Should be a good game

Hopefully DJ14 (his nickname according to his new video diary) can have another outstanding game and move into the top 10 rookie rankings. Don't get down on Felton so quick though it wouldn't surprise me if he steps his game back up tonight after watching DJ explode last night (anything you can do...). One thing I do know is we don't need to go small again in the backcourt tonight especially if Redd toughs one out and plays.
Like the Game thread BTW

Love the gamethread banner, it looks really good...I think Augustine is the real deal at PG and IMO I wouldn't be surprised to see Felton traded by midseason or a sign and trade at the end of the year...Ajinca I think helped Okafor more than we realize...Okafor looked very comfortable at PF and I think he should stay there IMO, Ajinca I think we'll do alright and get a little more playing time...IMO Ajinca goes for 6 points 5 rebounds 2 blocks and 3 Fouls in 18 minutes...

I think it's high time the Bobcats grab a win, with Redd out of the way it simply has to happen. If Larry eases up on the Ray+D.J. combo, I say Cats win this one by 9+. And for the love of God, bench Matt, let Adam feast on Jason's minutes, just for a wee bit.

I feel the same way bing. I think if Adam would play for 30 mins he could get 20 or more. Seems like he's getting his mojo back. DJ played like a beast last night. He reminded me of Paul. Passing of course isn't there yet, but I think with more time it will come. I hope LB goes with the big lineups tonight, Mek/Hollins, or Lex/Hollins. Seems to work most of the time. Lex did look a lot more comfortable out there than he did in preseason. Not that he looked great but to me he's come a long way. I hope we can pull out a win tonight.

Mek playing pretty big. 2 of 5 offensive rebounds, aggressive, and he sits down. Someone tell me, if Ammo is our designated 6th man, why is Matt Carroll the first person off the bench when Augustin starts?

Yep DJ, Mek and Raymond all playing aggressive so far on offense.

You still aren't getting the games on FSN South (Carolinas)? I swear it would make a lot of sense to air them on News 14 once again until they fixed the situation.

Guess they're happy with the current fanbase and ticket sales.

New York scores 35 points in a single quarter whilst it takes an entire half for Cats to rake in 36, now that's what I call offensive inefficiency (blame it on pacing or whatnot, Cats' offense blows without Jason).

DJ's only took 4 shot and made 3 of them so far, he only took 1 shot in the 2nd, GW the same but he has foul shots too.... what a low scoring game a defensive battle or sloppy play by both teams? All I can see is the box score tonight since none of the feeds are working....Thanks for your input to the guys that can see the game or at least hear it...

Not having that 5th piece is killing us. Looks like LB's now trying Crash there with Ammo at the 3. Dickie is struggling, let's hope this doesn't re-energize him.

Welcome to another Bobcats loss. The bad part is all these losses that are far from blowouts. I would almost rather they get blown out rather than lose games they let slip through their hands.

Ammo doesn't have the confidence he's played with the last few games tonight.
Raymond with the HUGE 3 pointer and now Mek fouls out fuck.
Shannon Brown with the block on dickhead on one end than sprints down the court and hits a jumper greatness.

Ammo was 0/6 tonight in 20.37 minutes, maybe its a good thing he was making the extra pass....
I would have loved to have seen that!
It was awesome. It was Dickhead on the fast break one on one with Crash (Crash was in front of him) and Shannon came from over the back and slapped it hard against the board. Then he ran the court and made the nice tear drop at the other end to cap it all off!!

I think every game this year we have had one player listening too hard. Tonight, it was Ammo I also thought DJ was a shy w/ the trigger on some good looks. Our guards must be damn near perfect in order to win games (especially in the absence of J-Rich). I hope this knee thing doesn't turn into an Arenas situation.

No doubt he was gun shy tonight.

Okafor (16 pts 18 rebounds) & Wallace (18 points 5 rebounds 1 steal) had a great game...It was sad to see our bench (5-20, 12 pts) do so horribly also I think Ajinca should have played more...Sure he was 1-5, but he could have also taken a few of Okafor's fouls and I think could have made a few more shots, so I was kind of upset about that...DJ (4-13) and Felton (6-16) were kind of upseting...Its frustrating losing like this so close, definitely when the other teams beats us shooting 36.8%...
David Lee to Charlotte would be great...

You guys dont get what i am saying. He is taking shots but being rushed and he doesn't looked like he is sure he should take them. He doesn't seem confident to take a shot.
spectre
11-22-2008, 09:44 PM
Doesn't he typically get gunshy when he's missing shots? Ammo IMO seems to be the most fragile in terms of letting things affect his confidence on the court.
If he is not sure if he should be taking shots or is gun shy then he is less than useless to us because he brings NOTHING else to the table.
Dead_Real
11-22-2008, 10:05 PM
I have no idea whats wrong with him because before tonight it looked like he had his "Zaga swagger" back.
BIGCatBobcat
11-22-2008, 10:22 PM
Morrison definitely gets gun-shy when he starts to think too much. Make the extra pass is a garbage way to say non-shooters dont shoot. shooters need to shoot early and often, feels good, open enough look take the damn shot.

When he's not "thinking" about things, he seems to make his shots. But when he's had a few good outings, and people start to say he is "coming around", he seems to be feeling the pressure. The great ones love the pressure, good ones deal with it well, avg. ones just cope with it the best they can, but your below avg ones can't handle it. I am hoping he is in the "good" range, or at least the "avg", but he may be in the "below avg" group.

David Lee to Charlotte would be great... Thank goodness I was feeling under the weather and couldn't go to this one tonight, cause it was U.G.L.Y to watch on the telly. Glad to see DJ wasn't a complete disaster on the 2nd night of his first back to back, though he obviously wasn't "on". Glad to see Mek can still get it done once in a while.
Definitely agree with ALong13 about Lexy: no, he wasn't infalliable out there with giving up an offensive rebound in the 2nd half and not catching Felton's entry pass in the post, but every time he was on the court, the Cats were outscoring the Bucks and he was doing a great job on Mbahamoute and Bogut and anyone else he was guarding (except for giving Dick Jefferson an open 3 early in the 1st on a switch with GW....when Larry prompty called a TO and put JD in). Loved the fact he's getting little by little more confidence and taking more shots: every one was on line, just the touch was a tad off. No real clue why he didn't get more PT especially to start the 4th....
Like I said on the Atlanta thread, until JRich is back, this is what we can expect each game; and until we can acquire a legit starting 4, we can expect this most games; so I see no reason to get down as long as I think the guys are giving effort and it appears that since the Mavs game, they're all doing well in that department. The rookies are learning, the team is learning to play without JRich which will make them better when he returns, and we'll just plug along as best as we fans can....

...I've never fully felt this way about the Bobcats, but unlike ever before with this team....after staying up until 1 a.m. to watch last nights game on the dvr, all I could think was "we just suck...." and tromped off to bed.
Some developments I like....
DJ is better than I've given him credit for.
Maybe Okafor can play PF ... giving us the possibility of a big front line.
some dreadfuls...
Ammo Carroll...watched Adam do a goose-like 25 ft. back-pedal/shuffle against a breaking Mav the other night (Josh Howard?). I was embarrassed for him. I'm tired of feeling embarrassed for my home team players.
Felton's inconsistancy...great against the Bucks, sucked against the Hawks; yawn. Once again missed the clutch basket at the end of the Bucks game. As much as Ammo excels at buzzer beaters, Felton seems to excel at missing them.
Ajinca is a novelty, but is not ready. Losers have to depend on novelties.
Sean May is officially done. Watching him, I've noticed he can't yet cut on the knee or even stop on a sprint; he stutter-steps to protect it. All gone.

It was kind of pathetic seeing him on the stationary bike last night during the game. Is that the solution to getting him in shape? Make him bike during the games? Doesn't that kind of imply that he's not doing anything outside of the games? Pathetic.

my thoughts about May were, if he's on the bench he needs to be on a bike. Game days if he's not on the court he needs to be on the bike, paying attention to the game. i know it's probably bad and embarassing but come on so is his play, his body, his general attitiude.
