The Knicks just announced they will not extend David Lee or Nate Robertson by the 10/31 deadline, so they b/c FA nexy yr. Lee is a PF avg approx 11 pt 9 reb. Nate is a PG but really more Combo avg 13 pts 3 asst. This would give NY an adequate starting PG in Ray should they keep him and extend him (Duhan is not much to rely on) and a young PF to grow or have as an expiring Contract. We get our starting PF in Lee and a decent experienced backup PG to help DJ and who can also play SG should J-Rich go down with injury or Carroll.

This is not a major overhaul, but it could go a long way in helping us. Would you do it? Would NY want it? Comments?

i like it but i don't think there is anyway in hell the knicks would do it. the only way they can justify trading the most popular player on the team, is if they dump one of their awful contracts in the deal. i think it will take at least curry, randolf or marbury to move lee.

I might do it but would prefer to keep Felton. I would rather take Currys contract.
And i think this could be done .
Morrison , May , Nazz
Curry and Lee,
Curry plays back up Center just like Nazz , and we get a decent p/f

I like this one. If you don't want to deal with Marbury, then cut him. The thing Marbury possesses of great value is his 20 million dollars coming off the books after this season.

I know it's the preseason, but damn they're really bad so far. Might be time to start over and this deal would help the team get under cap while getting rid of a couple of similar skilled players and we'd get an asset in David Lee.

Lineup after this trade.

C- Okafor/Ajinca/Hollins
PF- Lee/May/Davidson
SF- Wallace/Dudley
SG- Richardson/Brown
PG- Augustin/Marbury

Fillers complete the roster.

I think I would do it depending on DJ. If he is ready to be starter, then I say go for it b/c we need frontcourt help in the worst way. The only worry I would have (other than Nate Robinson's napoleon complex) is that we would only be renting Lee for a season, where Ray has publicly stated that he wants to stay in Charlotte. If we could sign Lee long term and DJ was ready then I would agree to the trade.
