Firstly guys - appologies in advance. I don't follow the NFL, but I know that a lot of you do, so I thought I would at least try to share!!

Went out for some sushi at lunch and heard in the car Steve Smith on Rome's radio program.

He said he pulled Jake (your QB?) aside two weeks ago and asked him to make sure Smith was doing the little things. He said that he had lost concentration of late (something about a dropped TD pass - against Atlanta maybe?) because he wasn't doing the "little things". He said to Jake that if he sees him slacking off, to get on him.

Said that he had been in the game for 8 years and was one of the best and got to be one of the best by diong the "little things" but over the last few weeks had been taking things for granted. Said that is giong to stop now and he is going to switch back on.

They spoke about some guy named Kent or Curt? and a fued they had been having. Smith said he was in the wrong but he didn't want o fix it through the media. Said he wanted to keep it private and on a personal level - which is what he did. All has been worked out now.

They talked some more, but I had to get back to work so not sure what was said. That Steve Smith guy seems like a pretty cool guy though.

Don't know if you all already knew this and sorry if I screwed any names and stuff up - just trying to help!!

Nice post Slam. Steve Smith is awesome. He has a temper problem (He punched teammate Ken Lucas in the face during practice this preseason - that's the feud he was refering to), but they supposedly have a decent or at least a working relationship now.

As far as doing "the little things"... I feel that Eaton needs to gratuitously post in this thread just so that sweet sig gets posted in here.

Besides being one of the top 5 current offensive players that scare opposing teams on Sundays IMO what makes him great is his toughness. I swear looking at my gif and the way he plays you wouldn't think he was 5"9 185lbs so much damn heart.

Only "feuds" I can remember involving him was him telling Dwayne Jarrett to spend more time watching game film instead of complaining to the media in interviews of about lack of playing time, Ken Lucas recent fight, punching Anthony Bright and his jawing with his off the field friend DeAngelo Hall last year.

During the game against the Saints they showed him and Jake talking on the sidelines Smitty has dropped a few passes this year that in the past would have been catches.I just think they need to get there timing back on point look for him to have a field day this weekend he always does against Arizona.

Smith is "the little things," because it's "the little things" that make big plays (and he's 5'9", which is small for a receiver).

Allen Iverson of the NFL.
