Here is my thing, we need a pf and some want to bash this man. Al Harrington would fit perfect into this system. Rasheed did the same thing with 3's when he was under LB in Det. Mek has limited scoring ability downlow and this would open up the opportunity for Crash to play a slasher and scorer and be a monster on the boards. Okafor must become a beast on the boards. Al can go down low also with the right matchups. So I go with a trade off

Charlotte out Ammo and Nazr

Memphis out Crittenton

Golden State out Harrington, Bellini, and Wright

Charlotte in Harrington and Wright then cutting Hollins and Brown for Strawberry and a big center to back up Okafor

Memphis in Bellini and Nazr who would backup there starters and Nazr takes the younger Gasol under his wings

Golden State gets Ammo and Crittenton, the pg they want and Ammo a contract they can let go in a year or two to sign their young talent.

I think this works for all parties. We then have an abundance of players at the 4, still have wings and pg depth but alittle shakey at the 5 unless we could score an old vet backup on the cheap.
This deal could be done now and we have time for our players to work together. Harrington won't be in GS for long now that Nellie has an extention. They have sad to want to trade him East and are exploring for Eddie Curry. J Rich would welcome an old buddy or two and get us on the track to success. He might not be the answer to all of our problems but it would create a buzz in the organization and excitement in the air. This could be the chance and none of our core would have to leave us.

1) Warriors are robbed by Grizzlies.
2) You should be clear which of our 4 Browns you are talking about (I know you mean Shannon not Andre, Larry or Herb).
3)I wonder who the mysterious center to back up Okafor is. I bet we would already sign him if there is any.
4)I consider the of S.Brown and Strawberry as something not influencing the trade so it is basically:
Nazr + Adam for
Al + Brandan + hole at back up center (resulting in even thinner frontcourt) solving by cutting Hollins

resulting in
Felton - Augustin, Brown/Strawberry
Richardson - Carroll
Wallace - Dudley, Johnson
Harrington - Ajinça, Wright, A. Brown, May
Okafor - someone instead of Hollins (i.e. scrub like Justin Williams at best)

I'm not really sold on Al Harrington but that's more because of my lack of knowledge of his game (not numbers). I should check the salaries but I would prefer trade not involving Nazr and Ammo (Carroll looks like less suited for Larry's offense and we need someone expirienced like Nazr to step up when needed). I'm not high on Brandan Wright, I'm afraid he would went in JerMareo footsteps. After all I don't think there is any possibility Warriors would do that trade so I won't bother too much to consider it.

I like your points, doc, but especially this one:

It would be hilarious if we traded Herb Brown (though, probably not to him).
Maybe we could trade Herb to Chicago for Bernie. That might up the motivation on this team even more.

okay he has improved our defense but jusging by the score......we lost by less last year.

Okafor looks WORSE
Wallace's defense seems limited
Richardson is not the same

- 1 game in and the entire team is learning a new system
- everywhere brown has gone, his teams have had a serious learning curve before showing improvement.
- we overcame a 17 point deficit and cut it to 5.
- we have no low post presence.

yeah, brown needs to go.

on a sidenote, stephon marbury is on the outs in ny and is inactive tonight. david lee would be a welcomed presence as a true 4 and maybe the price tag would be lower if we took stef off their hands. marbury is a headcase, but if he would be ok coming off the bench, it would soften the potential loss of felton if we deal him. sucks to take on starbury, but it might be worth the pain to get david lee.

We have absolutely no cap space to take Starbury...

Starbury? You guys do remember the soap opera that happened in NY a couple of seasons back right?

I doubt anyone in the league wants him at this point...I' not interested in him...not for any PF the Knicks have on their roster would I take Starbury with them...and we also have no cap without trading half the team...think I'd pass on Starbury...

This like choosin between keeping hands in a flame burning or chopping own head off by an axe. Luckily we have no free hands (cap space) to decapitate us.

It is probably not that bad but I can't imagine it. I would even say Sam Vincent could be better coach for Marbury.

I don't know how anybody would feel about a trade within the division, but Miami seems to have a surplus at PF with Beasley, Haslem, and Marion (more of a SF). I think that Haslem would be on the outside looking in, and I think that he could help the team. On the trade checker, I put up Carroll and Felton for Haslem and Cook and it worked. I know that the Heat probably won't trade cook, but for a decent PG who knows. What does everybody think about this trade?

While I personally like Haslem and acquiring him has been discussed here before, I'm not sure that Miami would trade him. I think they've been playing Haslem at C, Beasley at PF and Marion at SF, so they probably want to keep all of those guys.

I think the Heat game showed how the team can play when thet actually played LBs system...and I admire the fact he has called McMay out...this guy has to get in shape or he is gonna end up in Europe (if he is lucky)...

We need help. A shake up of some sorts. Look, Detroit wins Championships and always contends, but they will shake up things. Cannot be afraid to do something, as long as it is SOMEHOW able to help this team. Standing pat, this is a pretty bad team; nowhere near playoff caliber.

I agree....something needs to be done. In LB's post game conference tonight he seems very frustrated and kept repeating about how they are undersized. He said that we need to do something to correct these problems. We will not make it for the long haul this season with Crash or Duds at PF.

Yea his postgame comments translated into reality were "Bob, stop being so cheap, open your wallet and get me some size"
