The Brett Favre era in Green Bay is now officially over. But Favre's legendary career is not.

The month-long saga has finally come to an end, with the Packers agreeing to trade their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to the New York Jets, FOXSports.com first reported Wednesday night.
The Packers and Jets both confirmed the trade later Wednesday in separate press releases.

FAVRE: THROUGH THE YEARS Photos: There will only ever be one Brett Favre. Take a stroll down memory lane and check out Favre through the years and his greatest moments. "Brett has had a long and storied career in Green Bay, and the Packers owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for everything he accomplished," the team said in the release. "It is with some sadness that we make this announcement, but also with the desire for certainty that will allow us to move the team and organization forward in the most positive way possible."

The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season.

"I am looking forward to seeing Brett Favre in a New York Jets uniform," Jets Chairman and CEO Woody Johnson said in a statement released by the team. "He represents a significant addition to this franchise, and reflects our commitment to putting the best possible product on the field."
Tampa Bay fans must be pissed Garcia is hurt now this.

No way, he gets to play a sport he loves for a living. Plus, he'll get paid a lot of money. Not $20 million, but still plenty.

Finally, the Favre saga is over. But still hes 39 though, I really don't know if the Jets could reach the playoffs.

Seriously! And then when he gets traded they say, "Finally, the saga is over. We can stop talking about it."

They still haven't stopped talking about it.

I don't think the Jets have a good offensive line do they?? If Farve is just under 40 yrs , How long you think it's going to take b4 he wish's it took that 20 million. I only liked the Packers because of Brett, I will hate to see him play for another team. This won't be like Joe Montana going to KC, Brett probably wouldn't make it through the year.

Once again..Good luck Brett
