Charlotte Bobcats managing partner Michael Jordan confirmed to the Observer on Thursday that they were talking to the Raptors about a swap of Wallace and point guard T.J. Ford. The talks apparently hit a snag when Toronto additionally asked for a draft pick. Instead, the Raptors are moving Ford to Indiana in a trade involving forward Jermaine O'Neal.
The salaries for Wallace ($9.5 million) and Ford ($8.77 million) are close enough that the deal easily could have worked under salary-cap rules. Wallace is to make $9.5million each of the next four seasons.
It's clear the Bobcats are looking to reshape their roster. Multiple league sources confirmed that the Bobcats spent the days leading up to the draft assessing trade value for all their veterans.

WOW, that would have been a horrible move for us. If that deal would've gone down then MJ would've officially been an idiot in my book.
Thank God we went with DJ instead!!
DJ and Crash on the team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TJ and Crash NOT on the team!!

Definitely agree on that. Although, we'd have drafted someone other than DJ with the 9th then.

Wallace for TJ Ford and the Raptors wanted a pick and thats what blew the trade up. Dear God, that would have been horrible.

I think, per the Raptors RGM site, it was nixed because the Bobcats didnt want to include a 2nd round pick. Something doesnt sound right at all. Like I said LB must not like Felton one bit.

wow that would have been a horrible trade i think. i think our PG is more than good enough. maybe even too good which will cause the dreaded PG position battle (i.e. ford vs. calderon). its always hard to keep two really good PGs on one team for long because they will both feel like they should be the main leader of the team...and next thing you know, felton will volunteer to play SG again so he keeps all of his playing time.
TJ Ford is worse than Felton, why in the hell would Jordan even think of such a stupid trade??? Is he this freakin' retarded?

maybe Crash has serious enough health concerns that moving him was our best option?
If Crash only had one arm though... it still would have been a bad trade.

Confirmed....the Bobcats are a stupid franchise. The sports pundits are right.
