On his latest blog, Bonnell said he along with several other New York writers are wondering if we may be moving Diaw to New York for David Lee. He cites D'Antoni's fondness of Diaw's game and says it would help D'Antoni in implementing his system in New York.
I went to the trade checker and I figure if LB wants more defense...
Diaw
for Lee and Jeffries

I would actually love this move!

Though i would like it too i don't think we can trade Diaw this season . From what i understand he can't be traded for 90 days now. Whitch yould put us past the trade dead line.
I think looking at a trade involving Wallace and Lee is more realistic
Look to see it be Curry and two first round picks for Wallace.

Just to add a little bit on to that...
"What are the chances of Boris Diaw ending up in New York and reunited with Mike D'Antoni? Before yesterday, not very good. But now, you could see a scenario - perhaps one that would include David Lee being shipped out - where Diaw is wearing a Knicks uniform. The Phoenix Suns traded one of D'Antoni's all-time favorite players to the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday along with Raja Bell for Jason Richardson and Jared Dudley. The move means that when D'Antoni makes his emotional return to the Valley on Monday he won't have as many former players to embrace. But the trade also opens the door for the Knicks to eventually acquire Diaw, especially with Donnie Walsh's good friend, Larry Brown, falling in and out of love with players on a daily basis. If you don't think Diaw would love to play for D'Antoni again, here is what the veteran forward said upon being traded by GM Steve Kerr: "It definitely wasn't as fun. It wasn't as exciting for the fans. It's not as fun for everybody (on the team). I'll always remember Phoenix with Mike (D'Antoni). We went from a winning team that was the most exciting team in the league to a half-winning team that wasn't exciting at all." (New York Daily News)

You can trade a player right after you acquire him in trade if he's the only one going out from our side.
I doubt the Knicks would do it because of the length of Diaw's contract.
BTW, I think the Knicks owe a 1st to Utah so they can't deal another til that's resolved (just like us).

haha..funniest thing i've read so far today
Diaw can't be traded before the deadline...Walsh would not trade for him (nor any other team in the league) during the draft when the Suns were desperate to unload him (and his contract)...for better or worse I'm affraid this is one guy we're stuck with...

Yeah he can BRNC.
Go here (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine), choose the Bobcats and any other team and move your mouse over the "(TR)" beside either Raja's or Diaw's name. It says:
Trade/Claim: If a team is over the cap and receives a player in a trade or claims a player off of waivers, they cannot trade the player in combination with other players for 2 months. The player can be traded by himself.
For the record I'd just as soon stay pat for now (and that includes shopping Crash for a C).
I think you're correct...(I forgot the combo clause) and will check further...but take my work NY could have this guy during the draft along with a pick (they did not bite) as well as other teams and no one wanted him even with a pick...
Spectre I rechecked and think you're 100% correct only the combo clause would apply the Diaw...but again what do we have to take fron NY (and again no way Walsh will take this contract unless we take one on their books that is the same length and that's no one on their roster...even Curry ends a year before this one).

I don't really want to do a NY trade, but about the only one I'd consider not totally terrible would be Jefferies/Lee for Diaw (which I don't think you like Jefferies?). In no way shape or form do I want to even consider trading for that fat POS Curry.
Those trade restrictions are hard to keep straight.
I'm not crazy about Jeffries but I don't hate the guy (like I do Diaw) but if Crash is traded (for a 4 or 5) then (I can't believe I'm saying this) we'd actually need Diaw to play the 3....(the one guy outside of Curry I never wanted to see on my team)...
...although Jeffries at the 3 appeals to me a heck of a lot more than Jeffries at the 4....

If this trade goes down, I am turning to the dark side and going to begin to rant about the front office. If this trade goes down, it's officially starting from scratch for the team. Jeffries is a bum (in a basketball sense) and Lee's a more athletic Dudley. He's a great guy to bring off the bench, but hardly a piece you can build around. Not to mention that he's going to be in demand this off season which makes trading for him a risk. If months after trading for JRich we have Raja Bell, Jared Jeffries, and Sean Singletary to show for it, I take back all the nice things I've said about the front office.
I hope this is the Knick fan in Bonnell coming out, hoping that his team might get a good piece and not rooted in fact.

I am with you...and again I hope I'm wrong but for me (the JRich trade) this all started out on the wrong foot...and as much as I hope it gets better I only see dark days ahead....again I really hope I'm wrong...

If we got eddy curry, it would make me rethink my stance on pro sports all together. I am finally getting over the fact that we picked adam morrison over rudy gay, and bringing another fat bigman in will not help our sqad and his bad contract. Wallace is better than lee, and i think lee and okafor have similar games so it would be aqward on offense for both of them.
