Thought this was good news for those other articles which seemed to cast doubt on where Crash stands with Coach Brown. It's a good read.

What the observer had to say

Thanks for the posts guys.

As I read the observer article especially, I can't help but think about what kind of defensive, lock down player that Wallace could be. I say could because I agree with the articles that Wallace plays basically a 1-man defensive style with lots of gambling that sometimes exposes his teammates. Just think, what if you took that freakish athletic ability that Wallace has and actually teach him how to play defense. I'm not sure about his 1 year at Alabama, but it's been at least that long since this guy has been truly coached. I mean the intricisies of the game. I am very excited about the possibilities.

This same thing goes for a lot of our guys. We have really good athletes at almost every starting position (at least Okafor, Wallace, Richardson and Felton). What if they actually buy into Coach Brown's system and he is able to move them around to carry out his plans like chess pieces? I bet it's going to be a good result and again, very excited about what just might happen.

First, I wasn't one of the people that read Brown's previous comments about SFs as a questioning of Wallace's ability. I just assumed he was talking about he other SFs. However, I'm very curious if this article came out as a quick bandage to the ambiguity of the previous article. Wallace already took a beating this summer. I'm just wondering if someone in Bobcats' management made a call to make it clear that Brown is behind Wallace.

I'm just wondering if someone in Bobcats' management made a call to make it clear that Brown is behind Wallace. Same here. I wrote as much in the "Brown's comments about Gerald" thread. People will believe what they want to believe: if people at BCP or at USA Today or anywhere in the cosmos want to believe that coach doesn't like Gerald, that's fine; opinions are opinions, and more often than not I go against the popular opinions and am wrong. Still, to use coach's quote about forwards and their defense, and the presumptuous and unprofessional editorializing of the hack columnist of USA Today as evidence to support claims that Gerald is in some sort of dog house with coach before the first day of training camp is delusional.

I've got enough of the feisty, stubborn southerner in me that I feel satisfaction with coah's comments about Gerald both on bobcats.com and the linked articles above, as they validate my argument.

And like, dnb, of course the comment was used as motivation but what makes anyone assume Gerald is the only one he is speaking about; the plural was used, not the singular. There's a hackneyed phrase that's taken somewhat out of context in this case, but "sometimes a cigar is a just a cigar."

You watch that interview with Larry Brown and Wallace at NBA.com now.

I love everything I'm hearing so far but I swear if Coach Brown can help Wallace still be a stud without playing so reckless he'll improve the most out of anyone on the team.

Seriously, tonight was a majestic game from Gerald, and what's cool is if you watch the postgame comments from Gerald and Coach, the amount of respect they have for each other is just fabulous! It's official, any talk of trading Gerald is :rip:

On the post-game radio show after the Heat game; Wallace said he had a talk with LB before the game and told him he just had to play his way and that he was going to do what he had to do and that he'd see Coach afterwards and apologize for all of his mistakes.

Apparantly; Larry Brown just smiled and said "Go for it!"
