anyway, now at 8-18, we're hoping to take baby steps toward double-digit wins pretty soon. we should be able to win this game

oj mayo and rudy gay are beasts (and 2 of my fav players), but with a team effort, i think we are very balanced and can win tonight. i hope i can watch this game on TV b/c sometimes it's the hurricanes or something else

In our last game DJ thoroughly outplayed Rose, if he puts up better numbers than Mayo tonight, some of the NBA talking heads may actually start to pay him some attention.

My prediction for tonight, Bobcats win by 1 with a shot at the buzzer... We're due for one of those types of wins aren't we ? :biggrin:

Not sure I want a last-second-shot-for-the-win game, but I'd gladly take it over a loss. Memphis has been playing well lately. The Bobcats have been playing close with teams and of course pulled out the tight win the other night over the Bulls.

I'm not gonna call a win for the Bobcats tonight (too superstitious), but I would bet that it's a close game. I would love to witness a blow-out tonight, though, leading to heavy minutes for Lexy, Hollins and Adam. The Bobcats have it in them to do it.

I always read the USA Today preview when I can think to anyway, and today I'm impressed that they concentrate on the Bobcats and the Grizz are the 2nd team. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/scores108/108354/NBA836820.htm
I don't know what goes down tonight. I want to see a bit more consistency. I looked at the stats yesterday after seeing John Hollinger call the 'Cats one of the "lamb" teams in the NBA and Chicago blew it on a bad call at the end of regulation. I just wanted to see the average margin we're at right now and we're hardly a lamb. 93-90 with the opponents coming out on top of course, 3 points difference in the average PPG for us and the opponents. That's not lambly to me. I'll watch this game because I don't know anything about Rudy Gay and little about Gasol, Mayo and their PG's Lowry and Coneley.
Memphis's ppg totals are 94.8 and 98.7 for their opponents. Numbers look like it could go our way, solid D, DJ, Ray, Mek and Crash get hot, or 3 of 4 get hot and I think we've got a shot. Remains to be seen though, but I'm optimistic

I do like how they set up the beginning with all the pics and links and basically all the info you could ever want. I was optimistic at first, like hey, lets have a good showing but after seeing a guy saying "Make the Bobcats the butt of all NBA jokes" I want to smoke the Grizz. Good find, BCB. That is a scary bunch there...at least some of them. I'll give them a little bit of a pass for being excited about a team that is playing better than expected.

About the game, it's going to be a tough one for sure. The Bobcats are 0-for Memphis, so bad things tend to happen there, but eventually the law of averages has to take over....I mean never winning against the Mavs and PHX is one thing, but never winning in Memphis and being 1-7 overall against them is just ridiculous....I mean it's the Grizzlies!

I think Boris is the difference maker one way or the other: if he has a good game, we win; if he struggles, we lose.

Tonight is ripe for stealin' a win on the road, I see it as a close, high-scoring game with Cats emerging victorious. I'd give Raja a breather tonight and see how Matt would handle more minutes after a solid performance against the Bulls. Adam should also feel the burn lest he loses his game-touch completely.

oj will shoot it if you give him even the slightest amount of space. he's too good to sag off of. rudy will drive, dunk, shoot, everything

and the rest of their lineup is pretty solid so we gotta still play well tonight to win
if i had a second favorite team in the nba, it would probably be memphis right now because of the players they have...but bobcats are still #1 of course :D

At least one was not at all his fault, just a broken play. I can think of 2 where it's partly his fault, trying to pass to a guy cutting backdoor and the timing was off (difficult to tell whose fault it his in these cases). The last one I can't remember.

Really? The Memphis feed has worked for me all game. I just go to NBA.com, pick on the CHA/MEM game and on the next page there's a block that says "Listen Live". It's always there as soon as gametime comes along. Doesn't always work tho.

Terrific game. 12 players played and 11 scored - Ammo was blanked, darn it. Love Lex playing less than 4 minutes and getting 6 points. And I love Hollins play as he is showing a lot of energy and his shooting touch seems to have improved.

This is Diaw's 4th game playing for us. He is avg 18.25 pts and 7.25 reb. I'd love him to get the reb. to 10, but he's playing great. Now I dont feel like our PF position is a disadvantage for us every night. Very happy to have him on this team!

I cant believe how dominating we were tonight. Over 30 assists and we dominated the boards also. Just too many TO's by DJ and Ray is my only gripe. But I wont let that spoil an awesome game.

I don't know I can really say that has happened before. Our starters were solid and dominant. Our role players came into the game and maintained.
They played together defensively AND offensively.
Emeka looked like that kid from that highlights video that someone posted on here a while back. He went to the hoop strong and didn't take any crap from whoever was trying to guard him.

Many people that I talk to cannot understand the JRich trade, but looking at the team play tonight it's readily apparent. The team is more complete. We have a 4, and we also got a 2 that plays good defense (when he doesn't get ejected). In the end are we a great team that will contend for championships? Probably not, but I think we're headed in the right direction.

Still, Boris is the straw that stirs this team, I think at least, and his 26 and 10 and brilliant passing (again) and defense qualifies as a remarkable game!

If not for the TOs (which were well intentioned), I'd even say DJ had one of his best games of the season; this game proves how great a player he is and will be...he scores when needed, not because he wants to...he is, in fact, a pass-first PG, ladies and gents!

A masterful game from GW! Mek is having the time of his NBA-life these past few weeks and I don't see it ending any time soon! Raja Bell rudely introducing Mayo to the NBA and likely giving the boy nightmares all night long (and knocking down a couple js to boot!)Matty looking the Matty of old the last couple games! And Big Lexy....a turnaround jumper, a fadeaway, and an UNGODLY allez-oop from Raymond :o!!!! His frikkin elbows were above the backboard and he had to bring them down to catch Raymond's pass. Think he should've gotten more minutes, but damn, he continues to improve each game.

Not enough words and superlatives to modify those words to continue....this game is why the Greeks invented the metaphor....this was a masterpiece that I hope everyone got to see. It was domination. I am :biggrin: and pumped as hell for tomorrow night!

I dont want to get ahead of myself, but I feel real good about this team right now. We have won 2 in a row, and are 3.5 out of the #8 playoff spot. With GS and Wash coming to town next, we have a good chance at a 4 game win streak. And that will leap us over a couple teams, closer to a Playoff spot, and we will start getting at least a little respect from the press.

ohara, ive been meaning to mention, we live in the same city, i have direct tv and get EVERY SINGLE scheduled for TV game. 71 i think out of the 82. Seriously, 71 cats games are more than enough to negate any reason why you still have cable. ive kept my cable internet and went with them. its AWESOME being able to watch pretty much every single game.

BTW, this win was the ultimate dream for a bobcats fan. We really needed to be on this side of a blowout.
