harrington and our ninth pick.
for Marion.
And i have no idea what kind of contract he would command.

No thanks on Marion in any format. I'll draft any one of the bigs before I take him.

(http://www.gastongazette.com/sports/bobcats_21982___article.html/draft_state.html)Richard Walker of Gaston Gazette: (http://www.gastongazette.com/sports/bobcats_21982___article.html/draft_state.html) "With veteran coach Larry Brown at the helm and owners Michael Jordan and Bob Johnson eager for returns on their investments, many around the league are intrigued by what the Bobcats may do. Some consider this a desperate franchise that could do anything tonight."

jeez. That's the kind of thing that'll make certain muscle groups involuntarily clench, for sure.

I'm all for making a big move, but let's be sure it's the move we wanna do and not just shake things up for the sake of shaking things up.

Good find, Mustachio. I absolutely agree with Walker and other media folk that this is the biggest draft in the franchise's history. It's like I was saying beginning in late January, this is the biggest offseason in the team's history, and the draft is a big part of that. I'm glad that they recognize the urgency, but I'd still be surprised if not shocked if they make any significant move. That said, this predraft has been nuts, so there's no telling...
