View Full Version : Charlotte Bobcats at Milwaukee Bucks 12/5

The Bobcats have their first 2 game winning streak of the season and have won 4 of their last 6 games. Emeka has played great over the last 2 games, Raymond is averaging 13 assists over the last 2 and things are going well.

ILBIT

The Bucks on the other hand have lost 4 out of their last 5 and have dropped to 8-12. If we win tonight we'll pass them in the standings. There is one positive though, when it comes to Drunk Dancing Fans (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78WRPRF-Mvg) they're the best in the business. Supposedly this guy is a Milwaukee staple that dances at a lot of the Bucks and UWM games... Good Times.

Are we on our way to a 3 game win streak?

I want this game bad as im sure the Bobcats want it bad too. We lost last game 79-74 only by five points with out Swish . Of corse they was missing Redd.
This should be a true cat fight . The best game of the night. They have home court but we have pay back in our mind . If Larry Brown isn't good at any thing else hes good at revenge match ups pay back as im sure thats whats in our mind tonight.
A tough game whitch might set the corse of the rest of the year for both teams. Not a must win for either team . But a game both wants badly seting a playoff tone for either team .

Larrys Cats in in a close Cat FIGHT fur will be flying tonight.

On to buisiness...
It's time to beat the ever-lovin' Buck outta Milwaukee!

Alice Cooper once taught me that Milwaukee, an indian name which is actually pronounced "mill-e-wah-que," is Algonquin for "the good land."

Hopefully it will be "the good land" for the Bobcats tonight!

Even though we're losing, I'm liking what I see. Felton with the three assists and the nasty crossover on Ridnour. Okafor with the deluxe block. If we settle down on D, we'll be in good shape.

May got up for a rebound too. There was at least 8 inches between his feet and the floor.

Joe Alexander also had a nice put back.

The zebras killed us all night tonight. This is the reason the bobs really don't have a chance. In the NBA it is basicly a popularity contest with the refs. They reward home teams and big market teams. The call at the end could have gone either way but we probably lost 10 possesions on horrible calls this game and most of the bucks points at the end of the game came on freethrows. There is a clear double standard on a lot of calls.

We pissed another one away! Rebounds killed us. 41 - 27. And Nazr plays 13 min and gets 0 rebounds - a Center and no rebounds? Bad decision making in the 2nd half killed us also. Not real happy w/ some of Ray's decisions in the end, but it was not as bad as some other games. Still, just cant let the other team get a rebound off a missed FT with 10 sec left. That sealed our fate.

dnbman
12-05-2008, 11:11 PM
Ohara, what decisions did you not like? For the most part, he deferred to other players, and he hit some pretty big shots. Considering he was guarding their best offensive player, giving up several inches in the process, I thought he was pretty darn good.

I think the only problem we had tonight was height, covering their players and getting rebounds. If we had another solid big to rotate in, I think we would have won that.

millst2
12-05-2008, 11:14 PM
we need to get rid of nazr :)

all we needed to do tonight was to have gave them 2 less offensive boards and converted them into our points.

What did they have 15 offensive boards to our 7?

Dead_Real
12-05-2008, 11:15 PM
Rebounds sucked but it didn't KILL us considering we were still in the game late. Ray just hit the 3 pointer which put us only down 3 points. If J-Rich got the and 1(plus made his ft shot) instead of getting the offensive foul we would have been put in a position to win. It was all downhill after Boguts flop it seemed to take away our momentum.

ohara831
12-05-2008, 11:16 PM
I had to listen to it and follow it on line. From the calls, a couple poor shot selections and ball movement in critical places. He was not shooting poorly as the other night tho. And like I said, he was not the reason we lost, not at all. But too often he seems to think he has to do the impossible when he doesn't. If he just will play within himself, he would be better. Too many times he just makes decisions which leaves him trying to do more than he has the talent to do.

Mustachio

Emeka Okafor was a force tonight I thought. he doesnt even look like the same player. Steve Martin was saying that Larry has been workin on Mek's guard game. And it shows. He just looks more comfortable than he ever has out there.

Ohara I cant agree with Raymond making bad decisions. I thought he played excellent tonight and like timang said.... He's not human. Dickhead tried his hardest to snap Raymonds elbow off his arm, and Ray was out for a total of 0 minutes because of it. that is one tough son of a bitch.

I thought maybe Adam should have come in some for the beginning of the 4th. Offense couldn't have hurt and Gerald just seemed to be having a terrible day. Just completely off his game and I think Adam, who played decent defense again for the short time he was out there, would have been a nice change of pace to start the 4th. In other news... Matt Carroll still sucks.

BobcatsAllDay

I think due to matchups and lack of faith in May (obviously), LB is a little reluctant to put May in the game at crunch time. I'm not sure what the announcing was like, but I don't think you would have thought that had you seen it. Felton was largely playing in the corner off the ball in the 4th. When he shot the ball, he was usually open for a decent shot. Most of the time, he was looking to pass.

He had a couple of bad plays, but they seemed more flukes (the rebound lost out of bounds) than poor decisions. He was great on the defensive end, picking up whoever he needed to. He was boxing out and covering bigs on a few plays, and holding his own at that.

Our guards were generally very strong. Emeka was fantastic. We just needed more rebounds.

This game was lost by Milwaukee racking up offensive rebounds, nothing more, nothing less.

I think assessing games without being able to see them has got to be beyond difficult. The online play by play doesn't give you context. And much of the Bobcat commentary on TV and radio seems to have a script that they frame events under.

If a person is fully dependent on either of these for their game analysis, they are at a disadvantage (not through their own fault).

Yup. We got destroyed on the offensive glass and that's what did us in in the end. I mean they had seven extra possessions basically.

Jesus Ohara...you're starting to look like a hater. You bitched about Felton the last game in the 4th when he actually went .500 in the last 6 minutes and now last night? The ONLY thing I remember him messing up on in the 4th is fumbling a rebound out of bounds...THATS IT.

IMO he played a pretty stellar game; he fed Mek, his shot a great rate AND he guarded Redd for most of the game.

What the hell does he have to do?

Crash's game was off. If he'd have had a normal night we'd have won. If they hadn't outrebounded us by 14 we'd have won.

Crash's game was off. If he'd have had a normal night we'd have won. If they hadn't outrebounded us by 14 we'd have won.

Yeah, the only reason I didn't comment on Wallace is that he was doing a lot of other beneficial things other than scoring. He was also playing D on much larger players for a good portion of the night. His shot was bad, but thought the rest of his game was o.k.

Jesus Ohara

At first, I didn't think you were saying it like "Jesus!" I thought you had renamed Ohara, possibly for prophetic skill or possibly because of his alchemy. Wasn't sure.

At any rate, now I understand.

May couldn't have played much worse than naz tonight and that goes for everyone else on the bench to. I want to see some more AA especially if Naz is gonna be trash

Oh yah, he did. Didn't mean to discount his other efforts, but we look for his scoring tho because normally he's our best, most aggressive slasher/finisher and we really need his points.

Confidence in your shot is a bigtime thing. I think he's struggling with it somewhat and (as Bonnell's earlier mentioned) so if Felton.

On a positive note...how's about our big guy! He's ran a string together, and last night was against no slouch in Bogut. If he can start being more aggressive like that then he's well worth that contract.

Bonnell already wrote about Felton and Okafor developing chemistry, but that was before last night. The first quarter, they were sensational together. That was one of the few things I didn't understand: why didn't we go back to the Felton pick and roll more in the second half, especially in the fourth?

Jesus Ohara...you're starting to look like a hater. You bitched about Felton the last game in the 4th when he actually went .500 in the last 6 minutes and now last night? The ONLY thing I remember him messing up on in the 4th is fumbling a rebound out of bounds...THATS IT.

IMO he played a pretty stellar game; he fed Mek, his shot a great rate AND he guarded Redd for most of the game.

What the hell does he have to do?

Spectre, you are sounding more and more like a Felton apologist. I am just looking at his play with a more critical eye than you, that's all. Maybe the truth about his game is somewhere in the middle.

Ohara, I really don't think you would have criticized Felton if you watched the game. He wasn't the primary ball handler in the fourth quarter. He missed a couple of shots, but he also hit a critical three and a needed layup. He was making the extra pass also. On top of that, he was a warrior last night, playing almost exclusively against much bigger talent, save the times early on when he was guarding Ridnour.

Also, he took a prayer three with time expiring at the end of the half. (Afterwords, Brown was smiling and seemed to be talking to Felton like he was his son.) He also had to take another last minute shot with time winding down at another point. If he doesn't have to take those shots, he would have been shooting 70% or close to it.

I'll put it to you like this: on different message boards, different people have told you that Felton was pretty impressive last night. On RealGM, he was the first or second Hammer by virtually everyone but you.

Again, nothing personal in the slightest. I was just very shocked to see you criticize him after last night.

If we had Jones, Ajinca, or Hollins getting Nazr's minutes last night, we would have won.

Nazr is the new Harrington.

Heh, me and everyone else I guess.

So...what were all these bad decisions you're critizing him about?
