If MJ has fallen out of favor with Crash, which I think he did make a bad move by publicly saying he was almost traded for TJ then I would want to leave myself. Crash would have to watch his back if Kurt Rambis made a comeback. The Clips are going to let Maggette go now that they have BD. Send Crash to the Clips for Maggette and Thornton. This will give us a sg/sf and a pf. Maggette could move to the 2 and defend the opposing teams best sg or sf. He has good height and is still fairly young. Thornton was a beast at Floirda State. He can step away from the basket and score.
Felts / Augustine
Maggette / Carroll / Weaver
J Rich / Dudley / Ammo
Thornton / May / Davidson /
Okafor / Nazr / Ajinca
Or we could go to GSW for Al Harrington, Wright and POB for Crash, Ajinca and a pick. Then search for the best sg or sf we could get via free agency. Either way it goes we have got to make a move early because everyone is getting swept away quickly and if we don't we are stuck with what we have which isn't bad but if you can make adjustments and help your team you have to get better.

Ajinca's not going anywhere, he was just drafted. If he was going to be traded, it would have happened draft night...

I would like the maggette + thornton for wallace deal, but wouldn't that mean they would have to resign maggette? I dont think they're doin that

Yeah, in order to sign BD the clips had to renounce the rights to Maggette making him an unrestricted free agent. So, he's not available for sign and trade.

I really don't think the Bobcats would improve at all by trading Gerald Wallace he is becoming a very good player and he's also a fan favorite. If they want fans to buy tickets and come to their games they better keep players who the fans know and want to stay around. I don't think the Bobcats would make any trade that would move Jason Richardson from SG to SF with how well he played last year at SG. The Bobcats finally got a good head coach in Larry Brown so we are better just by saying bye bye to Sam Vincent and getting one of the greatest basketball coaches to ever walk the planet. The Bobcats just need a good big man so they can move Okafor from the 5 to the 4 where he is more effective. The playoffs are not too far away if we could just find an inside presense to help Okafor.
Maggette is said to have the same level of BBIQ as a house brick.
He's not what we need at the 2 IMO.

I don't wanna lose Ajinca yet. I think he has massive potential. much more so than Wright.
And theres a saying in soccer that a bad manager can make a team 30% worse, while a good manager can make a team 5% better.
we just brought in Larry Brown while getting rid of Sam Vincent. So if the saying is true, that means we will be 35% better next year...just walking in the door. 35% better in the East is a 4 seed. I say lets let this play out. See what we really have before we go shipping anyone off or bringing players in.

I've said it before and I will say it again: No trading Gerald, he modeled the uni's at the unveiling before we had played a game! He's my guy! I don't see a whole lot out there better than him for his price, I know the injury thing and all that, and so what if Jordan blurted out he shopped him for TJ Ford, which I think I actually did see on draft night on News 14, but who knows I was blitzed after the 20 pick of Ajinca.

I agree with your acessment, thats 35% better than last years team plus the 3 new pick ups, no McInnis, no Harrington, Id say 40% better at least than last season and how many more wins that gives us who knows? Keep our fingers crossed that May and Morrison will be able to return and contribute good minutes and not sit on the side lines still injured....

I would still love to see the addition of one more big piece but I just don't think it can happen. Sheed would fit our system perfectly.
Does anyone know exactly how the MLE works? Is it a contract w/ base year salary, so $5.8 mil annually for however many years offered or can you back load a deal? (like offering Monta Ellis 3 yr. and $20 mil with the first year being full MLE)

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#19
It may be used for contracts of up to five years in length, and raises are limited to 8% of the salary in the first year of the contract. Signing a player to a multi-year contract does not affect a team's ability to use this exception every year. For example, a team can sign a player to a five-year contract using this exception and still use the exception the following year to sign another player. Also see question number 20 (http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#20) for more information on the availability and use of this exception.
If you look at the chart right below that it says a MLE contract can run from 1 to 5 years with max 8% raises.

Why is it that every trade scenario on RealGM has the Bobcats getting completely ripped off???
I know our FO's track record isn't good, but I actually just saw a deal that had us trading Crash, felts, ammo, may, and nazr to philly for miller, dalembert, and carney!!
I mean seriously, the guy even tried to justify the deal as a good move for the bobs!
It would be cool to get Artest in a deal though. I love his game and he would bring some pub to the queen city. The arguments between him and LB could be legendary!
