View Full Version : I am jealous

Im not going to lie, I am really jealous of the Heat. They got "forced" into taking a terrific player this draft. A 15 win season with the ham biscuit would have been worth Beasley. I watched him in SL today, granted its one game blah, blah, but he is just so dominant. On top of that, he can do everything. He outplayed Tyrus and Joahkim easily. 28 points in 23 minutes.
his combination of size (height and thickness) and athleticism allows him to beast opposition.
and on top of that, he is hillarious. an awesome personality to watch, singing at stoppages and what not. damn, imagine us with beasley at the 4. so sick. dang dang dang
I'm feeling you.
He would have been the "missing piece" for us for sure.
What sucks even more is that the Heat are only a few years removed from winning the rings and then they land the 2nd over all, a guy like the Big Easy and are looking to contend within the next few years again.
All while we watch.

If he stays healthy and they don't pull a "Kevin Durant like move from last year" with Oden winning instead I see no reason why he doesn't be rookie of the year and help take them back to the playoffs.

Give 96 out of 100 human beings between the ages of 16-40 of all shapes and sizes a jersey and shoes and they'll do the same thing. All you have to do is show up and you've already outplayed those two mouthbreathers.
I personally don't think things will work out in Miami. They'll be better than we were last season, but not by much: I foresee injuries, friction between players, and a rookie coach, and another year in the lottery for those guys.
If I'm jealous of any team, it's likely Portland, and in the east, Boston; but I'm really not: I'm content to sink with the Bobcats and hope for (but never expect) some luck while letting the other teams do what they will. Probably being an Astros and Panthers fan helps with this quasi-existential perspective :(

Nah I totally get you. Portland is the team with the possibly the brightest future and I'm Super Jealous of them but right now the Heat already have 3 superstars. They were in the cellar for basically 1 year and are in position to be a very good team again. With Wade and Beasley they could easily be contenders if the right moves are made in the next few years. All the while we don't even have one star yet after 5 years and I can't rightly say that we will definitely make the playoffs in the next few years. We could but if I had to bet money that we'd make it before the Heat, the money would never leave my hands.
Summer league means nothing, ever, PERIOD.
Let's see the guy do it in the league with real players guarding him before we start crying.

Are the Bobcat Summer games going to be on the internet lie last year?

I suppose "jealous" of Miami is appropriate if that is what "mad" is, cause I'm a little angry about it, in a basketball angry sort of way, which isn't too angry thank goodness. Yeah it isn't really fair; but I'll say this, Riley knows how to win and when he can't win, he sure knows how to lose, which is something we never figured out entirely. I hate Riley :P
Miami gets Beasley, while Bob's Cats get Augustin.
No we don't have a star like Wade or Beasley; or Marion for that matter; but Detroit didn't either when LB arrived. What Detroit had was a group of potentially solid, very skilled and athletic-in-the-right-way players that LB matured into champions. He can do that here I think with a few added pieces, but it'll take a few years at least.
...and JRich is kind of a star anyway, at least as much as Marion. JRich may be the only Bobcat whose game actually grew some last year, and that probably more to MJ's credit than anyone else.
These guys have an awful lot of training ahead of them, first off removing any garbage left from last season; like the "lob it over our out-of-position-frontcourt for a slam dunk pressure defense" we had going for a while. LB might have to unschool that one.
YAY hyphens!
As for Portland, I'm relieved to say that I'm not jealous of them at all (Boston and Miami are enough, I don't think I could handle a 3rd one). I love what they're doing and will be rooting for them next season (except when they play the Bobcats). I'd love to see them succeed.
But I'm a Kevin Pritchard homer now, it's a Jayhawk alumni thing. :) I love to see him outsmart other NBA teams. He seems able to spot skills in players and then go get them, while other teams are left to pick up his cast-offs.

Heh if you're jealous you should go over to the Chicago board on RealGM. Least we didn't take (what I consider) a very good combo guard over Beasley.
But yeah...I'd have really liked to have gotten him. It would have solved so many problems for us.

I wouldn't get too excited about one Summer League game.
Kwame Brown scored 29 points in his Summer League debut.

Biggest thing to be jealous of Miami about is Miami. It's south beach!
They are a nice group of players with a lifetime assistant as head coach. I mean it remains to be seen what they will do with that cluster of talent, they say it takes 3 stars or 2 stars and a semi-star etc and they have one and the possibility of 2 more. They have things go the way it should down there while we are the unluckiest team in the league. We got the worst possible pick we could have gotten this year, although I am coming around on DJ and AA.
Miami is what they are...3rd year from winning it all and have 2 up and comers and a semi-star...remains to be seen, but I'm not jealous.

Was that before or after Beasley put up the 28pts?

Beasly is gonna have some welcome to the NBA type moments this year but that being said he is gonna tear up the leauge and is a lock for rookie of the year. My guess he goes about 18 and 12.

i doubt 12 rebs per. thats dwight esq. though with no other big rebounders, I guess its possible. He is a beast though, and it will be interesting to see how he plays against the big boys. I still think he would have been perfect here.
