Tonight Superman comes to town... Anybody have some spare Kryptonite?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO3c8EaxsxQ
Howard at this point in his career is simply unstoppable... Period. Theres really nothing that Emeka or anyone else in the NBA can do to stop him. Maybe we can put Ryan Hollins on him... Eh, not so much.
So what do you think guys, can we put together a solid game, get a win and creep one game closer to .500?

Maybe we can pray for an early foul trouble of Howard. Only under these circumstances we can win without J-Rich or with a not fully healthy J-Rich.
And I'm really annoyed at people who always compare Howard and Okafor, and eventually sh.t at Okafor for not being as great as Howard. This is ridiculous. When they were drafted anyone knew that Howard was pure potential, Okafor was more NBA-ready but Howard had a much higher ceiling. And nothing unexpected happened. Okafor won ROY as expected, Howard became a beast as expected. I'm not saying that I'm satisfied with Okafor's progress, he should have been at least consistent on offensive end by now, but don't forget that he's one of 4 players who averaged for the past 4 seasons (the others are Duncan, Nash and Howard).
Well, honestly I expect a 3-6 record after the game, but who knows? Morrison could explode for 30 points, we may win. Go Bobcats.
also remember that oak was picked #2 behind howard. how is that his or the cats fault? oak is solid , nothing more, howard is spectacular. howard has at least 20/17/5b, magic win by 15. game is not that close. we do not match up at all with this team, never have. but, i hope i am wrong, except howard, i need a big fantasy line from him.

The Pistons are the only team that give Howard trouble, other than that it should be a blowout and Howard should be on the NBA.com highlights at least twice just hope it's not on Wallace, poor Okafor he must be preparing himself for the humiliation tonight.:D

Man BULLSHIT call on the Brown dunk attempt (should have been a foul) and BULLSHIT call on Oak at the other end (should have been a charge) man the refs in the NBA piss me off sometimes, that game against the Nuggets I felt like we were getting gipped. That's 2 fouls just blatantly given to Howard.... yargh. Glad Ammo's looking good again though.

The run in last 2 minutes was nice. We're doing well in containing Howard. When he's certain to score, we foul him and send to line. This is a good strategy, maybe the best we can do now. It's not good to see Okafor has 2 fouls, Mohammed has 3 but Hollins is playing decent again.

With all the nay sayers about AmMo all I can say is where would the Bobcats be without AmMo this season? I mean I know the Bobcats are only 3 and 5 but without AmMo would we have those 3. His improvement defensively has been the biggest surprise in my opinion.
As far as the Bobcats making a trade for a 4, I think they should but not til they get some of their players value up. As of now it is early in the season and getting top value should be the concern of the Bobcats front office rather than making rash trades.

We've missed such a huge chance. But this season will be all about these losses. We lost to Toronto in same way. We have no go-to-guy. None of the players in the roster has the potential to be.
This team can get out of this mediocrity hole only if we win 1st pick in the lottery with 3% chance just like Chicago did. Otherwise, we have nowhere to move, really.

Just got back to Raleigh after being 4th ROW at the game tonight.
Some notes:
ALERT TO MEK: One Hour till your beat down...............
Your prediction was slightly off, AF, but nobody's perfect. Mek played Howard well tonight. I cannot complain about Emeka's play.
I can complain about Hedo's play. I hate that guy. Of course, if he were on the Bobcats, I'd be a huge fan.
We obviously put a lot of effort towards stopping Dwight, which allowed Hedo, Lewis and Peitrus to score. Between Turkoglu and Lewis, Crash could only guard one. We needed someone to guard the other guy.
However, I saw so much progress tonight. This was my first home game of the season and it was plain to me that we have improved and will improve more. The guys seem to have bought in to Larry's defense, and they seem to want to play offense his way too. Every so often, though, there's a mental lapse where someone jacks up the first semi-open 3-pointer they get a look at and it clanks right off the rim. There's hope to be found there, though, because that is something that can still be improved and fixed. We missed Swish tonight. His offense would have made up the significant difference that presented itself where Matt wasn't hitting a high percentage of his shots.
It's funny to see Sean May huffing and puffing 5 minutes into the game.
It's a little bit depressing to see Sean May huffing and puffing 5 minutes into the game.
He'd hustle on offense, and then jog back on defense. Eventually, it caused Larry to go in another direction with his spot in the line-up.
I like what Ryan Hollins is doing.
That Gerald Wallace rebound/slam was even more impressive in person. That guy's disgusting.
Thought: Is it illegal for Duke fans to like the Bobcats? You would think so with the boos Duke fans get when they get put up on the big screen. They'd show a carolina fan (get cheers) and then a Duke fan (boos). Back and forth, without fail. It seems really petty and bitter. The woman beside me was crying to Reddick about how much better Felton (and May??) were than him because they were champions. Didn't that happen years ago? Every time I feel ready to give Tarheel fans a chance, they remind me why they, as a group, are annoying. (Of course, this is a generality. They're not all bad.) Still, if the Bobcats drafted a Dukie, I wonder how he would be received in his home arena. I would hope that they would be supportive.
I wish I had gotten a chance to see Lexy tonight.
When you hold Dwight freaking Howard to 4 points, you MUST win that game.
I'll close with this: While some of the Ladycats looked, I hate to say, manish, Linsey is a paragon of sexy.

Nearly everybody on this board is fucking insane!!!
We find out JRich is going to miss at least 2 games, and the end of the world scenarios can't come out quick enough: "Oh, we'll get shallacked vs. Utah and Orlando. Why bother showing up?" We beat Utah, and put in a really really solid effort against Orlando and are in a position to win for 45 minutes, and still some sing the despair and futility refrain.
I'm not excluded from the insanity: after the 0-8 preseason, I thought we had a chance to go 0-90 for the year and was as pissed as could be.....NOW I see how Coach is doing his best to mold what he has into a team that can beat anybody on any given night.
Bottom line: yes, we're a very flawed team (which Coach can't stop himself from reminding us every press conference), but I'll be damned if the team is so hopeless as some of y'all let on. Though we're 2 games off of last year's pace at this time, the growth of the team is just a lot of fun to watch, and I hate some of y'all are so blinded by frustration and despair to see it :(
Looking forward to our first win vs. Mavs Tuesday....

Yeah, time to time we hear about those Turkish fans supporting Hedo and Memo in the arenas. Turkish people in US are generally in the East I guess. I've never been abroad, but they should be missing their countries and they want to see something reminding their natives, which is understandable :)
I must say that a lot of Turkish basketball columnists were generally hopeless about Hedo's future 2 seasons ago. They thought that Hedo will never be more than an average player, but Hedo showed an enormous mental improvement. We all appreciate him so much.

No, no, please... I was afraid of such kind of reactions for a while, and finally it happened. I've never questioned others' degree of being "fan". I wish you would not have done the same thing.
About being frustrated? You'd be crying if you knew the teams and players I support in various sports, they are all about frustrations and disappointments. Much more disappointing than Bobcats. But I'll never stop loving them. I'm old enough to deal with bad results of them.
Maybe I used a wrong statement when talking about being content with Jazz win. Of course I was happy with that win, I just wanted to stress that this is not a big deal, different than Hornets win.
I'd be glad if you don't suggest me to find a new team again. I'm supporting this team since it was constructed in 2003 when they do not a coach or players. They weren't even Bobcats. It was ordinary for you people around Carolina area to be a Bobcats fan then, but it was really -really- unusual for a teenager from thousands of miles from Charlotte.

It was ordinary for you people around Carolina area to be a Bobcats fan then, but it was really -really- unusual for a teenager from thousands of miles from Charlotte. I can assure you, my suggestion was innocent. It seemed from yours and Marvel's posts that the Utah win was somehow a win by default, not even a true win, something to be laughed at, when in fact ANY win in ANY sport is a GREAT thing. Not many people thought we could keep a game close, much less win a game without JRich: we kept both games close and even won a game, and still the negativity.
I was upset with the reactions, but it was never a question of fanhood; I only suggested you and Marvel look for a new team because being a fan of the Bobcats was not enjoyable and the disappointment was too much so that some wins are viewed with as much scorn as losses....which, if you look at your post that I quoted, is pretty much what you imply.
To summarize:
1. I never questioned your allegiance to the Bobcats.
2. My suggestion to maybe look for a new team (that's why I used the question mark after the first sentence of my post) had nothing to do with your allegiance, and all to do with your well-being.
3. These are interesting times for our team, so most of us are sensitive to others remarks, and our posts can be misinterpreted regardless of intent.
4. I'm happy to suffer and celebrate together with a fellow Bobcats fan thousands of miles away!
