This kinda pisses me off with no disrespect to others . But thats leaves no advantage to season ticket holders. HELL we can just all wait and buy our tickets half price and just decide what games we don't want to pay for or go to.
They should do more for season ticket holders in terms of price. With that said once again nothing is personal in this.

what would you like them to do after you have bought the tickets...i guess not discount them in the first place?

They did do something for the season ticket holders. Did you get the email they sent out? They've put in a "Ticket Credit" between $250 - $1000, depending on what level your ticket packagae is. It's basically free tickets to wherever you want to sit that's available. I think that's pretty good.

I understand what you're saying about the price drops, but I always looked at it as the extra benefits you get beyond those discounts. Sure, these price drops can be aggrivating after I've already paid for mine, but I also get the opportunity to do things like having the team take you on a road trip to training camp, meals included. Just my two cents

A cheaper season ticket or even a up graded seat for games not sold out would help . But doing this hindsite makes me want to skip buying season tickets . Its no advantage at all to buying season tickets. I can see discounting packeges or even upper level seating . But i belive you should take care of your season ticket holders too. Up graded seats or somthing. Even if its just a free soda somthing for being loyal.

I didn't see that. Is that for full season or half season holders?

The whole thing is a mess. I already like my seats and I have tickets for every game, why do I want to buy more? I'm going to fight and see if I can get this "stimulus" as part of a downpayment for next season.

They should've given us upgrade coupons, like you get at the airlines. That would've made more sense.

There is ZERO incentive to being a season ticket holder. The "perks" don't exist, heck, I still don't have my SWAG for this season. As long as the arena is at 50% capacity, it makes more sense to buy tickets at a discount and get the Ruth's Chris dinner out of it.

you were supposed to get a credit to your account for future games. you can get upgrades for the game or add additional tickets. at first, i was pretty pissed. i was thinking the same thing-why did i buy season tickets? it seems like we are getting burned for supporting the team for all 41 games. i just took some family to the game tonight and realized that this is part of the game-sharing it with others and having them enjoy the Bobcats experience. i agree though, it rubs me the wrong way.

As a ST holder I think it's a really good idea to get people into the arena on the cheap and make the place not seem like a decomissioned aerodrome as it has most nights this year.

I admit I have the cheapest available STs in section 215 (and they're still really good seats....it's cool to get hooked up right!), and I have the best ST rep who lets me sit in 107 anytime I want and has gotten me some goodies that I probably shouldn't have, but from my perspective, I think it's a good idea to give the population at large a chance to see games at a good discount.

I agree, for folks like Keetch, they should offer a cash refund or something of the sort, because I don't think it's possible to upgrade the Keetch seats unless you're sitting next to the bench or on the court....which aren't available.

As far as perks, ST holders have the ultimate perk in that there is the possibility of being interviewed by "Tone" at halftime on Bobcatsvision!!

On a serious note, if you have a lousy ST rep, give them hell and/or email Michael Thompson and let him know....or let me know and I'll tell him for you; there's just NO excuse for that.

Did anyone in attendance see a difference at tonight's game, since it was one of the 50% off games?

i can see why ST holders might be upset...thats like when you buy the stupid ipod and two days later a better one comes out for half the price!

i hope you guys get some sort of benefit for it...

at the same time though...wouldn't having more people in the arena improve the overall experience of the game?

Once again, I hate to say this, I think the Bobcats really messed up again with this promotion. The bottom line is this...It's not the price of the tickets that are keeping people away, it's simply the product on the floor. So dropping the tickets prices in half will do nothing to boost PAID attendance. All it's going to do, which it apparently already has, is make season tickets holders mad and devalue the benefits of having season tickets. Sure season ticket holders get a credit to purchase additional seats but, big deal, they already have their seats that they bought. Why would they need additional tickets except to bring friends and family for free which gives the Bobcats no extra revenue. And the people going for free still arent going to want to purchase tickets in the future until the Bobcats start winning. I actually think their "paid" attendance is fairly decent for a franchise that has never had a winning season or a playoff berth. Even though this is an expansion team, this is not an expansion market that will attend games just for the novelty. The Bobcats have to just be aware of this and work hard to put a winning team on the court. Then the attendance issue will take care of itself. But in the meantime they are making a mistake in devalueing their tickets for the season ticket holders and general public.

i disagree..

1) they should have run a good promotion at the beggining of the year in order to get more people to buy ST or individual games, not do it in the middle of the season, this obviously upsets the ST holders... i think though that our attendance # are lower this year than last year, so they are freaking out

2) lower ticket prices should be done simultaneous to building the team...Mark Cuban proved it worked at Dallas, this should have been our approach from the first day .... however, they overestimated attendance thinking the Hornet fans would support the Bobcats

this is a good article someone else had posted in the Observer comments on Cuban's approach

Careful stimulating those tickets...you could make a big mess lol

It may do nothing for paid attendance but it will sell overpriced beer and hot dogs and maybe something from the team store. Thats revenue they wouldn't receive if they didn't "give" the tickets away. I have no problem with trying to get butts in the seats at discounted prices, it makes for a better viewing experience for all of us.

My beef is that I get no love from my ST rep. I have never been upgraded and haven't rec'd any "goodies" yet this year, not even the ones I was supposed to get. I have 4 club seats smack dab in the middle so I cut them a hefty check each year. I vented to my guy and I got radio silence. Some how, they need to make the ST holders feel good about this and giving a credit to additional games isn't the right way to do it. They have the Ruth's Chris promo, throw me a few free dinners, that would be great. Let Lindsey the Lady Cat sit with me for a game, that would be great too.

In all seriousness, as I've said before, there is no incentive to buy season tickets to this team right now. None. Zero.

I agree that if these price drops were done before the season it would have been a good idea. If they would have had a promotion in the off season for discounted season tickets and individual game tickets it would have helped sell some extra seats. But doing it in the middle of a 3-9 start to the season, after the season ticket holders already paid big bucks, is another page out of the "HOW TO MAKE A FRANCHISE FAIL" manual that the Bobcats have been following. But still, to expect dramatic increase in tickets sales you have to have a winning team. This market just simply will not support the Bobcats until they start being competitive on the court. The Bobcats just have to be careful in the meantime not to devalue their tickets because then once they start winning people might expect these same 50% discount prices.

you contradict yourself...though

once we start winning, they won't need those people that are expecting the 50% discount prices...they'll have others ready to pay full price... it might alienate some of the fans

but..you're right they don't know how to run a franchise..when we played the mavericks, Cuban just sat there in between TOs staring at the empty seats...i wonder what he thought

a lot of the problems with the franchise i think have to do with lack of experience...i don't know if Bob knew what he was getting into when he bought it..and MJ is an example of what NOT TO DO as a GM...since Bob will never be able to connect with people, MJ should step in to that role...SPECIALLY, if MJ has dreams of buying the franchise...he should take the opportunity to connect with the fans, etc...but that will never happen
