At 6'9" he's smallish for the 4 and he's not a consistent scorer. He's a nice bench player, but not a part of a longterm solution for the Cats.

I was asking Spectre about him the other week and we both sort of thought he was more a poor mans Crash type - a slasher rather than a post up sort of guy - which is a pity because it does seem like he could be pretty easily had.

I kinda like that trade. Crittendon could come in and play the 1 or the 2, and especially the 2 if J-Rich is traded. As Big Slam stated, he is a slasher type of guy. I believe he is around 220 lbs, so the post area is not his friend.

I do understand the size issue. Really depends on how strong he is also. And Crittendon is young and would give LB his 3rd PG - and he's young enough tutor him. I just thought w/ Ammo's play so far, if we dont make any Major moves, this could be a respectable return. Also, if Warrick can also play like a poor man's Crash, that gives us a little insurance in case Crash suffers another concussion.

if we get Warrick, who is a poor man's Crash, then why don't we trade Crash instead of Swish? A swish and a poor man's Crash is better than a Crash and another Crash.

The problem seems to be other teams don't want Crash or they're trying to rip us off for him...there are a lot of "soft" teams that could use his energy and his stats so I don't get it...I just hope their reluctance turns to our benefit...

Warrick I think only played a year at Syracuse and was a one and done...very athletic and played SF in college...poor mans Crash (as he has been described by others) is probably correct....but it took Crash 3-4 years to get his NBA head (he was a one and done at my Alma Mater) so Warrick might be worth the bench space (more so than McMay) and if LB can actually teach him to play the game he coulod be a steal....I don't know anything about his BB IQ but have never heard/read anything about him being a character problem...

I've haven't seen a lot of Warrick, but from what I remember he's mostly a "within 5 ft" face up guy...the type that gets the garbage scores on putbacks, etc. He's not a back to the basket guy.

Don't let our comparison to Crash fool anyone; that was about scoring inside. Warrick is nowhere near as aggressive as Crash in the paint nor is there any comparison defensively. Bringing Warrick in should have nothing to do with whether we keep Crash or not.

I'd do this all day long. Supposedly MJ liked Crittenden, it'd make our PG depth even better and also make it a possibility of moving Felton (tho I don't know how much...Crit isn't that good, and LB will want a vet on the roster). Warrick...assuming we don't do an idiotic Kaman for Swish trade...would get a lot more burn than Ammo and he's better than all our projects.

Edit:

Slam, you sure we were talking about Warrick? I'm pretty sure he's not a slasher, but plays like a PF? The more I've thought about it the more I think we're getting players crossed up?

Hammer
for
Warrick and Jarvis works too

and is something I would be much more comfortable with.

That would be great if we could Crittenton and Warrick for Carroll. Doubt they would do that though. I would consider Morrison for Crittenton and Warrick. Crittenton like 6'5" and he plays pretty good D if i remember right. He could gaurd both sg and pg.

I don't think I would have to give a thought before I'd do that deal.

That would be my first option i would want to do. But Warrick is playing big minutes so i think they would only take Morrison and not Carroll. But do this trade first then the memphis trade. all trades work

Felton and May to Portland for Frye and Webster

then trade Morrison to Memphis for Warrick and Crittenton

we get a pf/c to pair with mek for Felton who we probably wont resign and throw in may to make the $ work and he's off portlands books at the end of this year. we get Webster to make up for Morrison's shooting loss and get a very solid bench player in Warrick and a big guard in Crittenton. we improve in all areas with these two trades and we still have J-rich and Crash at the end of it. and all of these trades are realistic to happen. thoughts?

Hakim Warrick wasn't one and done at Syracuse, he played all 4 years. I wouldn't mind him here doing a little of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKTfEE4bfvQ ...

I understand why they call him the Helicoptor now. What a terrible nickname.

You're absolutely correct...I had heard about him in "05 (which turned out to be his senior year when I checked)...I've only glimpsed him play while in the NBA and have no idea what kinda of college player he was...I know he was Big East first team his last two years (knew about one)...the few times I've seen him in the NBA have been short but I got the impression he liked to dunk and he appears very athletic...I'm not sure (until this year with Memphis ) he's ever gotten much playing time...

I would rather have Arthur than Hak,there's a reason a rookie is in the starting lineup over a vet

So would I, but teams rarely deal rookies mid-season. The last time that I remember anybody dealing a person after their rookie season was TOR when the sent Villanueva to MIL for Ford. Anybody have any others?
