That's a descent Sim, but I just don't see Boston falling that far down and I think we will have a better record I see us 41-41 around the 6th 7th spot if we don't have any big injuries. I know that's asking a lot but we are due. If we get the 6th or 7th spot I see us winning more than 1 game in the playoffs...

I saw them in the finals and pretty much dismissed the simulation. It's fun to talk about and speculate, but I don't really see it working out that way.
The Heat with 55 wins?
Not a hope in hell.
With a starting five of:
C-Beasley
PF-Haslem
F/SF-Marion
SG-Wade
PG-Livingston
*almost everyone an all-star caliber at every position.
And their bench is not that bad either with J.Magloire, Blount, jones, Qiunn, cook, diawara, wright and banks.. they have a real solid line-up, and with wade going like he did in the olympics, they are easily the team to beat in the east especially with boston loosing the element of surprise and hyped they had last season..

I have to agree with Slam on this one.
D-Wade is all universe, theres no doubt about that but Marion never seemed to fit in with the rest of the team, Beasley is real nice... but he is a rookie, and Livingston wasn't exactly dominating before his knee exploded.
I'll give them 44 wins if Wade stays healthy all season

Still stand by what I said earlier the Eastern conference this year will be a lot like the West was last year. I believe a lot of the playoff seeds wont be determined until the final week of the season honestly don't know who the favorites are between Boston, Cavs, Det, Heat or Orlando. Than you have the sleepers like Philly, Cats, Wizards, Pacers, Raptors, and the Hawks.

A lot of people are suggesting that Beasley will be a SF rather than a PF but you have him listed at C?
Flash is an out and out stud, Matrix is a role player and the rest are bums - with a new, green head coach.
They'll be LUCKY to get to 40 wins.

At 6'10 235lbs he's going to a be a PF. i meant haslem and him will share the frontcourt alternating positions between offensive and defensive ends depending who their playing against.
Udonis Haslem is a bum?? He was a regular double double guy for them last season and the most reliable one, if that's so what do you call okafor?

Haslem was an undrafted FA signing who has NEVER averaged 10 boards a game in a season in his NBA life and last year he only had 16 games of 10 boards or more. He has also never averaged more than half a block a game in a season in his NBA life.
Did you REALLY just compare Udonis Haslem to Emeka Okafor?
And since when was Beasley 6'10"????

We're talking about a 1.8 pt difference in ppg and 1.7 reb/per difference between the two. And Haslem shoots it much better at the line and a much better passer not to mention he has championship experience. You make it sound like you're comparing MJ and Mciinis:)

Wil i have to agree with Slam . Its no comparing the two players . It's not even close. Though i think the Heat will be much better than most think in the east. But no where near a number one seed in the east. They will be lucky to smell the playoffs .

And here is his ACTUAL height as per the pre-draft camp, not some bogus measurement the Heat want people to think is true:
http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draft-measurements/?page=&year=2008&sort2=DESC&draft=15&pos=4&sort=
And I am shocked that someone is honeslty trying to put forward a case that Haslem is as good or better than Emeka Okafor.
Awesome.

I think you should have read the fine prints under the fig. table you just cited which states, "Measurements prior to 2000 are based on newspaper articles rather than official league documents. While the measurements reported in such articles are reported to be officially from the predraft camp, we are taking those writers at their word and can not completely verify that information." - I don't think there's much credibility in that as compare to measurements coming officially from the league in the official website at nba.com.
I'm just stating a FACT that okafor and haslem had closely similar numbers last season.
While I really like Haslem, I really don't think he is really close to being as good as Okafor. Obviously Emeka is a couple of points and rebounds better but his defensive presence in what clearly seperates the two for me.
Wade is so good. He actually looked the best to me of all the guys on the olympic team. Even with that being said though, Miami will be more like the 7-10 seed than the 1 seed.

Are you serious?
Read what you quoted again.
Measurements prior to 2000 are based on newspaper articles rather than official league documents
What year are the measurements Beasley's were taken in? I'll give you a clue:
It's after 2000 and before 2009.
I'll make it easier for you:
It's after 2007 and before 2009.
What that means is that they were taken AFTER 2000, making them offical league documents and NOT based on newspaper aricles.
And just to put your mind at rest:
InsideHoops.com exclusive: Michael Beasley, expected to be the first or second pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, told InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner Friday afternoon that his official height measurement, taken by the NBA that day, was 6′8″ 1/2.
He was hoping to come out 6′9″ or even 6′10″, as some media outlets had listed him.
http://www.insidehoops.com/blog/?p=1236
The official draft-camp measurements have yet to be released as of this posting. But one report lists supposed 6-foot-10 Kansas State power forward Michael Beasley at 6-8 1/2.
At least that's the word from an interview conducted with Beasley by InsideHoops.com.
According to a posting on the site, the conversation went thusly:
Q. "What did you measure at?"
A. "6-8."
Q. "Ah, 6-8, right on the nose?"
A. "6-8 and a half."
The initial reaction would be: Hmm, a 6-8 1/2 power forward? In the same conference with Kevin Garnett?

When the official measurements for the 2008 NBA draft (http://www.hoopsfantasy.com/updated-nba-mock-draft-2008/) were released, the first numbers that most scouts looked for were those of Michael Beasley. Beasley, who is regarded as arguably the most talented player in the entire draft, was rumored to be anywhere from 6-foot-6 to 6-foot-10.
When the results were released, Beasley’s official height was basically in the middle of those two numbers. He measured 6-foot-7 without shoes and 6-foot-8 1/4 with shoes on.
http://www.hoopsfantasy.com/michael-beasley-official-measurements-2008-nba-draft/
(sits back and waits for you to post: Yeah, well, Barkley and Ben Wallace were undersized too).
And for the third time, League OFFICIAL documents has him OFFICIALLY listed at 6'10 PF. Until proven otherwise and corrected, it stands as the OFFICIAL measurement of the player. Now, if you have any sources that mj played for boston and bird for the bulls or whether rodman averaged 30pts ppg, it will still be up to the league to OFFICIALLY accept STATISTICAL FACTS and the verasity of your claim.
*If you're so sure, you can always correct the league to prove your point:)
And just to further expand your vocabulary:
Meaning of: Official
Function: adjective
Date: circa 1585
1: of or relating to an office, position, or trust <official duties>
2: holding an office
3 a: authoritative , authorized <official statement> b: prescribed or recognized as authorized <an official language> c: described by the United States Pharmacopeia or the National Formulary
4: befitting or characteristic of a person in office <extended an official greeting>
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/official[2]
*Hope you somewhat understand the meaning of the word (OFFICIAL). So when i say Michael Beasley's OFFICIAL measurement is 6'10 235 lbs you would understand what it means..:)
Fair enough. It's not like Michael Beasley would know what his own height is now, would he?
Wonder if the league "officially" tells him when to wipe his bum too?
Should ask Tim Duncan how much he liked being "offically" listed at 7 foot for most of his career until they finally changed it a few years back too.
The NBA combine is the source I trust the most for such things. According to the "official" measurements at the NBA pre draft combine...
Michael Beasley Without shoes 6' 7"
With Shoes 6' 8.25"
Weight 239
Wingspan 7' 0.25"
Standing Reach 8' 11"
Body Fat 7.7%
I don't know how much more "official" you want than that.
The NBA does list guys heights "in shoes" but even with that being said, I don't think Beasley grew 2-3 inches since the combine.

The combine results are the correct ones. Not the gibberish put out by the Miami Heat for the league. I saw for myself on NBATV that Beasley was barely over 6'8" with shoes when being measured at the combine and he was not very happy about the results.
