To me this don't seem fair or it's just to much in such a short period of time.
Bonnells reporting now Wallace just lost his father , It don't seem fair this close toghter.
Keep this guy in your prayers during his time of need .this is real life not a basketball game
More than some could bare. The guy deserves all the time he needs. I remember losing my father.

All of this right before the holidays...
Is there something we can do to show the 'Cats' fans feel for him?
It would be nice...if all we could do is send a card from the BCP fans...just to let him know we care...

We could make an online page for him:
http://www.glogster.com/
If folks are interested, I could make a BCP account and give the password to all interested folks.
You just put whatever you want on it: text, pictures, video.
If we do it, I think we need to do a general "thinking of you" type page and not directly address the deaths, if that makes sense.

This is a really good idea...all with you no staying away from the death aspect...

Is there something more tangible we could do, esepcially with it being the holiday season.
I hate to propose something and not have an idea, but that's exactly what I'm doing.
Perhaps some of the guys with ties to people in the organization could ask around. I'd be happy to volunteer to help if we did something to benefit the community in their honor.

Something tangible would be really good...or if someone can find out Crashs' favorite charity so we could do something from BCP in honor of his dad...really good thought but who can find out from the team?....Ziggy?

Well I'm pretty sure Michael Thomson hangs around here every now and again. Anyway if he's reading this we can get him to hook us up with some info

I have to admit I didn't realize he has a foundation (http://www.geraldwallacefoundation.org/).
On the homepage is a message to fans, "Thanks to all the fans who sent well wishes to me. Your concern meant a lot to me and my family. We really felt like we had the support of the entire community behind us. Thanks for your blessings!"
Here's a link (http://www.nba.com/bobcats/Wallace_Launches_Foundation.html) from the Bobcats site that talks about some of the work he's doing in Charlotte.

Great find...we all have to decide to as a group or what?...side note: I'm going to hate it when he leaves...character guys are tough enough to find anymore but this is a good dude (and I'm not just saying it 'cause he went to my Alma Mater)...I really hate it that with all the family grief he has had that he has also had to deal with the constant trade speculation...it simply how solid the man is...and I for one will miss him when he goes...

This is just unfair.
Knowing what he's gone through, it elated me to see him jumping up and down, yelling and excited about his teammate's comeback last night against Detroit. I mean, this is a game. We enjoy watching these guys run up and down a court putting a ball in a hoop, but it's still just a game. For the state I can only imagine he's in right now, it's amazing that he's still out there playing. That guy's never given us fans anything but his best. Gotta love it.

Excuse the language, but motherfucker! Life fucking sucks!! So much love I have for GW now. This isn't the time to get on a soapbox, but emotions are just flowing for me right now so....
I lost all 3 of my grandparents (a grandad died well before I was born) in a 13 month span, all one at a time before I turned 21, and then last December my mom died after spending nearly 20 months in a fucking hospital bed.
This shit just hits so close to home. Gerald and the Bobcats have helped distract me from the depression and misery and shit the last couple years have been for me (not to mention you BCP legion), so I'm going to do something a little more personal for Gerald. I'll go to Hallmark or something and get him a card and give it to MT at the Bulls game.
I think it's a good idea to do something as a group, and I can email MT to see what he think would be best.
PS. Now I know why Rasheed had an extended hug with GW before tip and after the game, as well as McDyess and a few other Pistons. They may have degenerate fans in the Carolinas, but the guys on the court are class exemplified! Kudos to the Pistons!

I'm all for doing something for Gerald, Thats a difficult situation that hes going through.
We can do the glogster page, or something more tangible. I'm open to all suggestions.

Ziggy...amp found that Gerald has a Foundation...I'm all for doing something together as a group (From the fans at BCP" in honor of his dad)...if it is too much of a hassle I can do it for myself in honor of his dad and note BCP...but as a group appeals to me more...

My heart goes out to Gerald and his family at this time or sorrow... I lost my grandmother in 98 and then 6 months later my dad passed. All that took a big toll on me, so I feel for Gerald losing 2 family members the same week. Hang in there Gerald be strong for the surviving members.....

Ziggy: Remember when we posted our well wishes to him the time he was out with the concussion. I think Michael helped us get the messages to Crash. Maybe we can do something similar?

I think that back then someone printed out all of the well wishes from the site and gave them to Michael Thompson who then gave them to Gerald.
I think it was TheBeagle who did that back then, but I'm not 100% sure that I'm remembering correctly.

I emailed him just now to see what he would recommend us doing....will let you know what I hear.
