I was thinking back about some of the bad stuff we've done/talked about doing, and behind drafting May...I think the biggest mistake was Not trading him when we had the chance...

Before the 2007 draft the rumor was the Nets were offering the 17th pick of the 2007 NBA draft for Sean May...why we didn't take it I don't know...May later got injuried and was out for the season...

If we would have taken the deal NJ would be dealing with May, and if we would have gotten NJ's pick our starting line-up could look a little different...Maybe like this...

Felton
JRich
Crash
SEAN WILLIAMS
Okafor

Could you imagine that? It be so much better off, offensively and defensively....so looking back had to regret the choice not to pull that trigger...

thoughts?

I thought it was foolish at the time to not make the trade with NJ .....

A: He wouldn't have passed the physical

B: How would Sean Williams make us better offensively?

No way he could have passed it. Same as when the Charlie v for May trade came up he couldn't walk then.
Im a Tar Heal but May has been useless from day one .
If he could give us 12 good mins a game this year like Brown wants i would be happy as hell.

Big Slam is right... not trading for Sean Williams is hardly a major event.

it would be nice to have a big body that could get on the court... but i don't see how a smaller Okafor makes us better all around.

There was also a trade going around that we would trade our 5th,13th pick to move up so we could get Chris Paul but obviously the trigger wasn't pulled on that one.I don't think not trading May for Williams was a mistake at all Sean W. is more athletic and quicker than Okafor but he's just as limited offensively which wouldn't help matters.Still if you're talking about health and fitness than yeah Williams would have been the better pick, looking at it now.

That non-trade is no worse than the trade of a future first for Big Frenchy in my opinion...
