This has been a crazy start of the year for the Bobcats and I love it. I believe since the start of this franchise, the people that love the Bobcats including myself, always believed that we were better than we were.
First it was Bernies fault, or Vincents, or injuries. Or "We have done better than any other expansion team".
The fact is we, like all fans, overvalue our players. This Richardson trade will make us better. It fills holes that we have.
As far as Larry Browns coaching, I have been so impressed. He is the coach that a young team needs. Our franchise needed a fresh start. Brown has provided that.
Our original idea was Rich, Wallace, Felton, May, Oak to be the future and faces of our Bobcats. That didnt work. I for one am glad that we are doing something.
The future of our franchise is Oak, DJ, and Lex. Guys that LB hand picked. DJ has looked amazing for a rookie PG(gotta pass more though). Oak has played amazing as of late because hes getting the opportunity to actually score. Alexis has talent, we can all see it. Tell me before LB came here who would have had the balls to trade a future first for a complete skinny project.
THis is the beginning of the Bobcats and Im glad Im here to witness it.

THis is the beginning of the Bobcats and Im glad Im here to witness it.+1!! Great post! I'm equally jazzed about things. I rarely listen to the Primetime show from FNZ, but I happened to be driving around Winston doing some chores the day after the trade (they remarkably were talking about this thing the entire 30 minutes I was listening), and each of them were in favor of the trade. They brought up a really interesting point, Packer I think it was, that it shows how pathetic the franchise had been run up to the Larry signing in that here we are in year 5, which should be the year that we've turned the corner and are ready to become a longterm playoff team, and it's like we're just now starting to see a plan come into place, so that the first 4 years were basically a waste, which is, for the most part, entirely true.
Also, Michael Thompson said at the game last night that the reponse to the trade from media, hardcore fans, and even casual fans was incredible. A slight majority of them were in favor of the trade, while others weren't happy, but like he said, the outpouring of responses in and of itself was good news for the franchise in that the team, despite what others would have you think (ESPN, posters on the Observer site, etc.), has some actual relevance here in Charlotte. That's what's so great about Michael; he's completely honest, and you could tell he was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of responses about the trade; like he said, the worst thing that could happen is that you make a trade like this and there's crickets chirping.
As for the last paragraph of your post, kjk, that's why I've adopted the ILBIT (In Larry Brown I Trust) tagline the great dnbman initiated a month or so back. I think we'll finally get the team we've always wanted with the mad genius that is Larry Brown at the helm....let's just hope he stays here for at least 3 years...

Every minute Lexi spends on the court makes me happy. the kid is 20! I think a lot of people forget this when they watch him. They say hes too skinny and not skilled enough down low but hes still 2 years younger than the average rook. Would you say these things about him if he was a college sophmore? I think not.
