The NBA has filed for trademark rights to six nicknames for the league's new Oklahoma City franchise: Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind.
What horrible names!!

Good one, Ziggy!
I think the best one there is the Marshalls, in my opinion, but then that's the best on that's there. The only animal one is the Bison, but it doesn't end in "s" so that kind of steals the "thunder" so to speak.
Seriously, the wind though?

And to think they outright shot down my suggestion of the Oklahoma City Wet Farts

I like Barons too. Throw back to the wild wild west. Thunder isnt bad.
I think Marshalls (spelled incorrectly might i add) is just pushing the cheesiness

i was listening to espn radio late one night last week. They were acting like thunder was a done deal. Again, last week, down sports time, who knows.

Those names all seriously suck.
Bison is probably the best of them, but it sounds like an Arena Football team.
