I am worried that the Bobcats still won't make the playoffs this season. I hope Okafor has a huge season but do we really have a shooting guard? I think Felton should be the SG and Augustin should be the PG even if he's only a rookie. This article gave the Bobcats a pretty low grade. What do you think?

Wow, I won't be paying any attention to stuff from that site.
They start the article off by naming the talented players on the team, the first name was the starting shooting guard, Jason Richardson, who averaged 21.8 ppg while shooting 40.6% from 3 pt range last year....yet later in the article they say that the team doesn't have a reliable shooting guard?

If the Bobcats make the playoffs this year it will be because of coaching not changes in player personal. We have not made many player cahnges at all . And no changes to the core players.
I would give them a C for the coaching changes . Thats has been our best move of the off season. So far a D in the draft

The person that wrote the article replied to me via email saying that Richardson was a guard-forward and used mostly as a 3.
I replied back to her addressing the reasons behind him seeing time at the 3, and saying it was still a stretch to say there was no reliable 2 on the roster.

J-rich started 41 games in both roles, but played more SF only because of Crash's injury. He'll largely be the starting SG this season due to crash's presence.
To that writer, it's not like Richardson has started 438 games at SG, while only 75 at SF :)

The article completely missed the point. JRich is a natural SG and situational SF. Because we were so thin at PF last year, our rotation often worked with Crash at PF and JRich at SF.
There was also the strangeness coaching our team putting Felton at SG if I recall....again because we were so "thin" there lol.
To say that we are thin at SG because of bizarre rotations due to the lack any semblance of an experienced PF, is very, very strange logic.
Sorry to state the obvious, but the crazy stuff that gets written out there just blows my mind sometimes.
that grade seems about right to me and that article is a very fair assessment. i would not give us anything higher than a C either.

Aside from the SG comment, I pretty much agree with the article as well. Considering the true grades won't come until the season is up and running in a few months, I agree with the grade and actually think it's a fair one; in years past, I could see us getting a D-, so I think the LB respect train is already paying dividends.

She never replied.

I think a lot of that article was feeding on the Ham Biscuit era. Our new coach is not Ham Biscuit, I think we will all see a noticeable change in the entire teams play and rotations and see a much improved team this season although not many personnel changes involved except the coaching positions....

I think he has that Screaming A Smith mentality (That I sort of agree with after watching them together a full season) about how similar Rich and Crash are neither player is a legit 2 guard because of lack of handles.
