I've decided that everytime that I run across an article where people are seriously underestimating the Bobcats chances next season or lobbing uninformed stupidity at us that I'm just going to plop a link to it into this thread.
You feel free to do the same.
What I'd like to do is gather several of these up and then have some fun with some of these clowns once we make the playoffs this season.

12. Charlotte Bobcats
If nothing else, it will be fun to watch Larry Brown pull out what’s left of his hair trying to deal with Raymond Felton as his point guard. If the players don’t just tune out his constant complaining and backstabbing like they did in New York, Brown will most likely get Charlotte playing solid defense behind Emeka Okafor, but points may be hard to come by. I recall seeing bunches of criticism lobbed at Orlando a few years back for taking a high school kid with the top pick in the draft over the four-year college national champion Okafor, but that decision turned out to be a franchise-defining one in the wrong direction for Charlotte. Had Orlando gone for the college experience over the potential talent, Dwight Howard would be suiting up in Okafor’s place, and the Bobcats would be an up and coming club in the East. Instead, they’ll just continue to tread water in the lower third of the conference. Maybe Brown has one last magic trick in his bag (and he had better to avoid doing ever-lasting damage to his reputation after the combo of the Kincks debacle and Olympics failure) and can get the Bobcats to play over their head, but it’s more likely that 30 wins will be about as good as it gets and a new point guard will be suiting up next year, if not sooner.

How do you best make an argument lose any and all credibility? You don't know your facts. "Four year college national champion Okafor"? Sorry, numbnuts, that would be THREE years in college. Why the hell is he fluffing-up Orlando in a Bobcats preview capsule? Wow. There are so many good things about the internet, and then there's this...

From the John Hollinger chat on ESPN:
Chris (Broadview Heights, OH): Why are the Charlotte Bobcats in the league? Do they have any fans or support? Is there any way to ger rid of them?
http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif John Hollinger: Best question I've had all day. Bobcats have been seriously minor league from top to bottom since Day 1, and it's about time they started acting like a real franchise. We know there are basketball fans in Charlotte, they just need a better excuse to come to the games.

Wait'll Lebron James bolts to NY next season...within 5 years time we might just be calling Ohio's former team the Las Vegas Cavaliers.
Hollinger can just kiss my arse. At the end of the season he'll be wondering why everyone else isn't on board like he as been all along with the upstart Charlotte team.

"Start acting like a real franchise"????
What the hell does that even mean? It'd be nice if he would back up and explain this statement. Perhaps we should have stolen a team from another city. Is that what real franchises do? Perhaps we should fail to sign our own high-profile FAs, just to sign another FA and be stuck in the same boat we were before. Is that what real franchises do?

Whoa.
That's pretty outrageous.
I wonder REALLY where this disrespect is founded.
Attendance isn't THAT bad.
We haven't been in the league long enough to deserve this. There's no history for it.
Sometimes I think its simply the name (Bobcats) and its root that's just a poor poor brand (I think it is yeah, the name doesn't fit the NBA style at all; and it showed misplaced arrogance on the part of the Owner, sort of like an inappropriate joke); but to extend that to a perception that the team itself is minor league (or worse yet, managed by a bunch of baffoons) is misplaced and grossly unfair.
As a season ticket holder, the Bobcats have treated me with nothing but complete respect and courtesy. I'm proud of the team and my association with it. All this other stuff is just mean-spirited propaganda by bored sports pundits. I hope they give it a break before it takes off any further. Unlike the Mets of the '60's; this isn't cuteness. This is malicious.

and oh yeah...
Hollinger can kiss my ass too.
I think it would be very cool if we could get like 1000 replies that "Hollinger can kiss my ass" and then send that ass the link. It is time to be heard.
Simmons can kiss my ass right after Hollinger.
These guys need real jobs; like in a hurry.

Perhaps (with some sponsorship) we could help BS and Hollinger get real jobs. We could pay the both of them to kiss all of our asses. They could televise it on BET.

To Keetch, and to anyone else who is concerned. I've been wondering about our name for awhile. I know it was something that the people of Charlotte "voted on" but does anyone know if there is a substory behind it all?
Also, what were our other options as names that were beat out by the Bobcats?
And one more, how difficult would it be for us to change our name? Or is that even possible without a new franchise?

Hype is ok but it's nothing wrong with being under the radar elite teams sleep on us and end up getting beat (the Lakers and Celtics for example). The hate in the media is to be expected though until we become a consistent winning franchise or gain a high profile player that is media friendly the hate will continue just a perception we have to change this season.
As for Hollinger to hell with him he's just another Skip Bayless a journalist that just loves to hate filled controversial statements and go against the grain without backing up his statements.

"Is there any way to ger rid of them?" A question that includes a word not found in any English dictionary on the face of the earth is this tool's best question of the day? That was undoubtedly one damn esoteric chat that took place that day; a meeting of the minds if ever there was such a thing...
ESPN must ger rid of Hollinger before they sink even further into irrelevancy.

The Mass Media has always looked down on Carolina's pro sports teams. They were band wagon jumpers during the Panthers Super Bowl run, Watch when the Bobcats start whoopin some ass this year they'll be dick riding again.

Charlotte Bobcats - Not even Michael Jordan makes me remember that this team exists. That's really really sad. God does their logo suck.

Obviously the Bobcats are one of the more forgettable teams in the NBA if you're not a Bobcat fan. However, some of his picks across the various sports make me question him more than the Bobcat pick.
For example, the Redskins have one of the most faithful fans in all of sports. They haven't been that good lately, but they're hardly a franchise you forget. In fact, if you asked people over 25 who don't pay attention to football to name franchises, I have no doubt they would be one of the ones most often mentioned.
Then he mentions the Hurricanes, who won the Stanley cup a couple of years ago.
However, back to Bobcats. One thing that annoys me is when people make jokes about us being a d-league team, yet, there's always several teams worse than us. How can they say we're that bad if several teams are worse?

It's easy. Because we are an expansion team and have never accomplished anything. We have no history except a losing one. Maybe people are a little harsh but really what do you expect? Did you respect the Grizzlies at all until they got Gasol and made the playoffs? Do you respect them now? If you answer yes to that then your not the normal sports fan. We really shouldn't be so overly sensitive. If you think we deserve better then just take the hits and cherish it when we finally prove them wrong some day.
