View Full Version : Utah Polygamists at Charlotte Bobcats 11/14

Friday night, the Utah Polygamists come to the Cable Box. The last time we played them, Deron Williams hurt us with 14 points, 15 assists and Carlos Boozer dominated the paint with 28 points and 13 boards. Lets hope that neither one of them runs wild on us this time around.

J-Rich is out for a week following getting his knee scoped, theres no word on who is going to get the bulk of his minutes between Morrison and Carroll. My money is on Ammo.

I don't want to drop to 2-6, so we need this win. Is it going to happen?

No chance in hell!

Considering we're already 2-5;)

Utah has a team name that by rights should be in New Orleans. New Orleans has a team name that by rights should belong in Charlotte. Therefore, by the Transitive Property of Team Names, we should beat the ever-loving crap outta Utah.

If only it were that easy, but who knows? We did beat the Hornets. This tells me that we have the ability to beat any team in the league on any given night. I think that Friday is Utah's night to get beat.

Utah Jazz guard Deron Williams (left ankle inversion sprain) and forward Andrei Kirilenko (sprained right index finger) are doubtful for tonight’s game at Charlotte. In addition, center Mehmet Okur is not with the team and will miss his third straight game after returning to Turkey to deal with a family illness. Center Kyrylo Fesenko has rejoined the team and is expected to play tonight after missing the last two games due to personal reasons. We might actually stand a chance!

So did I, but it's been on. I called DISH today just in case they'd worked a deal and was going to bill me for it...lady said they still haven't cut one with the NBA and the free preview was still on.

All I know is my guide doesn't show the game on either FSN South or SportsSouth (CLT TWC 40 and 60 respectively). So much for the 30 min pre-game show, doubtful I can see the game on tv. I'm headed to the game now, better late than never.

I love winning!!!

Our bench played very well tonight, esp. Ammo. You could tell LB's gameplan in the 4th was getting him shots and for the most part it paid off. Felton/Crash both had great games...20 of 24 FTs between them.

Mek seemed very "off". A lot IMO is just the fact that he needs some damn help in the paint, and I did think a foul or two was due to the PGs not letting him get set for the screen.

Except for Felton and Crash no other player broke 25 minutes.

I am proud of Adam's comeback. He is definitely improved from his Rookie disaster. Ray and Crash and he all stepped up big tonight.

Will any of the Okafor fans on the board possibly explain to me how the **** he got outplayed by Koufos? Does the man have no dignity or heart? This is a Rookie, Koufos, and he had much better stats than Okafor. How? He should give back 1/2 his salary as that is about what he's worth right now. Just embarrassing.

I did think he played pretty bad, but as I said in my other post he really didn't have a lot of help. Boozer got into the paint a lot and no one else could really do much.

Tam...hell I'm taking this win and running. Remember the 2nd season when we didn't have Mek for most of the season and Crash had to play C? We're due for some games where we have the advantage my friend.

No worries. I was out and about anyway, keeping up to date with the score on my phone. Great to see the win. Seems like Sean played okay. I'd even love to see that happen every other night. Ammo sure kicked it up a notch when he had to, too.

We should totally trade Raymond Felton... NOT! Surely, one game does not make the man, but he's been playing alright lately (great tonight) and that's just so necessary to this team.

Take a win wherever you can get it! Go Cats!

Ugh!! Worst weather ever! Oh, yeah, though, another Friday night win!!! Lots of fun to see a coach utilize his bench to the max....never seen that from a Charlotte Bobcats coach before, and wouldn't you know....a win!

Arrived late due to traffic, so I missed the first 8 minutes of 1st qtr, and they were down by like 11 or so, and then it suddenly got better from then on! Seeing Sean May fight for an offensive rebound and an easy putback was (I kid you not) surreal...I couldn't believe I was watching it..didn't know the kid still had it in him! Also fun to see Lexy get a block!

Special kudos to Hollins!! Dude's been collecting dust on the bench, and comes out like a houseonfire. I love that Coach has put he and Lexy above Nazr on the depth chart; like was illustrated in the Denver game, when Nazr's out there, things just don't flow for us on either end....I hate to say it, cause I like the guy, but he's the new Othella....a salary albatross:(

Still, a beautiful win....a beautiful TEAM win without the "go to" guy. It's not something that needs to be a regular occurence, but it does a fan good (and a team good as well) to see the fellas pull together and get a win without a key cog of the machine. Kudos to the fans that came out in the dreadful weather....a lot more folks than I thought...actual attendance much like the Hornets game...around 12.5K...and a few hundred of those CP acolytes, so I thought the attendance was a pleasant surprise.

Also, seeing BK foul out and pout on the bench was pretty damn priceless!

wow. adam doesnt win rookie of the year or an NBA championship with Bernie freaking Bickerstaff as head coach... and its a "rookie disaster". He may not have played up to number 3 billing but it was hardly a disaster.

and you obviously didnt see the game because Okafor wasn't outplayed but Goufos. Okafor played well tonight i think. He didn't rip the rim off and run around the court with it above his head or put on a cape and dunk from the free throw line... but he did what he does. Goufos was active all around, got a nice alley oop and made some buckets... but he was hardly ever a force to contend with. The numbers might not show up... but Okafor got weird playing time and when he was in.. he held Boozer in check (minus one rim rattling dunk Booz threw down).

I am so sick and tired of saying this but here it goes one more time.... IF SEAN MAY WAS HEALTHY... he is an asset to the team. thats a giant IF.

Shannon Brown should be playing over the NBDL All-Star Matt Carroll. Shannon had several nice plays tonight but just couldnt seem to finish or just get somethings to fall. Overall though hes a better defender, more active, more athletic guard than MC. Matt is a 3 point shooter and thats it.

Ryan Hollins reaffirmed my unjustified love tonight. If you don't love watching him on the court you may not have a pulse. Kid tries to do everything like its a video game. He isn't great and won't ever be... but i think its worth a lifetime contract just for 8-10 highlight dunk and blocks he gives. I love that kid.... nobody but crash plays harder.

I love that Larry had this lineup in the 2nd quarter.
DJ, Shannon, Adam, Sean May and Ajinca. Not a full year of NBA experience between them... and they actually didn't play terrible. It just feels so good to have a good coach i cant even express it. I can sit in the stands and not worry about that aspect. its awesome.

Driving home was tough. Great game and a nice croud considering weather. Im starting to feel the fans geting more involved . This is the 2nd game my wife and i went crazy at this year . About as good as the Hornet win. Mike ,our ticket rep took us to some court side seats at the end of the first . Not to far away from Pepers and T Davis loved it . Hollins played with energy , he looked better than Mek as active as he was.
Wallace looked like he got body slamed slamed on a fast break . It had to be a flargent foul . But the refs craped us on that call , We must of had ten bad calls last night .Slown would say somthing to the number 11 ref and damn if it wasn't a call with in 15 seconds.
Boozer , is a beast . He makes Mek look like a boy.
We had great team play out of Felton , Morrison , and Wallace . Felton is really starting to take charge on the floor . He jumped on Morrison and Hollins more than once telling them where to be .
Morrison and Harpring match up was great . Harpring tryed pushing Morrison around but Morrison pushed back and had a hell of a 4th. I think Morrison is begining to know his role and hes looking good doing it. I never thought the kid could come back this far after ACL, But he inproves ever game.
May played and showed more toughness than hes showed all year . He really did look ok guarding Boozer in the first half. If we can just get him to contribute like he did last night ever game. This is a play off team. Things are starting to fall into place in Browns system.
