So I know it has been discussed here before, but how is picking him up really a good decision by the FO?
Says on NBA.com today that he will be on the bench for the game and he has
been in the NBA as long as May ( which is the position they are looking to fill )
Jones has played in 74 games over three seasons with Boston and Cleveland, averaging 1.3 points and 2.4 rebounds.
3 seasons 74 games,, Sean Mays non injured Clone
I hope May gets in-shape, this is a dumb move.

I feel like I've been hoping for that to happen since we drafted him.

Muttley, I agree. I haven't gave up complete hope yet, but my wick is coming to an end. I guess the only thing that shines a glimmer of hope is the games he played where he was good on the glass and playing well. But even if we say May is good as gone and done in the NBA, it really baffles me that the FO would pick up someone with worse stats than the person they are trying to replace.
Makes me wonder sometimes what the hell the FO is thinking. Just read also Mcdyess is going back to the pistons next month. So there goes that glimmer of hope also :)

You know Bonnell made a good point the other day. I am all for trying whatever we can at the 4 but this is starting to get silly. Bonnell said that we've spend $1mil at least between Davidson, A.Brown, Linton, and this guy.

agree , this pick is just ridiculous. I mean his stats are way worse than a healthy May. We should have just ran it until we found something that worked or may got in shape enough to play 20-30mins a game.
Retarded F.O. sums it up.

I think (could be wrong tho) that the 1 million is a little misleading. Over 700k was Davidson and he was the only guaranteed guy...the rest just got paid for their time here. After we made the decision to let Davidson go the replacements haven't really cost us anything to just try and then release.
There's a cut off date for when all contracts become guaranteed for the rest of the year, I think sometime around the 2nd week of January.
I just don't see how he gets any burn at all behind EO50, Nazzy, Lex and Twiggy - let alone McMay.
man i just saw him on the bench (got back from the game) and he doesnt look that big. for some reason i thought he was a big guy who can bang inside. he looks somewhat smaller. i guess everyone looks smaller next to Mcmay.I wouldnt be concerned about May, he seems so far in the doghouse that we might not see him play much unless we are audtioning him for a trade.
another thing to add, imagine if he was in good shape and could run up and down the court. man we have some potential....what a bum.

If we really want a banger in the paint, I'm pretty sure Jake's available.
Just sayin'.

The PF discussion is so bleak we're debating a guy that won't play more than 10 minutes. Teams sign and waive this end of the bench all the time. It's hardly a pickup of consequence and the team realizes that.

He had the chance to play last night and didn't I don't even see him getting ten minutes a game, and I don't see him lasting more than a few weeks...
playoffs...PLAYOFFS?

of course you didn't see him play. He could be jet lagged..
But more importantly...he hasn't PRACTICED... if LB is supposed to be as anal as people make him sound to be about his practices...why would he play some guy who hasn't had an opportunity to practice with the team?
If we wanted to play him yesterday..we could have picked up some guy off the park and played him too
Dwaynes jones is here to play defense, pick up rebounds, get blocks, set screens, block out... he is a role player.. it's inexcusable that whoever plays 4 in our team can't get any rebounds... Frenchie is still learning the game , Dudley is undersized, and when we play Okafor at 4, who do we leave at 5? nazr is slow as crap, cant make free throws....and Hollins still needs to improve
there is no mystery to why we picked up this guy...if you look at his stats he wasn't much of an offensive threat but he did decently well with rebounds, defense. that's what we need right now.

Yeah well I don't know, i think it is stupid. Jones is not a rebounding machine by no stretch of the imagination. Averages 2.4 boards a game. Give any other member more playing time and you get that. I am just saying it is a stupid move, unless he is literally trade filler.

He is just a guy that sits on the end of the bench and never plays unless someone gets injured...

DING DING DING! We have a winner!
We're notoriously thin in the fromtcourt. So they went and signed some big dude hoping he can go out and at least get in the way in case someone gets hurt during a game and we need a big body to fill in for him.
