As far as I know the HD telecasts of the Bobcats have not been available on Time Warner in Charlotte. At least I havent been able to find the channel that they are on. Has anybody that has TWC in Charlotte been able to watch games in HD yet? A member of the Bobcats organization told me earlier in the season that Time Warner was going to start picking up the HD games in December but I havent seen one yet. It's so frustrating that nobody from the Bobcats or Time Warner seem to have any answers when I call them about this subject. I find it truely amazing that nobody in the Bobcats organization has any answers. You would think that they would know what the status of their HD telecasts were in their home city. I really cant wait to start watching games in HD because for whatever reason the picture quality of the Bobcats telecasts are dreadful. It really looks like they are using cameras from the 1970's. I've seen clearer broadcast pictures on the local access cable stations broadcasting high school football and basketball.

not sure what TWC meant by that...they don't carry FS South on HD.

I think Dish network carries it..

The only Bobcats HD we will get on TWC will be if we play on TNT or ESPN, not sure when or if that happens

it's frustrating as hell being in charlotte and getting such crappy broadcasts. however, i do remember someone saying that time warner will make the fox sports carolinas hd channel available around the 18th of december. i can't remember the exact date, but i feel like someone posted it as the 18th or 19th. i don't know about sports south, but i know foxsports carolinas will be available in hd.

TWC has a list of HD channels on their website that they are adding on the 18th and FS Carolinas is not one of them. I called TWC yesterday and their agent said there are no current plans to add Fox Sports Carolina's in HD. I'm just trying to figure out why a member of the Bobcats organization told me they would be adding it in December. I just find it so hard to believe that nobody working with the Bobcats has any idea what's going on with these HD telecasts. You would think they would be in constant contact with management of TWC to find out when their broadcasts would be available in HD in the city they play in. At the very least when you call the Bobcats they should know every detail whether TWC is going to be broadcasting in HD or not. How can they not know this?

Up here in the Triad we've gotten one game on HD that I know of. That was the 12/13 Pistons game that was listed as broadcast by SportSouth. It was on cable channel 591 which normally shows up on the guide as "Braves Channel" or something like that. The game wasn't listed in the guide, but I recorded it anyway....and there it was! It was very nice. The Hawks game on 12/15 was supposed to be on HD, but we couldn't find it. The 12/15 game was FS Carolinas.

I keep the link to this thread bookmarked so that I can check it out...

Maybe that can be stickied with the regular broadcast thread?

so you're saying that you get HD FS South in raleigh?

that post implies that TWC would carry the HD signal for ALL cable subscribers..but that's not the case for subscribers in CLT

how the hell is the arena named TWC and the TWC subscribers cant even get the HD signal for the games they play..ridiculous

I have TWC Digital cable & none of the games which were suppose to broadcasted in Hi-Def have truely been HD. No big deal though I'd rather them fix the Triangle area TV issues so we can see all of the games (sportsouth blackout games) rather than just 20-30 HD games on FSN.

I hear that. We got the Hawks game in HD in the triangle, it looked great. Hopefully, all of them will be that way on FSN. Any news on sports south in the triangle. the guy at TWC said they are working on it. probably full of it, just saying what I want to hear.

Starting tomorrow (Dec 18th) TWC Digital here in Charlotte will add like 7 new channels to their HD line-up including FS Carolinas.

that's awesome, notice the caveat though:

"Only HD programming will be broadcast on this channel (off air during non-HD programming)."

now..if only the rest of NC could get the bobcats games we would be on to something

Anyone have DISH in the Mooresville area? Games are still blacked out there.

i shot an email to twc last night while i was staring at the multi-colored off air screen. i was able to watch the game on the digital channel, but i need an explanation as to why they are capable of placing nothing on that channel while there is a game on.

polarcat, Last night's Bobcats game was not one of the scheduled HD games. That's why TWC had a blank screen on the FSN Carolina's HD channel. FSN Carolina's HD channel will only have programming on it when they are broadcasting an HD game. Otherwise it's just going to be that multi-colored off air screen.
