I know it will take some time to gel, but i expect someone to step up and score. We will be much better defensively, and i think we can still make a push for the 8th seed at best. what do yall think? is anyone as excited as i am to see the team?

I really have no exspectations of this team making the playoffs...to be fair to the players (which I will be) it will take at least as many games as we've already played (what 18-20) for them to really know one another and we're half way through the season at that point...

We still have not addressed the need for a big (and please no one come back at me with Diaw....he is no answer for rebounds we're not getting) so that remains a problem unless (caveat) Hollins can keep putting in 20-24 mins...if he can then I think the Howard signing will really help...but playoffs this year...doubt it unless they gel beyond my wildest dreams....the other problem (that I see) is the trades (once LB gets them started) will probably not stop for awhile...so you have to bring in and lose all the time...does not really set the stage for a playoff push...

This is why LB's teams usually start slow. He's too busy imploding the team to have any real success until they gel in the second year:biggrin:

Plus, I don't think all the roster moves are finished yet. I don't think we'll even get as close to the playoffs as we did last year, but the growth that will take place with the team this year and another Larry lottery pick (who knows, maybe even the #1!!!) definitely have me excited about the Bobcats!

A trail of destruction the likes of which the world has never seen! The forests and plants will burn in a diabolical rage. The chickens and mules will be trampled, pressed under foot into the very ground from where they fed. The children will cry in the ashes of mothers and fathers. In the smoldering remains, a single tea cup sits on a table. A green glaze of dancing and weddings, sewing and harvests, and baking and feasts wraps the cup in the last remnants of this humble village.

Two weeping boys huddle under a tree, staring blankly into the wasteland, tears making channels of flesh amongst the dirt and ash of their cheeks.

"We did this. We did this," says Philipe. Johan turns incredulously.
"What do you mean, Felipe? It was the teacher?"
"Yes, but we invited him here. We begged for his tricks and spells."

Twigs snap behind the boys. They grasp each other, clinching their teeth and hands.

A cloaked rider emerges from the smokey dirt path. He sees the children and smiles. The children ceased to blink as the rider approached. The horse stopped.

"Hello, children," said the rider. "How do you like my creation?"

The boys could not answer; they simply shook in each others' arms.

"You see, that his how you burn down a village the right way. Now, I want you to run to the next village. Tell them what you see before you. Be sure to relay every blackened detail. And when you are finished you tell them the name of the man that brings destruction to all who stand before him. Tell them you looked into the eyes of omnipotence. Tell them you saw the great adversary."

The man then climbed down from his horse and knelt down to the children, his eyes almost kissing their foreheads. He whispers in their ears.

"Tell them you saw Larry Brown and that you lived to tell others that they soon will die."

The boys closed their eyes and shook.

"Raja! Diaw! We leave!"

With that, two purple clad riders flashed from behind buildings, immediately finding the flank of their master. With a whistle, their horses dash down the road into the gray void.

I imagine something like that, or a two win improvement over last year.

this is probably the only dissapointing thing about the trade..is that we have to start all over again...you have to get used to everyone, develop team chemistry etc...so it's going to be another tough 20 games.
