Coach Brown is coaching in Vegas for us if I'm not mistaken right? I can't wait to see our draft picks and if our guys from last year that will be playing there have improved or not.

I really am stupid excited about this. I just hope the video is better than Orlando's, i dont even mind the tool bag commentators as long as the video is decent.

* EDIT - just watched some NBA.com summer league video from last year and i am very encouraged. it looks like most games have normal tv coverage like a real game gets. announcers and multiple cameras. replays also. thats awesome.

also, if you get a chance and you wanna see some summer league highlights, do yourself a favor and check out last summer leagues top ten plays. Rudy Gay has a dunk on Yi that is just disturbing.

go here and click the link on the right that says top ten vegas highlights. its worth it. http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/

Ex-Canes file: The Heat spoke with ex-Clippers guard Guillermo Diaz, but he joined Charlotte's summer program instead.

Do you guys remember him from Miami? Seems to be a "Bayless" type player...short, sweet stroke, can penetrate at will but so-so PG skills.

All I know is that he has some major ups for a guy that's only 6"1 our SL team should be very fun to watch.

It's of course too late now, but I'm wondering if it would be fun to go to Vegas for summer league. I know Vegas is fun, but can you get tickets easily? Totally random and I'm really just looking for an excuse to go to Vegas.

He was that kid who played volley ball, has a 42" vert but hurt his knee?

Wow, are we ever going into SL heavy at the point spot!!

DJ, Weaver, Greene and now Diaz?

P.S. I think I remember reading a few years back that Diaz didn't have a good grasp of the English language and that was holding him back.

I might be wrong though?

Diaz is worth a shot on his penetration ability alone. I dont think he has a shot in hell of making the roster. or any of the add ons... but like i said. worth a shot.

Ah yeah...now that you mention it I do seem to remember that. They should be coming out with a list soon.

Already starving for some Bobcats' basketball.

Agree 100%.

Although I doubt Felts plays SL and if he does, it will probably only be for one game like last year.

Even still, I would rather just go to SL with Dj and Weaver at the point.

Othella Hunter is playing SL with us.

I like him a lot. He reminds me a lot of Crash. Super athletic and pretty explosive.

I was going to say a bit smaller (frame wise), more offensive Joey Dorsey. He's a beast on the boards, has defensive intensity and draft express said he has added a few more post moves to his game than he did when Oden was at OSU which is the only time I really got to watch Othello. I think he has a good chance to make our roster.

slam, you are right... diaz was once a world class volleyball player before he got into hoops. dude had major hops and then hurt his knee. i'm sure he still has great hops though. he was always fun to watch at miami. i'll be rooting for him.

Oh good; I hadn't heard that. (Where do we get the roster list for the summer league?) He's a local product from just up the road from me in Winston Salem, and you're right, he is a hard worker who has been real productive considering he didn't start playing ball til his junior year at Reynolds, I believe, and backed up the highly touted Oden and Koufus the last two years with much success. I wish him the best!

Living in Columbus I got to see a lot of Hunter. He was a beast on the glass and was always effective when playing. I'd take him on the roster as the 12th man.

I used to go to Reynolds and remember trying out for the basketball team when it had not just Hunter, but Reyshawn Terry on the team...Othello was a beast on the boards no doubt, he had so much energy in transition that it was ridiculous, I hope he gets on the team...just for the hope he remember the guy whose shot he pinned against the backboard and give me some free tickets!

Augustin got a lesson in risk-taking at the Bobcats' first practice. He tends to dribble along the sideline, where it's easier to protect the ball from defenders. Assistant coach Phil Ford wants him in the middle, where he can exploit more of the court.

“It's more dangerous out there,” Ford joked of dribbling in the middle of the court. “That's why they're paying you all that money.”

Best thing about that? As we found out this week, last year Ford wouldn't have been allowed to say a freaking thing under the Idiot.

At the very least having LB there allows the players to potentially be the best they can be.

Thought I would go ahead and post this it's the Las Vegas Summer League stream just copy and paste it into Windows Media Player and reset your buffer to 30 seconds (Go to Tools, Options, Performance tab) all of the games there should show up on this stream this weekend.

http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia-live/nba/11562/500_nba-liveevent_060611.asx

Sadly though they don't have any announcers calling the games out there.

Anthony Randolph looked VERY good in his summer league debut 30 points, a couple blocks and 8 boards.

Another good game from both JD's and looks like Ajinca got on the board for more than 3 pts. Needs to improve his shooting % though.

Did anybody watch today? I missed todays but Ajinca looked lost out there yesterday. DJ with another solid game.

Dudley didn't play at all, Ajinca looked miles better today blocking shots (one was very much like the Crash block on Ronnie Brewer from last year) and showing some nice post moves, DJ attacked the rim really well today and set people up for the most part but they had a hard time finishing which resulted in him having another 2 dime game. And also Davidson once again looked like our best guy out there IMO I expect big things from him this upcoming year.

As for the free agent guys trying to make the team Othello Hunter and Greene stood out the most today.

I've missed all week, but this post makes some promising points.

How has Weaver done? I saw the Clips stats thanks to Bumpus (loving those 8 boards in 22 minutes by Davidson!) and that didn't look so hot, but how has his D looked? I've seen all the stuff on DJ (not worried about assists...LOVE his good shooting). Weaver's our best shot at having a good guard defender, and we're going to need that this year.

I'm cautiously hoping Davidson can play some minutes for us this year. I think he said he gained like 20 lbs.

As far as D when they got minutes I've been the most impressed with Dream Weaver and Ajinca the most. Weaver seemed to do a solid job containing Marco Benneli who was on fire Tuesday night when other guys on our team were guarding him for some reason Weaver didn't start to guard him until the second half if I remember correctly. I'm looking forward to seeing how he D's up another very good offensive player in Rodney Stuckey tonight. I think he'll only get better and become the lock down guy we've never had when he starts to bulk up. Davidson looked great the first two games on offense (he's put the ball on the floor quite a few times instead of just settling for the little jumper we saw a lot last year, pretty much flawless at the line and he's also shown some good big men to big men passing skills to Ajinca) but sadly our coaches didn't give him enough burn against the Hornets to be a factor in that game.

Ajinca showed a nice passing touch on one of his assists to a cutter down low early in the first half.
