As most would agree the Bobcats havn't done much so far in this off season . One would think with the addition of Larry Brown we would have made a lot more moves.

I agree its a grade of C so far but that could easily be a better grade if Frenchy proves to be better than everyone's thinking he will be or if we do pick up a good PF not having to trade too much away....

I give them an A- mainly because they didn't make any stupid trades. They moved quickly to secure the best coach they could get when they could have given Vincent another year. They didn't trade Wallace, Richardson, or Felton all of whom I really want to keep. We kept Oak and signed him to a long term contract without giving him the max 25% of team payroll which would have crippled our team.
Our team narrowly missed the playoffs last year and will probably get over that hump with LB, the return of May and Ammo. Even so young teams don't go from lottery to championship in one year. We added a couple of guys in the draft that could provide us with good depth at two of the hardest positons to fill for the next few years. We have a core of emerging young vetrans followed by another group of young tallent so we have put ourselves in a position to be a contender for a long time if we can turn the corner. I only give the team an A- because we havn't resigned Felton.
I could see how someone who hasn't followed basketball for a long time might think the bobs just don't have enough tallent without adding another big time star. Really though we have enough tallent we are just young. Most of our players have thier best years ahead of them and being able to play together will just make them better as a unit. If we split them up because we are impatient it will be our loss.
I have to go with a C also....I agree with the A- he gave on getting DJ in the draft but IMO we could have had a better draft. The only confusing part of the article is the lack of consistent SG....JRich is an excellant SG so I'm not sure about that comment. The writer may think JRich may play SF this year with Crash back at PF but with his injuries (and a possible 1-2 more concussions ending his career) I don't see that happening. One other comment....I'd quickly move my overall to an A if the players respond to coach Brown the way I think they will...but the key is "I think". I'm not opposed to no major deals if he (coach Brown) thinks he has the players to compete...but in my mind it is really up to these players to do the job since they have a quality coach leading the team!

I'll give them a B- so far for the off season.
They resigned Emeka which they absolutely positively HAD to do, and the drafting of "The Smurf" Dj Augustin has grown on me. If "The Eiffel Tower" amounts to something relevant this season then I'd move it up to a solid B.

Are we counting the Weaver trade in this rating?

I would say yes, that was one of the Bobcats offseason moves for good or bad.
I'd give them a B+. First and foremost they deserve a lot of credit for bringing in Larry Brown. Re-signing Emeka without giving up the house was a great, undervalued move this offseason. I really love the DJ pick and think we will have our best point guard duo in team history this season. Not trading Crash for anything less than an excellent PF has worked out so far (almost didn't though with TJ Ford). The Weaver deal doesn't really bother me much and it's way too early to talk about Ajinca. Also, I know Richardson was last season's move but his contributions to the teams improvement will be huge this year for sure.
Not getting a legit PF is the only hole I really see. If (and I know it's a big if) May stays healthy, then we might just be ok without a deal however.
All in all I think we had a solid off season and didn't make any big mistakes.

DJ was a great pick...Way better the Lopez, plus i'm bias i love point guards. Ajinca, I see the potential but as of today he's still Pepe le pew in my book. Weavers trade still bothers me, if for nothing else it's a wasted pick. Then to pick up Shannon Brown makes it even more of a wasted pick. Ryan Hollins should have never been resigned and Emeka was the best resign of the offseason.
