I liked the way DJ14 as he is calling his self now started . Hes much better than i would have ever thought. I think its his starting spot to lose now even though im a huge Felton fan. So i give Brown a A+ for starting DJ14.
Brown starting Lexy i feel worked too . It wasn't so much Lexy as it was Mek . Mek seemed so much more comfortable playing the four. Notice we took the lead in both the 1st and the 2nd half with both bigs in the game. I feel we should have had a rotation of Mek , Lexy, and Hollins staying big the whole game . Notice we stayed with Atlanta on the boards in the first half . And their offense never clicked in the first . Til Duds came in. We seemed to lose defense and rebounding.
I would say starting Lexy is a B+ and i would like to see Mek playing more four.
Your thoughts ????
DJ 14 hes calling his self and signing autograffs Thoughts on the name too....

I give coach a A for trying this last night. I think we found our new PG and I think we should continue with the big's experiment....

On the PG situation I give Coach Brown a A+ on that deal...I think Augustine is the real deal and will be our starter soon enough...I really think he could be a Chris Paul type player in a few years...Ajinca I think did more than people think...He didn't get too many times to shoot and didn't doo bad, I believe he was 1-3 for 2 points..he only had 1 rebound but I think he'll improve with time, but Okafor looked very comfortable at PF and did well, So I give them a B-

Thought this bit was beautiful: (from Bonnell)
Before the game, captains Wallace and Raymond Felton took him aside to remind him he wouldn’t be punished for being aggressive.
“I said, ‘You take that shot!’ ’’ Felton recalled. “We know you can make it.’’
That led to less thinking, more executing.
“I was confused about what (Brown) wanted me to do (before) but I wasn’t thinking about that tonight,’’ Augustin said. “And I knew I had Raymond. If I got trapped (by the defense), he was there for me.’’
It's all hugs and kisses between the pgs.

For now.....I'm sure Felton won't be too excited when DJ takes his starting PG spot. The writing is on the wall for Felton and it will be interesting to see how he handles it.

If the trade market doesn't pan out, we can always try The Wookie Experiment. Chewbacca would make one heck of a PF

I think Mek has proven the last two games . He plays much better with another big in the game with him . So far the Brown experiment has benefited Mek more than any one else.

I'm kind of upset that Ajinca is only playing 11 and 15 minutes, sure its more than he was and he's not shooting that well, but one it gets him expierence plus Okafor has played very well with a big man at Center (Hollins and/or Ajinca in the game)

And think of what Mek could do with a 4 or 5 that has experience and firm grasp on the NBA game alongside him....
Also, in both games he's started, they've gotten off to early leads and they hold them, and when he's out, they begin to lose the lead and fall behind. Lexy isn't the difference maker, I'm not saying that, but his presense sure as hell does help as the stats back it up!

I think brown my be limiting Lex's minutes b/c he is a rookie and he doesn't have the nba condictioning to play 40 minutes a night and no one knows how his body will hold up over the long nba schedule. I do think we need to look for him a bit more on offense. He is constantly posting up his man and calling for the ball and no one ever passes to him. It should be easy to pass the ball to him in the post because he has good hands and he is so tall just toss it up high. The shots he has been taking have come on broken plays where some one tosses him the ball as a last resort and he has to chuck up a hard shot. Lets see if we can get the big guys going.

Do you really think he should be playing 40mins a night anyway? I know we are depleted down low but i think 15-20mins is being pretty generous for a guy that really should be logging minutes in the D-League. He's just not ready even if he does bring some energy to the court.
I'd rather see him get 30-35mins a game in the D-League than 15 in the NBA. He needs to play the game more and build some confidence if he's going to be our PF of the future.

I'd rather have him learn in the big show. The better talent he learns against, the more he will be able to develop.

And how does everyone feel about Lex today?
Say it with me now...Give me an "N"! Give me a "B"! Give me a "D"! Give me an "L"!

i trust LB...if he keeps praising Frenchie it's for a reason...yesterday in the press conference, he brought up Frenchies name right after answering a question about another player ( if i remember correctly)
yes, he sucks right now...i've never seen someone commit fouls so quickly..he's had lane violations ..but he's just nervous i think. surely he can't be THAT bad in practice, otherwise he wouldn't be playing... gotta give him more time, his fouls are not really hurting us in the 1Q or 2Q

He had two bad possesions last night where he got the ball in the post. One he caught the ball turned to face up then did a spin and got to deep on the baseline and turned the ball over. Next time down the court he got the ball and ended up taking a turnaround fadeaway where he got bumped and missed everything. You could tell after that he was trying to make somthing happen on both ends to make up for his mistakes. The shot he did make right before they took him out was a foot inside the three point line.
Right now part of the deal with Lex is that he still plays more like a small forward then a big man on offense. When he catches the ball deep he wants to pivit into a turnaround fadeaway or face up. At his size you would like to see him just rise turn and pop it off the glass or some type of up and under move where he can draw a foul. When he gets his confidence going he will be a matchup nightmare, even that he would try to turn and face up a player from the post at his size is sick. The fact that he can shoot gives a lot of flexibility to the offense because he can draw the other teams big away from the basket so we can post up guys like gerald and j-rich.

The guys have to learn how to pass him the ball, hell they need to learn how to pass the ball with out causing a turn over, they had 19 turn overs in the last game. But what Im saying here is they have never had a good player at the 4 spot so they have never passed that much to the 4 spot, they will have to learn this skill.....
I'm ok with him. He shows nice form on his J and obviously has range. The game seems a little quick for him at the moment, but he is young and green so that is to be expected.
I like that he shows some hustle. I can see him panning out over time, but I'm not expecting anything great for a long while.
I bet he has one break out game this season though. He'll have something like 20pts, 10 boards, 4 blocks and 2 assists.
Book it.

Something I didn't know, but according to Bonnell (http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2008/11/source-scouting.html), Sam Vincent ran plays last year. Actually a pretty funny little blurb from Ricky B.

Ten plays seems a bit excessive. Tecmo Super Bowl only had eight, and you could dominate with good play calling. I recognize TSB is a football game, but the principal still holds (don't ask me why, it's science).
