So just wondering if you guys had thought of any nicknames for Raja, Boris, & Singletary?

Heard someone talk about Ajinca & Boris working together called "The French Connection" but wondering if you guys had any nicknames for them, or if they had any old ones in PHX?

Diaw was called "3D" for his versatility, it was mostly used in 05-06 when he was racking up the triple-doubles, but I think it's an old nickname of his that he got when he was playing in France with Tony Parker and all the French young'uns.

Raja didn't have a nickname that I know/can remember, but he had his own sound effect when he scored/took a charge in the Suns arena (the same bell sound that Ben Wallace had).

Not really nicknames but I had a good laugh at "fellow frog" (regarding the french connection) and apparently some Suns fans called Boris Diaw "Doris Meow" when he was too soft.

i guess we'll see what they do in first games for our team and something will emerge.

We have to wait to see how they perform before they are rewarded:biggrin: with nicknames.

If Diaw doesn't work out then I'm all for the Doris Meow name I heard previously.

Raja Bell- Faja from Austin Powers? photoshops galore for that one

Raja Bellringer .... he did crossline Kobe :D

BTW...Who remembers that the Hornets drafted Kobe then traded him on Draft night for Vlade Divac and some other clown.

How bout we don't make up any nicknames, we just call them Bell (or Raja), Diaw, and Singletary so people know who we are talking about and we don't sound gay

Initials come in to play usually. RB, BD, and SS? BDiaw, Rbell, and Ssingletary doesn't work. BigD, Centura (RB), and Singlet maybe. Raja Daja. For whom the Bell tolls. Liberty Bell. Seriously a bell gong would be cool when he scores.

Diaw (avoiding the PHX nickname of Doris)...not easy. D-up (either b/c he good at it or bad at it)...

This is fun, I am going to kicking this around for days...

Juwanna Man...haha for our 16 yr vet.

i think the nicknames are in reference to the board names..ie, that name that shows up underneath your username

Juwanna Man...haha for our 16 yr vet. Yeah, I'm more of an initials guy when it comes to nicknames, unless something really good comes along such as Crash, Ammo, Lexy (I use that one for my man Ajinca anyway). However, I can't use BD for Diaw, since BD has been retired for my all-time favorite Charlotte Hornet, Baron Davis! (Damn, I still miss ol' B Diddy....) Anyway, nostalgia waxing aside, I'll probably just use last names 'til something good comes along.

The way DJ's been playing, I'm about ready to break out my "Saint" nickname for him that I proposed during the summer, but I'll let it sit a while longer...

Oo... as much as I like the idea of calling him Giggles, that could be great. Wouldn't it be 'The Saint' though? Never thought I'd dig that as a Panthers fan.

Would he get canonized if he wins ROY?

I remember Vlade was less than thrilled to come here as well. WTF is so wrong with Charlotte anyway? Other than the big media markets of NY and LA and the sunnyness of Phoenix and Orlando/Miami; It's a great place to be! I'm getting a little tired of this.

It has nothing to do with the city (well except you Milwaukee sorry). It has everything to do with the teams management and history.

Superstuds like Kobe and LeBron (probably) will gravitate to the big media markets; can't do much about that; but that leaves PLENTY of other opportunities; just not more Vlade Divac's thanks.

I think we should adopt Doris Meow whatsoever. Besides whether being realistic, it's creative and damn funny (sorry Boris).

When Nazr first came to the Cats and was actually being really productive for a couple of months, I wanted to start calling him "The Prophet." Not sure how that'd go over with the Muslim population, though, since at the time people were dying over cartoons. Now it just doesn't seem fitting, but I still think it's a bad-ass nickname.

It will always be his nick name from me but to be fair I think we need to see them actually play a few games and then come up with a good one..(not a novel thought but just trowing it out)...:g:
