He's doing quite nicely, dont you all think? Certainly much better than you would expect for the 9th pick. 4th in scoring and 2nd in assists. When it's all said and done, this kid is going to be a steal at #9.

He's shown me that he's got the balls and the skills to make plays happen when needed. I'm very pleased with the pick

Yeah, I feel good about the pick. I was really frustrated when we made it, especially with Ajinca. However, I feel o.k. about it now.

I (We!) just need to have more patience.

alright..so LB makes that pick, and so far turns out good....shouldn't we give more credibility to LB for the trade? yeah, we looked terrible tonight..and on paper it looks awful, but the same person that made the pick, pushed the trade..

We looked bad tonight, but Diaw didn't really look that bad. In fact, I was pretty excited after watching him do a lot of things last night. He was breathing pretty hard early, so he needs to get into shape. However, he did a little of everything. We just need chemistry. If Bell emerges as a guy who can give us some good D and some outside shooting, I'll feel pretty good about the trade.

Still, this isn't a trade that is going to save or break our franchise. People have to temper expectations.

notice that DJ also ranks 4th on shots per game and third in minutes per game...gotta wonder where he would be if he played as much as OJ or Rose...either way, he is a PG..and under LB we shouldn't be focusing so much on the points he makes but how he creates plays for the teams and runs the offense

diaw showed me more than bell tonight..he had some good moves around the post, got rebounds..he plays bigger than 6'8

the only thing i was dissapointed is that i thought he had a good range on his shot?..i remember once i took a jump shot from the outside, but i expected him to do more with it..

i'm just pissed at seeing us lose two games to three pointers to two big guys

Point guard or not..Where in the hell would we be without him scoring the ball? Hell last night we would have lost by 30. As for rookie stats all the hoopla around Russel Westbrooks kills me even people on this site ride his jock to no end 25% behind the arc 35% inside yet he gets the national praise on a 2 and 20 team..Just thought D.J. was the right pick from the jump I watched almost all his games in college and once he starts getting his calls when he goes to the rims his points as well as assist will rise...Go cats

Very deep and talented draft class a lot of players could be very good/special pros hopefully DJ & Lex will be in that running for our teams sake.

Picks and trades have to stand on their on merit and for me have little to do with one another...DJ is simply a good pick and even I said at the time if there is one position that LB would know what he wants it is PG...the kid can play...
If I have any complaint about him (and it is not really a complaint) it is that I'd like to see more assist...but I'm confident we'll see that...he is a rookie...but he can play...

DJ does get some assists at 4.4 a game....which is 33rd in the NBA. Not bad considering he gets under 30 minutes a game. If I could find his asts/48 min I would and see where he stands in the league....I'd bet he would be higher than 33rd.

I don't really doubt them coming up( his assist)...I think he has very good court vision...I'm looking forward to him getting more time...and check it...I was not criticizing him...I think he is a good player and has great upside...

I was. I might have been one of the toughest people on him after the draft. I wanted Bayless. I thought it was stupid to take Augustin because he's too small.

But, I also said I hoped he does well and makes me eat my words. And if he does I'll take back all my negativity. Well, he hasn't done it yet, but if he keep his play up all season, I'll be happy to live with the fact that we have a great player and a steal at the #9 spot.

You're a class act...but as much as I've been negative on LB for the trade even I know the guy can pick a PG...I think we'll all be thrilled to have DJ here when LB is long gone (from retiring or whatever not trying to start anything) and we have a really excellent PG...he is a player...

Ultimately, though, I think it'll just take some time for him....he's not a true PG, at least not coming out of the draft, so he's learning on the job at the highest level, which usually doesn't produce great results for a rookie. I really haven't heard that much praise for him since he's been marooned in OKC though.

What's weird is, outside of Rose and Mayo, I haven't heard much hoopla at all about this rookie class. I haven't been impressed all that much with Beasley myself; it's like he's allergic to mixing it up inside and just wants to stay out on the perimeter and jack up jumpers all night; he's got a nice touch and all, but he's surprisingly one-dimensional at this point. Kevin Love has been labled as a possible bust already, and from what I saw of him when the Wolves came here to play, I wasn't impressed at all with him either.

Anyway, though I threw a fit the day of the draft when we took DJ over Bayless, the day AFTER the draft, I realized DJ was the best pick available for our team, and have supported him since, but I never realized he would be this good this early. He has that "it" I've never seen in a Bobcat before in both his game and his bearing.....it's like he mainlines ice water he's so cool in the clutch, as opposed to poor Raymond who just thinks/tries too hard.

Viva the Saint!!!

My two cents about draft:
No.9 - I was high on Westbrook, hopped on his bandwagon pretty soon. I watched draft life and by the time of the pick I was just hoping we won't pick Lopez as it looks everyone suggests we should draft him as he is still available. I never thought he would be good fit to Emeka. At the time I didn't know much about his general odd likes and odd voice, so I was more thankfull even then. With Westbrook gone I was more than Ok with us picking DJ, I was quite suspicious because last Bobcats have pass first PG it was Knight and it wasn't really successful. I would probably be OK with other players if we picked them too knowing they are LArry's picks but I guess I was thinking DJ was BPA at the moment. I admit I didn't follow Bayless much because he shgould be gone when we were picking but I was thinking (don't really remember what were my thoughts about him at the time) he was too much similar too Felton so I prefered DJ. The thing he didn't work out for us make me believe LB really knows why he wanted him and that he is his pick. I didn't want to do the Roy fiasco second time. I was only slightly worried how DJ will ike it here he looked quite stunned when his name was announced. But anyone would be shocked at his place. I was more than content with the pick, more that we didn't screw it again, though it was best avalable choice and now it looks like it was even better steal than I thought. (Of course i would pick Rose if he was available etc.; Love- I like him as a person but considered híim as risky pick, glad we went with safer pick). Then I was just hoping someone won't pick Alexis before No.20.
No.20 - Though the year I was on Serge Ibaka's bandwagon thinking it wouldn't be a bad thing to trade down to get him. After the Jordan-Hibbert-McGee-Ajinça workot and Larry's comments I searched about Alexis and realized LB is sincere and he really wants him over Hibbert (there was a speculation it is a smokescreen and he prefers Roy). So I love the pick and was surprised by cold reaction at te live chat (I guess predraft discussion here and on RealmGM were quite different and there wasn't toom uch talking about AA before the draft). Than I just hoping Ibaka would somehow slipped to our second round pick knowing he wants to stay at Europe next year. It was a small hope so I wasn't surúprised he didn't last long enough.
Second round pick - After Ibaka I haven't realyl a preference. Kyle Weaver flew under the radar for me but as i found out more about him I was a big fan of this pick.

Generally I was thrilled how we drafted and I was optimistic. I would compare it to draft 07 when we got J-Rich.
