View Full Version : So let me get this straight...
I apologize for the rant, but it has been building up. So, going into this pre season I had some good feelings about the core of our team. Now, Sean May is out of shape and we need to trade ANOTHER player to compensate for his physical conditioning? We are going to trade our guy who brings it every night and jump starts this team with his energy? Man, this makes me really angry at May. I hope that if (when) he starts playing well, we trade him immediatly when he gets some trade value. This is ridiculous. I enjoy watching GW on the court and dont want to lose him. I say we trade Felton since he has trade value. I dont want to lose either, but would rather trade Felton over GW. After we got crushed inside by Toronto, i wouldnt be surprised if a trade goes down ASAP.
Funny how May's laziness affects another persons trade.

I'm not as much upset at May (though it is frustrating) as I am amazed at the allegations that we would trade Crash or Felton for such mediocre and/or negative talent such as Harrington or Curry. We must trade only from strength or not trade at all. That means adding real forward-thinking skill, size and/or talent towards becoming a high-contending team, not this stop gap stuff to get by for now.
I'm still holding out hope that May will be productive, even if its only to trade him. But its hope only. I stopped having expectations long before the Bobcats did; like most of us. If he makes it cool, we need him or somebody else will. If not; his trade value is negligible then and well I believe his contract expires soon?
Since I haven't had any expectations for so long; I've had no reason to be upset.

The Bobcats simply have to draft better. That's how you build a team. If you try and build your team through trading, you're gonna give up as much as you're gonna get or more. FA requires alot of free money and guys willing to come.
The Bobcats will continue to have just enough talent to not be the worst, but not anywhere close to challenge. The components you build a team with are shaky at best:
1) PG. Who is it? Is it Felton? If it is, then he NEVER needs to play another position. If it's DJ, you can probably get some value for Felton, and get by with another type backup PG. This question has gone too long without being answered. You won't see the Bulls moving Rose back and forth between the 1 and 2, even with his size. Make a decision.
2) Low-post scorer. This is a mockery of an NBA team we've gone this long with no guy who can consistently score down low. The point of the game is to score at a high percentage, which we continue not to do. The Bobcats should invest their entire draft into lowpost scorers. Only then can you even begin to evaluate your team's ability to execute. Okafor is not the answer.
You have to draft better.

Seriously...I agree with everything on this board. I know it's fun to talk trade, it's fun and easy to say we should have picked so and so. There is nothing out there that we can easily get without giving up more than i feel good about giving up. Ray, yeah he's tradeable but are you ready to turn over the keys to DJ and basically no one else at PG? Who goes in if we trade Ray and DJ gets hurt? Are we going to get a solid PG and a solid low post scorer back in a trade that our main piece would be Ray? Same thing for GW? Gerald has such a good contract for what he brings. Sure he had a bad day yesterday but those are few and far between. Get serious about these trade ideas you're clogging up my "new posts" Lets talk some ball.
It is obvious from Jordans interview that he is ready to trade to make us actually have a low post scorer, just not sure why GW is the choice to trade right now. I am also tired of these no name guys coming in to fill our void. Lets get someone decent. Whatever happened to Charlie V being on the trading block? None of this crap about Curry, give me a break.

Wallace is the one to be traded because Morrison and Dudley are playing so well and LB thinks we have too many of the same position players.

LB thinks we have too many link styled players. Too many jump shooters. Of the guys you mention Ammo is the odd man out.
Crash is more of a one off on our team. More the true slasher than jump shooter.
GW has different skills than the others. He is instant energy for us and does a lot of intagibles. The guys blocks, steal, rebounds and can finish. He is too distracted right now with all the trade chatter. I would rather get rid of Felton, JD or Carroll.
What comes down to the purpose of this thread is-If May wasnt so lazy, we would not even be shopping GW. GW or Felton is going to be traded directly because of May's inability to make millions of dollars and stay in shape. F'in ridiculous.

I still can't believe that last year May waited and decided on the first day of training camp to decide to get his knee checked-out. We all knew it was hindering his ability to play in the 2006-2007 season, and that he might need surgery and get it checked out. He doesn't. He waits all damn summer long and then goes to a doctor in October the day that training camp starts! Then, his inability to keep a stable weight over the entirety or last season and this summer (yes, I realize that he couldn't run... THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO HAVE A NEGATIVE CALORIE BALANCE!). He comes into camp still chubby, and in poor shape. He's probably been drinking every night too.
And because of this, because of HIS inability to do his job, we are now discussing a trade of an actually hard-working player on this Bobcats team???? I don't understand it.
He's the only guy on this team without any heart.

Thank you. I couldn't have said it better myself. The only excellence Sean May has ever pissed was his ability to perform at the NBA level. I hate how we have to get rid of one of our hardest working players just to cover his fat ass.>:(

just to add a little fuel to this fire.
thanks to may and his late knee problems last year, vincent convinced the FO to trade herrmann and a lot of cap space for nazr, cause we needed a big man.
just another shit brick to pile on the shoulders of may and his inability to get on the floor and stay there.
when its all said and done may could cost us two seasons, wallace, herrmann and cap space.
again, our issues come back to May. he was embarrasaing last night. he didnt even care he was on the court. he acted like he didnt give a crap instead of busting his ass to earn the spot.
the crazy part about this-he can start as soon as he gets in shape. LB is just waiting for him to be able to run up and down and then the starting spot is his.
man i wish we did the trade with NJ. forget Sean May.

Look on the bright side, now we'll sign two more useless fodder players to rot on the bench! Huzzah!
