TNT is the best NBA coverage since NBA on N!BC. That's a hard N from Marv Albert. Doug Collins is a know it all, that's the only thing I'm not enjoying. Actually I don't really like the two teams playing right now.
Remember 3 years ago when the average age of the Suns and Mavs was something like 24? Now they have coaches that might be younger than a couple players. Rick Carlisle looks young and I can remember Terry Porter playing against Shaq. Not very exciting ball like it used to be. All these guys have been around for a while and every story about them has been told. Not just because they have been 2 of the best teams over the last few years but because they couldnt get over that hump. You talk about and analyze "what could have been" or why they can't get over that hump. I've heard more about their families tonight between Collins' stories and the Craig Sager reports than I really care to know.
Jason Kidd on one team Grant Hill on the other. Do you realize they shared the Rookie of the Year honors back in the 1994-95 season? That's 14 seasons ago! Between these two teams there are 4 MVP's (Shaq, Dirk, Nash twice). Amare is a hell of a player. Josh Howard is a nice player, you might say he smokes the competition (best weed joke I could think of). Just realized he's not playing, he's the youngest best player on either team. This is why I watched a good bit of DeLaHoya/Pacquiao 24/7. It's frustrating.
I like most everything I hear from Barkley but I'm tired of hearing him tell people what to do, especially the "Shut da Hail Up!" that he's been tossing around. LeBron needs to, Amare needs to as well, Kenny the Jet always needs to and I think Barkley openly dispises EJ. Anyway, had to get all that off my chest.
