The last few months, this board has hated almost everything the team has done. The PA guy is a decible too loud, Larry Brown's 3rd quarter line up sucks, Okafor is soft, Crash's head hurts, Matt Carroll is grossly over paid and gets way too minutes (that one is just me haha). and quite frankly its just getting way too depressing for me.

Look fellas, we cheer for an expansion franchise in a small market. If anyone thinks we are gonna win a championship in under 5 years.... you were sadly, sadly mistaken. If you think that everything the front office does will make you happy, then again, you are mistaken and haven't paid attention to most NBA front offices for the past 12 years. My point is this: if this team needs anything, its a strong consistent fan base that understands the team it cheers for.

So in the spirit of Thanksgiving... this thread is for nothing but positive, thankful comments. Anything even remotely negative will be edited with smiley faces like so: Sean May is a :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:.

Do i mean you have to be happy about everything this team and organization does, of course not. I expect you to rant and rave about everything sucking as usual, as will I. But I also think we need a little positive balance so that we all can remain sane. And we all need to remember that having an NBA franchise in your home area is something to be thankful for, regardless of its record.

Eastern Europe knows not the holiday that is thanksgiving thus devoiding us of every sentiment that could be classified as 'jolly', 'merry' and what have you, so I'll go ahead and say that Sean May is a - that is all.

Do the smiley edit.

MOST OF ALL, I AM HAPPY TO HAVE A TEAM. WE CAN CHEER, BOO AND QUESTION ALL THE ISSUES ABOUT THE TEAM BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THINK TO BE HAPPY FOR IS THAT WE ACTUALLY HAVE A TEAM!

It was odd those couple years with no basketball team in this great State.

During those years I was an avid Pacers fan, so I can't sympathise with you guys on that one. And if I had to name something to be thankful for when it comes to Bobcats it'd be that it seems that things can't get any worse than they are now, so looking forward to better days to come would be 'the something' I'm grateful for. Sean May is a -. ('tis the last time I do this, I promise)

I'm thankful for the guys on the floor. I haven't seen one game this season where I felt like the effort wasn't there. They're a solid group of young men that this city can take pride in.

I got most of my negativity out during the off-season stuff with Kyle Weaver and Shannon Brown, and the 0-8 preseason. I got over the former, and the latter has really helped me not be too disappointed with the W/L results thus far. With Larry at the helm, things are okay by me, and aside from the Mavs game, I haven't seen any reason to make fun of the team or give them grief: they are a flawed team being shaped as best it can into a "team."

Plus, when Ziggy posts such things as can be seen on this thread......WTF is there to be mad about?!?! :o (I think I'd be even less than a "minuteman" with Natasha! Good glory! Have mercy! Etc!)

Was is a good post idea Beagle, We have been getting a little carried away in our bashing of the team. But you haveto admit it was much needed bashing at times. But This is a young team. This States second team. I am VERY VERY thankful to have a team in my state. I'm thankful to have a team that people outside my state cheer for, that brings me extra joy. I cheer win or lose, I just want some respect around the league for once. I'm thankful for LB he's not the new Jesus but he'll bring some of that respect back. I had it the first two yrs, there was a let down year but I see our bright future.
We can bash and hate on the players, coaches, management even each other if it comes to it. But I'm thankful we have a place to all come and have equal chance to do all that.

So Thank You for reading......

In keeping with the positive theme...

If anyone hasn't been by the team's homepage lately, they held their 5th Annual Hoops and Hope dinner for underprivileged kids and their families at Jillian's before heading out onto the road.

Regardless of our 4-10 record, I am still very thankful that Larry Brown is our head coach, and I'm even more thankful that Sam Vincent is far, far away.

I'm thankful that Bobcats Planet is such a well-run site with blogs, forum, etc. that is frequented by almost completely level-headed individuals that like to discuss the going-ons of a team that would tend to disappoint more fans than the average NBA team.

On to the franchise... I'm thankful for the hard work that we see out of our players. They may not all be all-stars, or even close to that, but our team has some quality human beings that give their all every night and for my money, the NBA wouldn't be right without them in it.

Here, here...on both counts, but especially the first. I came on board during pre-draft of '07 (I think Vincent had just been hired =shudder=), and if not for the cathartic rants we all made and the discussions and the comisserating, I can't imagine how much more miserable last season would've been without my BCP brethren!

And, yeah, we have always had a good core of guys that makes it fun to pull for them despite the record over the years. They play hard, are dedicated, want to brings wins for the fans, and don't complain about having to play in front of empty houses most nights (hell, Gerald said after the Mavs game that he doesn't blame people for not coming out because of the way they had been playing). It's not always been fun or easy, but I swear I'd pull for no other team in the league over our guys, and I think things are headed in the right direction long-term (as long as Coach and Natasha:cool: are around).

I second that!

Also I'm thankful to have a team that despite our records plays night in and night out as hard as can be to win a game...

I'm also thankful we haven't traded Crash and we drafted DJ Augustin despite my wishes against him...

And of course I'm happy to see Sean May's contract end...Sorry May...

On today's Chat on ESPN.com, John Hollinger was asked about the Bobcats. He said that LB's history is to start slow and then gain traction as the season progresses. He said not to be surprised if the Bobcats make a late run for the 8th seed.

It's always a nice surprise for ESPN to say something nice about the Cats.
