A trade must be coming. Any ideas for who?

Looks like you beat Muttley by 3 minutes (boy you guys are fast!) so I'll post here.

Cutting 2 makes one think it's a 1 for 3 deal. The two off the top of my head:

Portland: Frye/Outlaw (or Webster)/Blake (or Rodriguez) for Crash

Toronto: Bargs/Graham/Hump for Crash

<insert team here>: Jordan gets taken to the cleaners.

Fair enough. Looks like you win this time, Wallace15!

Here's what I had on the other thread:

http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/vb/images/icons/icon1.gif Something big this way comes?
WOW. So, we've released TWO players in Andre Brown and Linton Johnson. Are we making room for a big trade? Are the Bobcats really just an experiment to see into how much of a frenzy they can send fans in online forums over who should stay, who should go, who should come in, and who should never come within 5 feet of this team's roster?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Here's Bonnell's comments. (http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2008/11/bobcats-waive-f.html)

Oh, also, through his incredible insight, Bonnell claims that as recent as Tuesday night, Larry Brown (you know him as the coach of the Bobcats) has claimed that we need larger players on this roster. This blows my mind.

Mods: feel free to delete the other thread.

If it's any consolation Muttley you definitely had the best comment!

It does make me feel like Crash is the likely one on his way out, but I still really hope this is not the case.

I guess when you get the shit kicked out of you by the Mavericks you got to do something. That game made me want to throw up in my ass.

I knew somthing was up at the game last night . One could just see it in the attitude. DJ was the only who looked happy. We will have a trade compleated by tomorrow.
I look for it to be Crash, Mabe Felton or Morrison. I just hope we don't get hozed in this.
Look for Felton to go and Tensley in . Along with Crash I hope its the Portland deal Spectre posted . But can we do somthing that smart.

I really doubt Tinsley is going to be bought out; the dude's owed like 21.5 million over 3 years. I'm also pretty sure Bird said they wouldn't buy him out...but things always change.

But can we do somthing that smart.

Personally I'd just settle for competent.

Ditto. It'd be like losing my dog.

My guess is that we are creating roster space to trade either Hammer or Nazzy for expiring deals just to get out of their contracts.

Wouldn't be at all suprised if Stackhouse ended up here.

Maybe its Matt, Raymond, and Gerald... I don't think it would be May, I mean who would want him? 3 for 5? or a 3 for 4 trade and sign Antonio McDyess. I guess we will find out soon enough....

I'm think Wallace to Portland for Outlaw & Rodriguez, and then we keep the extra spot...

I do feel something is going to happen though....

Bonnell's now saying that we just cut them because they were crap (in so many words) adn we'll look to bring in another big who's an "unnamed player".

Is there a pool of good bigs that the rest of the NBA doesn't know about where we could get someone better than Andre Brown?

Only competent big I had thought about signing that became available around the beginning of the season was David Harrison, formerly of the Pacers. He had been with them at least three years, I think he's a 7-footer, and he had SOME playing time while with them.

But still, he would only be a minor upgrade from who we just cut. I just don't get it... If we cut them just to sign some more bums, or trade Crash for an aging Stackhouse, I will be SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF.

For the long term success of the team, trading Crash makes sense. I love his effort, but he wouldn't be a starter on any team that aspires to anything more than a first round playoff exit. With four years and forty million left on his deal, it's a good move to get rid of the contract even if it hurts the team short term.

We making a move thet includes us geting two extra players . No way does MJ cut those two paid contracts with out grtting somthing in return.

IN Frye , Outlaw, Rodriguz out Wallace
Wright,M Williams, out Felton
Kamann Wallace in a three team trade
Curry Wallace
Randolph May , Felton
I have no idea what we do???

I simply can't imagine the Cats shakin' something big trade-wise. As fans we should probably let go of our sentiments towards a certain someone and hope that whatever is shaken, it adds to the team's ability to garner wins. This might seem shallow but in fact it's what I felt about this team ever since first trade rumors started flying about.

Just hoping they don't settle for a mirror trade i.e. trading players for others possessed of same skill and caliber.

At this point of season, it's meaningless to cut two players because they are crap. Will we find an Elton Brand and a James Posey from the FA now? I also think a trade might be coming and it'll probably be for Wallace, our last man from the expansion draft.

this really confuses me...i was under the impression that LB brought in Andre and Linton..and now we cut them?

getting rid of their contracts wouldn't help much, they're pennies compared to the rest of the payroll

and i agree with tamburello...what are we going to get from the FA?? we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel out of desperation... we did that last year and ended up with Nazr and a terrible contract.. i just hope we do not make the same mistake again

we really have to get rid of nazr and carroll's contracts...they are hindering our ability to bring some quality players... carrol has 5 yrs and nazr has 3 yrs..unbelievable

Watch no trade happen, and heard Jermareo Davidson isn't reporting to his NBA D team that drafted him, so watch us re-sign him..

Playoffs... I mentioned the same thing on the observer comments... Larry Brown specifically said he was bringing in Linton Johnson for his defensive skills. He mentioned how we needed a big, strong, versatile, defensive wing to guard the better offensive wing players. So, for him to waive him all of a sudden... It just doesn't make any sense, much like most of the moves we have made besides JRich.

We better end up BETTER, and that means no Stackhouse or getting jerked in some other trade. MJ better come through b/c my patience is running short as far as a our personnel moves go.

In the comments section, Bonnell says that a trade may not be coming and could just be to pave the way to pick up a couple of bigger players.

dunno. I liked Brown as an enforcer type player.

exactly, what are going to pick up??? we're almost better off not picking up anything and saving room for next year!

the only person left to pick up is mcdyess ...but then bonnell adds "but it won't be a name player." ..therefore implying that we are picking up another player for the practice squad

I'm guessing a legit big with a mediocre to low skill set-- no tweener, or skinny tall guy. Somebody thick.

But that's just my guess.

doesnt nazr fill that profile? ... but i suppose if you're right we will be looking at someone at the 4 spot, just hope they don't give a bunch of money away

Portland: Frye/Outlaw (or Webster)/Blake (or Rodriguez) for Crash
Toronto: Bargs/Graham/Hump for Crash

I don't see Portland making a move for Wallace, one of the primary advantages the Blazers have is their cap space and they have plenty of guys they need to be signing without adding Wallace's contract.

As for Toronto they're already painfully lacking in depth and this trade would further hinder that. I don't think they're ready to give up on Bargs either.

There aren't a lot of fits where a team a) needs a SF b) would be willing to part with equal talent while taking on his contract or c) has anything that we as fans would be interested in (namely a PF that can defend).

As bad as it sounds, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mikki Moore in a Bobcats jersey, maybe along with someone like John Salmons.

That does sound bad. i would rather keep Wallace and his contract rather than taking those two, even though they aren't horrible.
