Despite the setbacks since the Bobcats drafted him 13th overall in 2005, May has a chance to start at power forward. New coach Larry Brown said as much during summer league in Las Vegas.
May understands that's as much about the Bobcats' lack of depth at power forward as an endorsement of his value.
"The whole time during the draft I was sweating that they'd get a power forward. I've been lucky, throughout the injuries, that I still have an opportunity," he May said.

Great artical ,IF May is able to srart this year for us and Morrison can go all so .That adds ten wins to the table. The addition of L Brown adds five more . All toghter that puts us at a guess around 45 wins this year if all goes well and our first playoff seed . Glad May has been working out with the rest of the team and is down to 265 . He can play at that size though i would prefer him in the 250 range . 265 might be the least hes weighed as a Bobcat. L Brown seems to all ready be practicing , Hell the whole team might be working out all ready . Great news to hear .
All that being said i would still love a insurance policy in Landry? But you can bet the house L Brown is watching May close til season starts.
I can live with a May ,Davidson , Alexas trio . If May shows he can really go.

"I asked today, 'How am I playing?' and he said, [B]'Sean, you look great for not to have been playing for a year. ...'
"That's fine that he's saying that, but at the end of the day, I still have to go out and prove I'm worthy of those comments."
That doesn't seem like a ringing endorsement to me. I'm glad we finally have some news on this guy, and I hope he gets to the point where he's contributing on a high level. Actually, for as many chances as he's been given, he ought to go out and prove he's better than those comments would lead me to believe he is.

I thought the same thing.
It's a back handed compliement at best.

To be fair the fat guy hasn't done anything for the last 2 years...so if he can get any positive remarks from LB then that's a good thing.
IMO this article pretty much reaffirms the starting lineup:
Felts
Swish
Crash
May
Mek

That's a winning lineup I think. With DJ, Hammer, Dudley, Davidson and Mohammed behind those guys at each position we go ten deep. That leaves Hollins, AMMO and Shannon Brown for the deeper bench and Ajinca in the NBDL. This team is pretty versatile.
I doubt LB wants to rotate 10 to 12 players, but May and AMMO aren't going to come out 100% ready on Nov. 1 either, so he may need to. With their injuries they will probably need a 1/2 season to return to full speed. I'll be surprised if we see May getting more than 25 minutes per game all year.
Can AMMO earn a place in the rotation? He'll have to take minutes away from Davidson, Dudley or even Carroll to do it. It will be very cool to watch his progress.
You know at least there's no dead weight on the team this year taking minutes from better players; like McInnis, Harrington or Brezac. I'm looking forward to seeing each one of our current players on the court; and have good vibes for all of them. I've never been able to say that before!

I will be very interested to see how May comes out playing this season. Would love to be pleasantly surprised, but I dont count on it. I have more faith in Ammo coming back strong than I do in May.

Let me say I hope he does prove us wrong to the tune of 14ppg and 8rpg while playing 70 games this year. While I don't expect to have to, I will certainly be the first to eat crow if he does, and I will enjoy it.

True. I'd be the happiest guy on the block if Sean started playing the way that has been expected of him for 3 years. I, as a tarhole hater, would be so happy to see him excel in the nba (since he's a bobcat), but again as a bobcat fan that has experienced his inability to play in regular season games I have my doubts.

Sean May is the key if we'll make playoffs. Hopefully he's really OK and ready to contribute, as he said.

I agree Sean May will be a big part of this team sucess if he's healthy. He by himself fills the holes at PF so many on this site have complained about. 70 gms would be great, But i think a shakey knee might put some punk in him when it comes to pushing and banging for a rebound.

If may is Healthy we are playoff bound~
I think if anyone should worry about any player on the team it would be mek, he just hasn't shown me or anyone I know that he plays with any heart or determination! To me it is like he is just there to collect a check. If LB can light a fire under his ass then all the other pieces will fall into place.
been a lurker a long time figured I would join and throw in my 2c's finally.
